Top Rated Auto-Update for Jamf Alternatives
No more manual patching. Saves tons of time & money for the org. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can't think of anything in particular. Once you get through the small learning curve for the setup on jamf, it is just a matter of plug & play. Sometimes some titles are missing from the catalog, but even then, we just make a request, and we're all set! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Datajar Auto update is straightforward to be implemented; with a couple of policies on Jamf Pro, I was able to have it working and running at its basics.
When Datajar support was needed, they quickly answered the ticket, usually within minutes and just a few hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are two things that I think could be improved:
1 - Some apps on Datajar are unavailable for intel and silicon processors, so you may run into some problems if an app has just the intel version available and you don't have rosetta installed on the laptop.
2 - Datajar sometimes takes some time to provide the latest version of an app since a new release was made available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wide selection of application titles available. Great customer service. Set up once and mostly forget about it afterwards.
Utilization and contribution to open-source software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inability to support titles that require authentication to access to download packages.
Lack of globalized caching - Servers only in the UK.
Specifically requires a log-out operation for some titles - Would prefer if it worked at reboot as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have just started using Auto-Update in our org, but it's already clear this is going to reduce our work in patching/updating our managed 3rd party apps. The majority of the apps we use are already on the Auto-Update Catalogue Browser, which is brilliant! and a number of the apps in the catalogue keep on growing!
This dataJAR product makes Jamf admin work a lot easier, once the auto-update policy is set up and running, you can forget about it and let it do the work for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As mentioned above, we have only started using dataJAR, however, so far, I cannot really mention any dislikes. On the contrary - very impressed and love the product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have been using DataJAR Auto-Update for JAMF for over a year now and have just renewed it as the product is so fantastic. It saves so much time as the sole Mac admin in our organization having access to an extensive catalog of applications once you have created a policy its a set and forget so our environment is always free of vulnerabilities and users have the latest features in there app Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I can fault about this application, the sales, support and implementation team have been faultless and efficient in every aspect of the setup and aftercare Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As someone who manually used to update packages for self service manually one by one. Our users now have quick and easy access to the latest versions of key applications that are used day to day with a simple and easy to setup policy and deep configurable settings. Easy recommend. Support and staff are also fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wouldn't say there's anything actively negative I can say about the product. Everything I've found was either answered in a FAQ or through a quick support call. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Auto-Update provides a simple automated over hundreds of apps which is constantly growing at a fast pace. It provides users with a piece of mind that updates are happening and provides an easy-to-use interface to update everything in one go. The best thing about this, the list of apps is community driven so there will always be an app available where possible. For admins, it's a set-and-forget service. There are very few steps to get it set up and even fewer steps to get applications marked for update management which is even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing, I have used this system before and I love it. Nothing has ever failed and all the right security checks are in place for those that are security concious Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No longer having to update my packages on an on-going basis and check for when new versions are out! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it had more applications available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The clean, easy-to-use setup of the auto-update process is fantastic. You don't have to be a Jamf elite admin to be able to get it up and running quickly.
Even in comparison to some of the other tools out there, dataJar is one of the best Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is very little I don't like. I just look forward to seeing more and more apps appear on the update catalogue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have removed a mac and Github repo that was used to update applications, it's very easy to add new applications to Jamf self-service in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The catalog application must be run as an admin, but you can get the app list from Datajars website Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Auto update has had a positive impact on our patch management process, as it ensures that all our devices receive the latest updates of all applications deployed through JAMF. With little to no input from ourselves. Also the fact that it has been incorporated into our enrolment successfully into our DEP enrolment is a nice touch! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to report at this moment in time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
