AText makes it very simple to create keyboard shortcuts and small phrases that will auto-populate commonly used pieces of text. This has many applications for my business, such as responding to common email questions, auto-populating commonly used phrases and even passwords if needed. I also love that it is compatible with Mac OS since that is my primary workstation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As of Mac OS High Sierra, the tool requires some time to tweak in order to actually work - this is because Mac OS added a security update that will only allow aText to run if you approve it in system preferences. That is a bit of a hassle, but once it is running it works well. I noticed recently images no longer can be auto-pasted using aText, at least in my experience on Mac OS Mojave. Small pain points , but overall happy with the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like aText because it saves a lot of time and effort in searching for the information which I need at that point in time. It helps to paste the clipboard easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is hard to dislike aText, but the thing I dislike about it is that it shows a lot of add and it requires admin permission to open automatically when the windows sign in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful thing about this product is how much of a "set it and forget it" thing it is. I have several shortcuts I configured many years ago and hardly ever think about - they just work! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are two downsides I've experienced over the years - the first is that aText is unable to expand into secure form fields (for example, password fields), which happens to include all fields in my password manager (not just the password). It is also a little slow to detect when you leave a secure field for a non-secure field, and you're taken by surprise by the fact that text expansion is not working. The latter issue may have been fixed by now, but I know it's definitely been a interruption to the otherwise seamless operation of the workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very easy to set up and use. Save time and ensures consistent replies to correspondence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime special characters will not post properly especially with Rich Text Format Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

aText is super easy to use. I used to use TextExpander, which is much more expensive, and haven't missed it at all. It's very robust and easy to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is a little simple, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A seamless connection to IOS would be great, but that's a different product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I found aText very intuitive to use right out of the box. As soon as I opened it for the first time, I knew exactly what to do and which fields to fill out to begin using aText functionally. There were no superfluous setup steps required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use aText for very simple text replacement, and so far I have yet to find anything I dislike about to product. If I had to pick anything, I would say that the product could use more color. Adding a little color to the mostly grayscale color scheme could make certain functions or fields stick out more and be easier to locate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to configure. Works exactly as expected. I like the ability to insert context-specific items (date, time, clipboard text, etc). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it forgets all of my saved snippets. Easy fix of just restarting the program. Can be annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
aText keeps my boilerplate responses in an easy-to-edit format so that I can respond to tickets quickly without sacrificing detail in my responses. I've built dozens of shortenings so that my workflow is simpler and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Adding links or other fancy bits to your aText isn't very intuitive. It is very easy once you know how to do it, though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
aText makes my job so much easier by allowing me to create quick shortcuts for anything that I type often. I often create an aText for responses to questions that I get multiple times a day so that I do not have to type out the same thing every time. It is so simple to use and provides so much value. It would be really helpful if aText allowed links to be included in shortcuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I send hundreds of very similar emails every day. Before I found aText, I used Yesware templates which required an expensive subscription and required wasteful clicking. With aText, I can draft an email, enter a mailing address, explain a process or policy, etc. without ever taking my hands off my keyboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
On rare occasions, I have to restart my aText or install an update to get it to work. I wish I could more easily share my snippets with my teammates and colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
