It helps to paste the clipboard easily. **What do you dislike about aText?** It is hard to dislike aText, but the thing I dislike about it is that it shows a lot of add and it requires admin permission to open automatically when the windows sign in. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of not searching for the text I am finding and pasting it automatically on that place at that time. It is a very time efficient tool for anyone. ### 2. I have several shortcuts I configured many years ago and hardly ever think about - they just work! **What do you dislike about aText?** There are two downsides I've experienced over the years - the first is that aText is unable to expand into secure form fields (for example, password fields), which happens to include all fields in my password manager (not just the password). It is also a little slow to detect when you leave a secure field for a non-secure field, and you're taken by surprise by the fact that text expansion is not working. The latter issue may have been fixed by now, but I know it's definitely been a interruption to the otherwise seamless operation of the workflow. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use this for any repeatable text - from email addresses to domains to email signoffs to code structures to common words I tend to misspell... I have other apps on my system that could handle some of these use cases, but all of them feel like partial solutions or lack features. ### 3. I used to use TextExpander, which is much more expensive, and haven't missed it at all. It's very robust and easy to manage. **What do you dislike about aText?** The UI is a little simple, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A seamless connection to IOS would be great, but that's a different product. **Recommendations to others considering aText:** Worth every penny, you won't be sorry. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** I no longer have to type in the same phrases over and over again. For example, my email address is 24 characters long. Plus, I have macros of all my account numbers, which means not only do I not have to type my Delta SkyMiles number, I don't even have to remember it. Plus, it fixes common type-os I make over and over again. For example, my fingers always seem to type w-o-r-k -s-h-i-p and it automatically changes it to workshop. ### 5. I have been able to create a variety of snippets that I include in both emails I send to recruits and also that I enter into my CRM. This assures uniformity and consistency with entries so that I can search for them easily. **What do you dislike about aText?** aText list the snippets you create by the order you create them in. I wish I could sort them alphabetically automatically so they could be found easily. I wish that aText was available for the iPad and iPhone so I could keep the consistency of entries across platforms. **Recommendations to others considering aText:** Think through what system of naming your shortcuts you will use. I use all caps and make sure that it does not spell an actual word. Quite often I use the first letter of the first 3-5 words of the snippet. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am required to record a history of interactions with clients and to send them specific notes of the next course of action. By simply typing a few characters I create paragraphs of text knowing it consistent and accurate. ### 6. As soon as I opened it for the first time, I knew exactly what to do and which fields to fill out to begin using aText functionally. There were no superfluous setup steps required. **What do you dislike about aText?** I use aText for very simple text replacement, and so far I have yet to find anything I dislike about to product. If I had to pick anything, I would say that the product could use more color. Adding a little color to the mostly grayscale color scheme could make certain functions or fields stick out more and be easier to locate. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my position I need to route tickets to several different teams depending on the ticket type. For each team I need to include a simple message, which generally are consistent for 95% of cases. With aText, I no longer need to type out the same paragraph dozens of times per day or keep switching between windows to copy and paste the messages. ### 7. This has many applications for my business, such as responding to common email questions, auto-populating commonly used phrases and even passwords if needed. I also love that it is compatible with Mac OS since that is my primary workstation. **What do you dislike about aText?** As of Mac OS High Sierra, the tool requires some time to tweak in order to actually work - this is because Mac OS added a security update that will only allow aText to run if you approve it in system preferences. That is a bit of a hassle, but once it is running it works well. I noticed recently images no longer can be auto-pasted using aText, at least in my experience on Mac OS Mojave. Small pain points , but overall happy with the product. **Recommendations to others considering aText:** Very inexpensive, but support is lacking - not a big deal since it is a simple utility. If you use Mac Os and want to automate some of your email responses, this is the tool to use! **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** I primarily use aText for creating keyboard shortcuts for common email responses and phrases used in email communication in order to simplify and efficiently answer emails. I have noticed since using it that I spend about 30 minutes less per day answering and responding to client requests using this tool. I believe it has a lot of value for email support workers and those who use written communication as a large part of their role. ### 9. I've built dozens of shortenings so that my workflow is simpler and more efficient. **What do you dislike about aText?** Adding links or other fancy bits to your aText isn't very intuitive. It is very easy once you know how to do it, though. **Recommendations to others considering aText:** Get it and spend the first week or more copy and pasting any email you have to send more than once. Reformat them and perfect them so that over time you have a library of useful snippets to call upon. **What problems is aText solving and how is that benefiting you?** aText solves the issue of spending all of your time wording detailed answers for customers or internal tickets.
