Apple Remote Desktop is an amazing support and remote management system that is very well developed and very well integrated in a small to large Apple computers stock. This product offers an incredibly nice administrator console (paid application for IT administrators from the AppStore) that brings together all the Apple computers from the local network in a single page. From this console, you can then launch many of commands like software installations, reboots, etc. to many computers at a time. Unlike the Windows corresponding solution (Microsoft Remote Desktop) that offers no centralized management console for IT administrators, this Apple version is so much more complete. Despite a wonderful integration with all Apple computers from all generations, Apple Remote Desktop cannot be used by an IT administrator from a smartphone (iPhone) or tablet (iPad) which represents a total non-sense in my opinion! In 2017, we always talk about the interoperability between the different platforms and something as basic as remote support from an iPhone/iPad does not exist with Apple Remote Desktop! A second negative point is that the Apple Remote Desktop technology doesn’t offer any feature of a "wake on LAN" which is like a basis feature for a company with a large computers stock. It is not always reliable and has to be restarted multiple times to be able to see whole labs even at the same location and on the same network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the opportunity to be able to reach software and important/confidential work information from home, without carrying around a work laptop or having important information on my personal computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Connection can sometimes be a bit slow and spotty. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pretty much everything else. They have barely even maintained the application (which was very expensive) and added almost no features in the years I've been using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Apple Remote Desktop has to be the best way to manage and administer Macs across your enterprise regardless of where you are and they are. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations as to what the software can do from a remote installation perspective. It can install pkg files, but others things are limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don’t dislike too much. I believe the software is easy enough to figure out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes the administrator password is not saved which requires computers on the network to be scanned multiple times a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part of Apple Remote Desktop is that is just works. Remote desktop works for me as an educator because it easy and simply sets up the connection from one computer to other computers. I use remote desktop as a simple and easy way to connect my teacher station to my students' stations. It is important to be able to communicate with my students and share my screen. Sharing your screen is essential to their education, so for me, aside from all the other functioning elements such as file sharing and locking specific machines, the ability to share on every computer I am connected to is the most important aspect. I dislike that sometimes Remote Desktop disconnects from my students' computers. However, It is not a software issue, it is a wifi issue that my school experiences. Perhaps the software can take up less bandwith and memory on the machine making it less likely to disconnect from students when the wifi signal is poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I mostly used it for remote software installation and viewing the desktops of all my trainees at once. While working in an Apple Retail environment, it gave me the ability to lock the screen while the machines were on display. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, with most issues now I can utilize the updated screen sharing. I really wish they offered some custom reporting and alerts. Often has issues with any advanced DNS settings. You normally have to connect via IP address. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
