It's very easy to implement and customize for basic metadata management needs. I love how AODocs enables use of Awesome Tables to provide easy search, results display, and access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is challenging to manage and time-consuming to make global edits in large libraries (e.g., thousands of files). I'd love to see more powerful global edit features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very flexible customization of documents, for any purpose (e.g. it is a storage for the production budgets, for procedures and so on - all these documents require some specific treatment).

Then, the workflow flexibility (i meant access rights on each step can be set up separately, as well as email notifications).

The last thing I disliked had disappeared with one of the updates. It was absence of linking the workflow with some fields in the metadata (now this feature is presented). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the workflows and automation that there is. It is simple to use and easy to figure out if you don't know how to use it. I have mostly taught myself everything just by fiddling around in the AODOCS and figuring it out. It has lots of different nice features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike how many different drawbacks or things you can't do with AODOCS. For instance, You can't use a DMS in google drive. We were also promised a lot of features before we bought it that turned out not to be true. The implementation and setup are tedious and confusing. It makes it difficult to import everything over to google drive and AODOCS because you have to be the owner of the document in order to move it, perhaps they can change that. The fact that we feel like we "own" the product. At anytime we can make changes that we need. Our organization uses Google G Suite Enterprise we have unlimited storage. This makes AOdocs the perfect component to be used with our system. All this makes the scalability of AOdocs great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes it takes longer than I would like for the uploading process to finish. I don't think this is due to our upload bandwidth but sometimes it does seem to take a minute, especially when uploading multiple documents at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very important in my daily experience:

1. During last AODocs actualization disappeared option of few documents uploading one time.

Before I could upload many documents one time, and with "Metadata copy" app I could manage same metadata for all of them and then easy pass for approval.

Now I need to do it one doc each time. It takes much more time.

2. When I want to search documents waiting for approval of one person from few people, it is giving me results of all documents waiting for approval, even if this person approved, but the other one did not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best about AO docs is through this you can control the data of your whole company without any hassles. No Need of installing big servers, appointing technical team and relatively other IT costly hassles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You cannot move and delete all files together. To move a particular file you have to follow a lengthy process to select individual files and move it one by one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AO docs allow you to easily maintain a "workplace-wide" database/file explorer that is easily accessible through your Google Drive account. In our case, it is campus-wide and allows everyone on campus to easily maintain access to their documents and projects from anywhere; while allowing for appropriate user permissions. The best part for me is its synchronicity to my "Finder" on my Mac so I can access my Google Drive files like you access any other file from the computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It does not allow you to have a working document without "pulling it down" from the cloud and "saving and uploading" the newer version. So if you don't save it properly, or if someone else is accessing the document at the same time, they will not see your changes, or even be made aware that there may be another version currently being checked out in another location. For communication: ordered and controlled way of information flow. In the terms of document management one can get only approved and last version of documents - that makes no confusion about what is valid. Such a powerful & helpful tool. Not dislike but missing - lack of confirmation if approved &sent document has been read by addresser. Plus editing of picutres or drawings could be improved ( I wouldn't mind if you restore editings solutions from old version of Word ) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
