Algolia is incredibly fast to execute searches, often results return in just a few milliseconds. Setup was quite easy, even given the technical overhead involved, since the API and docs are clear and to the point. It has out of the box compatibility with VueJS which I love, so that is appreciated. The default widgets provided are easy to customize and it's not too hard to make your own when needed. There are plugins for Wordpress and other CMSs for those that use them.
I'd also counterpoint to anyone who mentions price as a negative. I would challenge anyone to show me they can even setup the raw infrastructure needed to run something like elastic search this fast, never mind the ongoing costs needed to maintain such a system.

We decided we needed search on our site. Within a few minutes we had a demo account within Algolia, and instantly wrapped our heads around the interface. A few hours later we had our entire dataset within Algolia, and minutes later were hitting the API with search results. Since setting up Algolia, we have hardly had to modify any search settings. It has worked flawlessly for almost two years for us. We are actively showing the technology off to other product teams, as it drastic reduced our cost to build our product out. Our search is so effective, it is typically one of the first things other teams notice when checking out our product. They asked how we did the impossible. Not much. We have had a few minutes of downtime in almost two years. When it happened the monitors at Algolia did not detect the outage. After emailing the CEO, he was quick to respond. The technical teams were quick to resolve, and due to our outreach, were able to fix the monitors. Downtime is expected for any SaaS service. The developer documentation and the API are great: quickly to integrate and powerful. The search options in the dashboard are also easy to configure and adjust.The various integrations with frameworks are also great. Maybe the statistics, it would be helpful to have the info by country and keep them longer by default (at least some information like the 0-result searches). Right now we need to push them to another engine to keep them. Alternatively, an API to get the aggregated statistics would be helpful (especially to regularly get the 0-result searches and be able to push them to our team to improve the indexed data). What I like most about Algolia is that it's very easy to set up and get running. Using Zendesk's connector, we were able to configure instant search on our knowledge base very quickly.
