The unified data model. Segments, journeys, email, web personalisation and predictions all run on the same data — no stitching tools together.
I've implemented it twice: at IDFinance (fintech, 7 markets, 2M+ customers) and at Hockerty & Sumissura (D2C fashion, global). In both cases the behavioural segmentation was the core of the retention strategy — churn risk audiences, LTV cohorts, real-time triggers synced directly with Meta Ads Custom Audiences.
The experimentation layer is solid too. A/B testing across full journeys, not just single emails, makes a real difference when optimising lifecycle flows.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

The initial setup requires serious upfront thinking — if you architect the data model wrong, you pay for it later.
Reporting still has room to grow for advanced cohort analysis, though the AI-assisted features they've been adding are heading in the right direction.

Connecting customer data, automation and personalisation in one place — without depending on multiple tools or manual data exports.

What I like best about Bloomreach is how it brings customer data, segmentation, personalization, and campaign automation into one platform. It makes it much easier to create more relevant customer journeys without having to manually build every experience from scratch.

What I dislike about Bloomreach is that it is not always as user-friendly as it could be, especially for users who are less technical. Some tasks require coding or a stronger understanding of logic and syntax, which can make the platform feel less intuitive at first.

While the flexibility is valuable, it can also create a steeper learning curve.

Bloomreach has an incredibly powerful set of analytics and segmentation tools, facilitating deep, meaningful understanding of our customer data. It's easy to create highly targeted, trigger-based automations to help achieve our business goals. Overall, it's an extremely versatile tool (one of the most flexible CRM/ESPs that I've ever used) that offers a huge array of customisation over how you use it.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

Due to its high level of customization, it can be very complex to understand how to use the various elements of Bloomreach to begin with. Even simple reporting and data analysis can be pretty complicated until you've gained a good understanding of the reports, aggregates, running aggregates, segmentation tools, etc. However, there is a good level of support from CSMs and support teams.

**What problems is Bloomreach solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Bloomreach as our ESP to create and send all BAU and service emails. We also use it to create targeted trigger-based email and SMS automations throughout the customer lifecycle, as well as to personalise the on-site user experience through weblayers and experiments. It's also our central CRM reporting tool; we use it to create customer segmentations and reports, to help understand our shopper base. These segments also feed into our digital ads taregeting across display and social.

**What do you like best about Bloomreach?**

Very easy to design emails & SMS on. The integration process was good, had minimal issues so far, however we did have Datacop who helped massively with setting us up on the platform. No issues with performance, it's speedy & reliable, the drag-and-drop interface saves me hours each week. It's quite expensive, but it is an extensive platform. We have noticed an uplift in revenue on emails. I'm yet to deep dive on the AI side of Bloomreach, though some of the things I have tried the platform isn't able to do. I do find the platform quite complex to use sometimes.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

It's quite a complex platform so some of the simplest tasks seem quite overwhelming & take more time than they should. I have tried to set up some custom AI blocks but it seems the platform can't do what I'm trying to achieve.

It's helping us create for segmented & targeted emails. For example the AI segment blocks when building an email is great for savings time creating 2 separate emails. This way we can build an email, for example, mens & women's clothing and send to correct customers.

The way Bloomreach unifies customer data into a single view is what provides the most value for us. Having the CDP baked directly into the marketing execution tool means I don't have to wait for data syncs or export lists to start a campaign. It’s made our personalisation feel truly real-time, which has led to a much higher ROI on our email segments.

While the campaign execution is great, the reporting dashboards leave a bit to be desired. Building out custom, granular reports on email performance or A/B tests can feel clunky and take longer than they should. It would be helpful to have more robust, out-of-the-box reporting templates that don't require so much manual configuration.

The main problem it solves for us is the sheer amount of manual marketing execution. We used to send generic batch-and-blast emails because building personalised paths was too complex. I use Bloomreach for sending out BAU newsletters to customers and starting journeys that are integrated with our site, like welcome and retention journeys. I find the reporting tools really easy to use, helping us track data that we previously couldn't access or display. I like Bloomreach's versatility; the email building feature is full of great tools, and the product row settings help us set up different things. We were able to integrate Bloomreach with our site to pull information through, which helps create different product selectors and saves us a lot of time when building emails.

Sometimes the reports are off number-wise, and since everyone is set up in a bespoke way, it's hard to troubleshoot because it's not a one-size-fits-all program.

**What do you like best about Bloomreach?**

I enjoy the freedom of data manipulation, templating, and personalization with Bloomreach. There seems to be a solution to most things already without having to wait for releases. I would also like to add that the support chat function is great. I mention in my following statement some fallbacks in the support side but this is mainly targeted at L2. The Bloomreach support agents do an incredible job in assisting with any queries. Whether it be regarding projects we are working on or just genreal questions about platform. 9 times out of 10 I am set on my way after reaching out.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

There are a few bugs that pop up at times and it is hard for support to replicate them. This usually ends with the case being closed and no solution to the problem. For instance, we had an issue where all of our campaigns/assets were being moved to one initiative. This was looked into for a while and nothing was concluded. It is often I see small bugs that would be hard to replicate in a ticket as an example, so I tend to leave them. That said, the platform is very complex and things such as these can be expected.

I really like that Bloomreach's platform UX is top level, and its features are expansive. It covers everything I need, from email campaigns to automation, to weblayers and seamless integrations with Facebook, which really elevates our CRM. I find the ability to have highly personalized weblayers or display them based on behavior incredibly useful for connecting with our fans. The people we worked with at Bloomreach on setting up our project are some of the best I've worked with, which added tremendous value to the experience.

The platform is a specialised marketing tool, so it can feel complex to use at first. However, as you become more familiar with it, it quickly becomes second nature.

I love the weblayer feature because it's so adaptable. The new AI Loomi feature makes personalization much easier and allows us to quickly analyze data. Weblayers enable us to create targeted messages on our website without heavy development work. Additionally, Bloomreach is much more powerful and allows us to be more flexible with our marketing communications. The initial setup was pretty easy, and integrating with our partners was seamless.

The learning curve could be improved. Video tutorials would be great as the documentation can be quite overwhelming, especially if they were uploaded to YouTube.

**What problems is Bloomreach solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Bloomreach to communicate with our guests on their preferred channels automatically. It simplifies personalization with weblayers for targeted messages and AI Loomi for quick data analysis. We switched from Airship because Bloomreach is more powerful and flexible for marketing comms.

I like that there are hardly any limitations with Bloomreach and it can cover many use cases, regardless of the industry. I particularly like creating flows or scenarios and creating customer attributes. You can build highly individualized, trigger-based flows with different rules that can be used across all channels, all in one flow. Additionally, I can create customer attributes individually, which allows us to learn even more about our customers, analyze them, and segment them.

Recommendations do not work so well for us, a product that is compatible with multiple products cannot be filtered.

Bloomreach is a central customer database for personalized CRM campaigns across all channels to increase CLV. I can create individual, triggered flows and customer attributes to learn more about our customers, analyze, and segment them.

I like the range and versatility of Bloomreach. It enables us to really dive deep into the data and create unique personalization and segments for our customers in a way we didn't have access to in the past. I also enjoy the scenario aspect of their engagement platform, as it allows us to automate some of our marketing processes and streamline the personalization process. This helps save my team time by letting the marketing happen autonomously. The versatility aspect lets us carve up data in many different ways, which allows us to ask questions we didn't have the ability to with other systems.

Because of the versatility of the tool, it can be a little challenging to ramp up with. They have a good academy course, but even that can be a little bit more IT-oriented. So helping business leaders understand some of those nuances, and transitioning to the reporting and analysis work to feel confident faster would be great.

I use Bloomreach for email marketing, and I find it very helpful for managing customer data and segmentations, creating reports, and sending out mass communications quickly and easily. I like that the data and events structure of Bloomreach is a lot more customizable than other providers, which gives a level of flexibility that you can't get with other out-of-the-box solutions. I can create new events or customer attributes much easier than on other platforms, allowing me more freedom to do my job without needing the help of the data or engineering teams. The initial setup was very easy when we switched to Bloomreach three years ago from Hubspot.

When looking at other providers, a feature I'd like to see Bloomreach work on is the 'wait until' trigger within scenarios. It is possible but not as user-friendly as others.

One challenge can be the naming conventions and how some data areas are structured, which can make things harder to navigate when fields are labelled differently. It would also be helpful to have live updates or previews when building emails. Haven't given a 10, because nobody is perfect!
The response on live chat is usually pretty swift which is great. You can ask all kinds of things and they'll try to help. Usually the answer is clear and gets you back on track.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

Sometimes I don't feel confident in the answer given - either in my understanding of the way they try to explain something, or that they truly understand it themselves!
When you duplicate things, they're just given exactly the same name. It would be helpful if they were given, for example, '(copy)' at the end of the title.

I appreciate Bloomreach for its data orchestration abilities, which connect different data sources and keep customer profiles updated in real-time. This ensures my campaigns are based on accurate and unified data. I love how Bloomreach allows me to trigger campaigns and use data through their CDXP platform via scenarios. It helps create highly personalized customer journeys. From a development perspective, I love how easy it is to launch almost anything fully personalized. The interface is powerful and advanced, yet easy to navigate. In my humble opinion, Bloomreach is one of the most powerful platforms for delivering relevant and precise experiences to customers.

Bloomreach is a very powerful tool with an advanced interface that's easy to use, but there are a few UX things that could help a lot. The platform can get pretty messy with duplications when many team members have access to the account. Improvements in cleaning up, like knowing who created what, the actual usage of attributes, scenarios, and alerting for duplications, would be great. But still it is one of the most powerfull tools we ever used.

You absolutely need to get Exponea for your business. It is amazing! Like magic, you can create almost everything you need inside. If you ever had troubles with your data or setting up new campaigns for acquisition or retention - Exponea will solve this with so many automatizations that are easy to use in your company - no matter how it is big.

**What do you like best about Bloomreach?**

I like that Bloomreach makes it easier to create segments and target the right customers at the right times. It's also great that there is almost nothing you can't do with Bloomreach as it combines content management, flow organizing, and data analysis all in one. We can create intelligent flows that cater to our target groups, analyze data, and tweak and adjust for the best results. I also find it helpful to use the integration to connect with Facebook for retargeting campaigns that target the right customers.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

There's no doubt that it's very technical and you need to take their courses to understand the setup. So I would say that you have to make an effort to understand the logic behind the site and setup.

**What do you like best about Bloomreach?**

I like how easy Bloomreach is to use and how things are clearly laid out. I appreciate using communication tools like email, push notifications, and in-app messaging to communicate across multichannels to our customer base, showing them their best offers and deals. These tools allow us to maintain a cross-channel marketing tone of voice, ensuring our customers see the same messages across multiple different channels.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

There aren't as many out-of-the-box tools as I would expect. Being able to see the communications that you've sent to customers isn't as user-friendly as I would like. It can be a little frustrating to be able to actually show what you've sent to a customer if you've got an email with dynamic data that's always changing. There was no blind CC functionality in emails, which has meant that we aren't able to use that functionality. The reporting element is a little bit confusing and overly complicated, especially for a business like mine where we don't have revenue and instead use clicks and engagements.

Bloomreach allows all our communications to be sent from one system and lets us use that data to provide personalized products and services to our customers.

Now that we are fully integrated, what I like most is the realization that almost any task or conceptual flow is achievable if you’re willing to think outside the box. That 'box' becomes infinitely bigger once you immerse yourself in what Bloomreach has to offer. By combining metrics, content sources, Loomi, expressions, customized content blocks, and webhooks, almost anything is possible.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

I would like to see more integrated solutions for our problems. As mentioned in my positive feedback, we are always trying to 'think out of the box' to make things work but the ideal should be an easy, scalable solution right from the start. I want Bloomreach to focus on better integrating these powerful tools and making them easier to use. Ultimately, the goal should be that technical skill level doesn't matter anymore; the system should just work.

Their documentation leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of the guides are vague or do not actually explain how to best structure data for best results. A clearer guide about what fields would be most beneficial to populate, and with what values is needed. Examples on how to import different data types like Booleans would be helpful. The strong recommendation to have two catalogs was not in the documentation.

I think my favorite aspects are the scenarios in Bloomreach. The scenarios make building targeted communications to our database really easy with the node format. I use the nodes to set targeting requirements, like targeting people based on their country location, which helps me a lot because we're a global business sending customer emails to multiple countries. The nodes also clearly helps whether they've engaged, or bought certain products recently, and this format makes building the targeting for these emails easier than other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Bloomreach?**

I think the reporting aspect could be improved from a user experience perspective. I wish Bloomreach had one easy report or built-in dashboards that I could open up and use to quickly get the stats I need. Right now, if a colleague asks me for stats on a certain campaign, it takes a lot longer than it should because I will have scenarios.

I like that Bloomreach offers dynamic recommendations based on the user, utilizing different algorithms. It's pretty okay for personalization, recommending products based on the data you provide.

From a usability standpoint, it's very technical, and you will need to hire a technical consultant from Bloomreach to develop the scenarios, which is an extra cost. Initially, during negotiations, they will underestimate the number of processed events you actually need to lure you in with a lower investment. Once you are signed up, they will insist you are far below the processed events you require. They even pushed us to upgrade six tiers above our initial quote. Another big extra cost.

I use Bloomreach for dynamic recommendations in email, which are based on user data and various algorithms.

The ease of use, I find that the different functions of the platform are very well distributed which makes it easy to navigate around. I also appreciate the speed of execution of tasks and results. Filtering for customers and building segmentation is very fast and easy you can have a overview of your customers in no time.

I feel that the BeeFree editor could use some additional functionalities and improvements on current functions. A option for using SQL queries to filter customers and items from catalogs would be very useful as well, especially for people who are using catalogs as Product feeds and need to filter for specific inventory check or such.

It is helping my clients increase the volume of people they can reach with their emails while providing a much better service with more up to date content than previously.
