Very little downsides. Some implementations can become costly, but this one was not. We really appreciate the development time that went into the Shopify app. Most people just make an app in the Shopify store and leave it, aloglia actually put considerable time into the app and has done a really nice job of improving the app over time. Non tech users may have trouble customizing themselves without dev help beyond basic settings if they use a plug and play app (of which there are many for Algolia -- they work great and are well documented, but someone wanting to do a lot of customizations themselves without technical know how may require a developer). The software fulfill all the requirements for web searching purposes, has an optimal use of digital resources who helps a lot in the performance during the use of the software in the computer. The results for the searching process were outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'll prefer a cleaner user interface, the current one is useful but it can be more friendly with the end-user. Also the learning curve for the software it's quite rude, it can be easier to use with a friendly interface and tutorials or hints. Algolia was easy to integrate, and their platform makes it easy to customize the search experience based on our product and customer needs. We had originally built our own search experience but found that transitioning over to Algolia gave us the ability to constantly be delivering an excellent experience to users without needing to maintain the search technology on our own.
