Description

Airbase is the only truly comprehensive spend management platform available to small and midsize companies. It brings three products into one system: all-inclusive accounts payable automation, software-enabled corporate cards, and simplified employee expense reimbursements. Airbase applies consistent and robust approval workflows across all products, it automates accounting, and provides real-time reporting for all non-payroll spend. Our innovative accounting and operational automation results in a faster close, better visibility, and true control over all spend. Most companies rely on a combination of siloed software products, spreadsheets, and manual workarounds to pay vendors and reimburse employees. Airbase spend management eliminates the resulting messy tech-stack and inefficient processes by replacing products like Expensify and Bill.com. Airbase empowers employees with an easy, uniform approach to spending company money, whether that involves corporate card spend, raising a purchase order, or requesting reimbursement. Unlock trapped talent, eliminate wasted spend, build healthy spend culture with Airbase.

What do you like best about Airbase?

Invoice reconciliation is made amazing easy and quick. Before my team was using outdated tools and processes to reconcile invoices. Airbase has transformed this process, and made it easier to request virtual cards and POs for certain paid marketing channels and vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

When requesting POs and virtual cards - there is no way to go back and duplicate a request. For example when a PO request is denied I receive an email notification stating this, and I have no way to access the denied PO. This leads to more work as I would need to request a PO from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airbase has helped my team solve invoice reconciliation and spend tracking issues. Managing monthly invoicing for several vendors was made simple, as in the past it was a confusing and elongated process. PO request process was solidified, and spend tracking is clear cut. All in all Airbase has helped reduce work hours by providing a quick and easy process to reconcile invoices, request POs and virtual cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

Airbase is super easy to use, and the best features are those that make it easy and transparent to see what's happening with my request. I can see who's reviewing it in case I need to reach out, and once completed, my reimbursement is automatically sent to my account. It works seamlessly, and I'm never concerned that something will go wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

Airbase was a bit difficult to use at first, only because it was important for me to ensure I was selecting the proper options according to company policy. If there was a way for companies to reduce the number of dropdown options for different employees according to what they are allowed to use, this learning curve could likely be eliminated, as could mistakes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airbase makes it easy to submit my receipts to be quickly and accurately reimbursed, and because the process is so seamless, I'm more comfortable making purchases knowing that the reimbursement process via Airbase is quick and painless, and safe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

All data and relevant information is available somewhere in there. Easy to submit mileage and expenses, easy to upload receipts for personal cards. Those functionalities are really helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

lots of dead white space (i.e. "Add approvers" for invoices); when you click "add" for the approvers, it doesn't let you click approve until the bubble leaves and the bubble is literally right in front of the approve button for some reason, even though there's a lot of dead white space. Boundary lines are a light gray and it's hard to see; like checkboxes are tiny and i cant see them when i'm on a construction site and it's bright outside. like if i'm adding an approver for example, and i type someone's name, why can't i click their name and i have to find that tiny checkbox all the way to the right i can't see? i know this is hard for our construction guys who have a harder time with technology.

though all information is there somewhere for invoices, it's hard to find where it is, it's not in one single easy-to-read and clearly labeled central location, and it's often labeled unclearly (i.e, why are other invoices for this vendor linked that are more prominent than the actual project name and information itself?)

Also - why can't i search invoices by vendor or by project for my company as a whole? it makes no sense that i'm blocked to view invoices if this is where all invoices are. just because i didnt approve doesnt mean i dont get calls from vendors asking about invoices as a whole, or i need data from other things to inform my projects.

i think this platform has a lot of potential but i think it needs to be simplified for real-life users who work out in the field and not on a computer (i.e. on a phone or ipad) and do a high volume of work and dont have the luxury of scrolling forever to find things or visiting hidden tabs or links that take you away from the thing you're actually trying to review, or important functionality that's not front and center. What do you like best about Airbase?

Airbase has completely streamlined the way I manage expenses! One of my favorite features is how I can simply take a picture of a receipt, and AI takes care of everything—uploading, saving, and extracting the details automatically. The receipt matching feature is also a game-changer; when I receive a receipt in my inbox, it seamlessly matches it to the correct transaction, saving me tons of time.

I also love the bulk report functionality, which lets me group multiple expenses into a single report, making the submission process much more efficient. Plus, having an Airbase card synced with my Google Pay is incredibly convenient—I just tap to pay, scan my receipt, and Airbase does the rest by automatically matching it to the transaction.

Overall, Airbase takes the hassle out of expense tracking, making everything smooth and effortless. Highly recommend! 🚀 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

Airbase is a powerful tool, but there are a few enhancements that would make it even better:

A customizable auto-fill feature that remembers how I’ve categorized a specific provider in the past, rather than always relying on AI suggestions.

The ability to bulk edit descriptions, departments, and categories instead of updating each receipt individually.

A memory function for recurring expenses, so it remembers my previous coding and descriptions for consistency.

The option to edit, add, or remove expenses from a report after submission (as long as it’s not approved yet) for more flexibility.

A more user-friendly bill payment dashboard, with clearer visual indicators (e.g., green for paid, red for unpaid) and reminders/notifications for overdue bills to help stay on track.

With these improvements, Airbase could be even more efficient and user-friendly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airbase solves several key challenges in expense management, making my workflow much more efficient:

- Automated Receipt Processing: No more manually entering expense details—Airbase’s AI reads receipts, extracts the data, and matches them to transactions automatically. This saves me a lot of time and reduces errors.

- Seamless Transaction Matching: When I receive a receipt via email, Airbase automatically links it to the correct expense, eliminating the hassle of searching for receipts and transactions manually.

- Bulk Reporting: Instead of submitting expenses one by one, I can create one report for multiple expenses, making the process much faster.

- Integrated Payments: Having an Airbase card synced with Google Pay means I can pay instantly and trust that my expenses will be tracked and categorized correctly.

- Better Visibility & Control: Airbase helps me keep track of my spending in one place, reducing the back-and-forth with finance teams and making approvals and reimbursements more seamless.

Overall, Airbase saves me time, reduces manual effort, and makes expense tracking effortless! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

Airbase is seamless in managing payroll and reimbursements. Gone are the days of manually needing to email someone receipts, or invoices for them to manually setup an wire.

It's made it possible for us to manage how we'd like to be paid (without having to ask HR for manual updates) and reimbursed at the click of a button. The virtual cards system makes it possible to constrain vendors to only charging a specific amount per review cycle, thereby minimizing the possibility of overpayments and unauthorized transactions.

At the same time, we also equip employees with physical visa cards powered by Airbase. There's never been a situation where it's gotten declined, things just work. We run all our expenses through it, migrating it all over was quite easy.

Data extraction from automatically forwarded receipts is mostly bang on as well, there's only been a few situations where we've had to manually edit anything. Overall, very happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

The reimbursement compilation screen is a bit difficult to navigate. You're supposed to upload receipts, and then compile them into expense reports for reimbursement.

The fact that this is two steps can be quite cumbersome if you forget to upload something first. You have to go back, do the upload and then come back to recompile the report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

As someone who used to dread expense reports, Airbase has been a game-changer. Seriously, it's like night and day compared to the old manual processes. My favorite thing by far is how incredibly fast and easy it is to submit expenses. I can snap photos of receipts with my phone, and they're automatically uploaded and categorized. The app is super intuitive; I figured it out in minutes.

Side note, I contacted support once because my account was locked out (my employer issue, not Airbase) and they responded within a few hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

While Airbase is fantastic, there are a couple of minor things I'd like to see improved. Occasionally, the automatic categorization of expenses isn't perfect, and I have to manually adjust it. It's not a huge deal, but it would be even better if the AI was a bit more accurate. Also, while the mobile app is great, I've noticed that sometimes it can be a little slow to load, especially when I have a lot of receipts to upload. These are just minor inconveniences, though, and they certainly don't outweigh the many benefits of using Airbase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Manual expense reporting. Taking pictures on my phone is fast, and it also is able to insert merchant and transaction details automagically. I have little to no errors I have to correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

I like that Airbase has a functional app that makes submitting expense reports easy. I like the various options it gives you for things like round-trip expenses and to omit your personal distance. Also the ability to add multiple expenses under one group is nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

I like that there's a "choose your route" selection for mileage reimbursement but often times I find myself not using any of the options provided. If there was a way to import my trip from Maps or Waze that would be really great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

It calculates my mileage for me which is convenient so I don't have to remember to deduct certain trips or to clock my mileage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

I would say the simplistic UI of airbase is one of the best ive seen over the years of working with reimbursement tools. Some have made it wildly difficult to the point where you get frustrated and wonder if its worth it for small amounts of money Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

the only downside that I personally see is that I always start out with a new request and then realized that i need to import the file into airbase rather thsn attaching the photo of the receipt to the new request i just started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

i work fully remote (2000 miles away from my main office) and need to get equipment or travel and it always an easy way to get reimbursed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Airbase?

I’ve been using AirBase for a bit now, and honestly, it’s pretty solid. It makes handling expenses and approvals way easier—goodbye to endless spreadsheets! The integration with QuickBooks is a lifesaver, and the budget controls are a dream. The interface is super easy to use, even if you're not a finance whiz.

Only downside? The mobile app could use a little TLC—it works, but it's not as snazzy as the desktop version.

All in all, AirBase is a great tool that saves me time and headaches. Solid 8/10 from me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

The platform is pretty powerful, but it can get confusing. The interface isn’t always intuitive, and I found myself repeating tasks just to understand how things work. The learning curve is real—takes some time to wrap your head around it.

Also, while the integrations are nice, sometimes they don’t sync as smoothly as I’d hope. The mobile app could be a lot better too.

Overall, it does the job once you get the hang of it, but it’s definitely not the most user-friendly experience. I’d give it a 6/10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

AirBase’s expense tool has been a game-changer for us. It makes tracking and approving expenses super easy, saving time and reducing errors. The budget controls are simple to set up, and the real-time reporting keeps everything transparent. Plus, the integration with accounting tools means less manual work. Overall, it's helped streamline our processes and kept our spending in check. Highly recommend it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I also like the flexible options it gives for submitting different types of expenses and requests for company funding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airbase?

I do feel there is a bit much happening on the dashboard which while it can be helpful to have those options ready and waiting on log in, does also add to the time in getting used to the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
