Adobe Media Optimizer was useful in showing deeper data that the search engines couldn't show in their interface. The search engines were good for revealing the first level of conversions but AMO allowed us to see how each keyword performed beyond CPA with the information that was being fed into the tool from us. This was very important as the initial conversion (or lead) wasn't always indicative of overall performance. We also had a dedicated team member focused on help us iron out all the bugs and issues we frequently came across... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The frequent issues in the tool we would discover. The dedicated team member was definitely a bonus but I'd rather have a consistently reliable tool than an extra hand to help guide us through the issues. We would find ourselves double checking things in the search engines to make sure the data AMO was displaying was correct...The last straw that caused me to stop using AMO was when the tool showed that we weren't spending on certain keywords and it turns out we were! The terms showed as paused in AMO but were actually active. Luckily we had some room in the budget but the spend is a big factor in controlling performance! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the integration with the rest of Adobe's analytics solutions, particularly Sitecatalyst where we manage all of the web analytics for our properties on a global basis. In addition, its easy to bring in data from outside sources to do optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It often takes a long time to load data and attribution tables. It could be the configuration we have but its slow. We also seem to have some challenges pulling all of our relevant data into Discover. Again I think it's a configuration challenge. Doing an initial launch its often hard for businesses as large as ours to get it right the first time and it would be helpful to have more expert guidance up front. Our analytics team is separate from our marketing team and that doesn't always make it easier it just adds more complexity, especially when they don't have admin access. Discover - Added on tool, but worth the cost. Discover allows you to see how different people are traveling through your site by either keyword, ad, campaign - you name it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Bid strategy functionality. It only looks at data over the last 2 weeks and that's likely inefficient for many campaigns. You also need to click on several buttons both after you make changes in the UI or from Google/Bing. If you forget, then tracking will be way off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool frees you up and takes over mundane tasks like ad building (social) and applies scientific keyword bidding. This time allows us to focus on more strategic, campaign-growing strategies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Paperwork and contracts are the most frustrating part of AMO, however, you should only deal with that if you are an agency utilizing the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
More robust platform for online campaign management. New enhanced feature of in bidding algorithms and user interface changes enables the an improved ROI on Ad spend. Optimizer speaks well with a myriad of platforms and the customization of reporting is ideal for various campaign tracking and segmentation. Simple to establish various accounts and personas. As with most Adobe products it requires their tech. support to implement, often is pricey and time consuming which impacts the budget, manpower and timelines. The new features can be difficult to understand, but often new sources of education can be located. Also, locks the business into Adobe and learning the new terminology from Google can be challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform has the potential to greatly reduce the amount of money you are spending on SEM, while increasing the efficiency of every dollar spent. In my opinion, there's no alternative to a bid optimizer, and I believe that Adobe Media Optimizer is one of the best products on the market. I also like the agency-like model, that allows clients to have their account managed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UX can be cumbersome at times, and there are definitely the occasional glitches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy for you to build your portfolios to be modelled to achieve your set goals and do it in the most efficient way.
The reporting aspect of the program is also great. Media optimizer gives you the ability to track complete conversions all the way back to the paid ad that resulted in conversion, as well as the keyword that was searched.
Before the actual optimization process begins, there is a period of learning for the tool that allows it to conduct hypothetical, but statistical based modelling that allows you to see what sort of optimization to expect before spending actual budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Initial code implementation can be difficult, depending on the size and style of the website you are trying to implement it on. Use of the new Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager can make this project significantly easier.
The process to getting your website up and running with the optimizer engine can be lengthy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The portfolio optimizer allows you to easily set goals for a set of campaigns to be optimized towards. It has a fair amount of reporting options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the optimizer is easy to setup, I've found it to be lacking in most everything else. It is not very good at controlling a budget and it also does not always seem to appear able to move the needle in terms of conversions. While the black box approach provides for an easy setup, it does not allow for custom logic to be used. Adobe also always seems to be behind the ball in terms of updating their platform with the latest and greatest engine products. Lastly, I have found their customer service to be lacking. At times it can take days to get a response and often the response is unsatisfactory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is the first thing that comes to mind when speaking of Adobe Media Optimizer.
Being able to see performance across channels with ease is a must have, and Adobe has done it right! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although more is better sometimes, having too many options may get confusing when your goal is to easily see across channels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

All Adobe Analytics engagement or conversion metrics are available for optimization. Whether I'm at the office or out on the road, I can integrate data from any online or offline source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Quite difficult to explain the purpose of the tool to non-digital people. Interface not entirely intuitive to Adobe newbies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
