Automation of Jobs, Reporting, and other processes. We have been able to automate 95% of our nightly processing allowing our nighttime staff to be repurposed to do other maintenance. Using the different kinds of controls, we have not found a process that could not be automated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unless you know exactly where to find jobs, it can be difficult to find some jobs in the Daily Activity Screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Active Batch has some great features built in which makes it easier for any person with basic technical knowledge to jump right in and start building some automated processes. Its secret management is also pretty useful being able to store any credentials or client secrets needed for jobs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My main issue with Active Batch is when you get to the point of writing complicated scripts touching multiple systems it becomes impossible to read in there "drag and drop" system. We tend to write our scripts in power shell and just execute them from Active Batch now but then it feels a really heavy for what its being utilized for. So if your planning some simple process automation then Active Batch will work for you but if you need something bigger i would look elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Showstopper feature of Active Batch is all the ETL jobs whether file transfer, configuration, processing queues etc are accessible in one place. The GUI makes implementation more comfortable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times, if there are too many jobs/queues setup in Active Batch, it becomes little difficult to remember the configurations/schedules etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I implemented Activabatch at LA Metro back in 2018. My developers love it so much because it is so easy to use and creating a job is becoming a very simple task for them via a template that I created for them. The template has steps that cover all the scenarios so you no longer have to babysit your jobs anymore. For example, if your job is successful you have the option to send an email to your support staff members otherwise, if your job fails with an error or aborts you or your support staff members will automatically receive an email alert. Also, with the versioning control you can keep track of what the changes are and for some reasons you need to go back to a prior version you could do that easily. After more than 2 years, I have gained more exeprience and knowledge with Activebatch I started to take advantage of Activebatch web services. recently, I successfully integrated Activebatch into an in-house reporting system written in VB.NET using Activebatch Commands API. The users now can easily submit jobs and view the generated reports within the reporting system without having to use Activebatch console. In addition, I just upgraded Activabatch from verion 10 to version 12. Let me tell you, the new Activebatch console is much open and nicer because it take advantage of the whole screen and give you a feeling of completeness. My next project will be to enhance the VB.NET Reporting system to use the new Activebatch REST API instead of the Activebatch Commands web service. What I like most about Activabatch it is a software that keeps evolving and coming up with new fuctionality and features to make automation easier and easier to accomplish without bounderies. I wish that the user guide has more real-life examples. Believe or not I learned a lot from the examples. Also, what I dislike the most is the need to use of self-signed certificate for the Activebatch Rest API. I personally find this approach is cumbersome and sometimes even confusing and hard to setup. Fortunately, there is a workaround; you could add a variable #ActiveBatch.UseJSSWS=0 to force Activebatch to trigger jobs via COM instead of the Rest API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Automation-Email facility - Scheduling module - Integration of 3rd party alert system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrade is little tough. I am using last 15 years with old version and hence couple of things we can't do but I am sure in never version it can be overwrite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
