The high availability is a bit wonky and occasionally requires intervention to fail back to primary. Seetting up and maintaining jobs will be a full time job for a single technician.
I'd reccommend having a low level tech become the 'active Batch' person. That way this person becomes more familiar with the local working environment while maintining the Active batch Jobs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to set custom schedules, write custom scripts for automation and perform self-upgrades are a few of my favorite features of ActiveBatch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Reporting Facility leaves much to be desired. It is a bit cumbersome to install and configure and the canned report selection is lacking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ActiveBatch has a diverse set of options for building jobs to encompass a range of application and system automation needs. The job library is a great tool to plan out each step of a process, executing a variety of script types is convenient for integrating existing configurations, and utility jobs make building out new sets of jobs in bulk much less of a burden. I am currently using ActiveBatch Version 11. The one think that i dislike about this version is that when you want to see the properties of the job you are unable to have the property window open and the job steps of the job visible at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of various workflow capabilities. The workflow object data and relationships are stored in sql database which can allow you to integrate with other tools, but ActiveBatch doesn't support that process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Documentation: is held like its gold...ActiveBatch folks get your documentation on the open web allow people to freely use it, your documentation doesn't make your product viable....your product capabilities are what makes your product viable!
2. ActiveBatch as a Windows COM tool that you can use for 3rd party integration but that would limit you to a windows box, work with outdated COM technology, and dig-up those skills that are best kept buried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
