Support for a large swath of functionality out of the box without having to write a ton of custom code Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the syntax for certain actions was hard to intuit e.g. Accessing columns within a returned TSQL query. Also the occasional but in the Admin tool and Change Management - minor issues and nothing that has caused missed / misrun jobs or anything of that nature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ActiveBatch provides a simple interface for creating drag / drop workflows to automate numerous types of tasks. It integrates with numerous Operating systems and applications to turn manual tasks into automated work flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrades tend to have a slight hiccup every now then. Support will perform upgrades with you which is a plus though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customize the schedule and trigger the next job after completion with alert systems. Also We can create a plan to schedule no of jobs in that we can use dependencies as well. which helps us to run our batch during night and no manual interference. Right now we are able to move all our jobs to AB and its working as expected. Also We have scheduled some jobs for our new tool ICEDQ which is our testing automation tool. I also like copy and paste the plan or tasks inside the AB which simplify user job.
Also, Below are the some best things about AB:
1. Flexibility
2. Compatibility
3. Robustness.
4. Alert system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime AB hanged and wont back after few runs. Also i figured in my recent time that even after we disable the job it runs quite few times before it actually disabled. The one thing AB can do is provide just a robust solution to inbuilt scheduled based on time day and even for months. which helps user directly schedule any kind of jobs. Also there should be more functionality for connect different DBs application like AS400. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ActiveBatch allows for simple templated job execution with variable replacement based on object location and other factors. Being primarily a Windows-based organization, the use of Active Directory to control access is very easy. Support for REST and SOAP APIs allow advanced users to interact with the platform across different services. Product knowledgebase and training can be useful for getting users up-to-speed, and we have found their customer service to be very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Auditing large numbers of job executions can be difficult, the Map design feature is slightly clunky, and we would prefer stronger support for cloud-native services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best feature is the ability to trigger a job or plan based on a presence of a dependent file or not; this allows for a tighter scheduling scheme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not seen anything about ActiveBatch that I don't like as of yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to use canned jobs from a jobs library allows you to quickly create jobs which cuts down on overall job creation time. There is a ton of flexibility with job scheduling with the use of business day calendars as well as holiday calendars. A big issue for us was knowing when an error happened and what specifically happened so we could resolve the issue quickly and get the job running again. With ActiveBatch you can create custom alert objects specific to the particular job you are running, which allow you trap specific errors and perform actions related to those errors. The logging in ActiveBatch is also top-notch; if there is an error in a job it provides very detailed logs to help you troubleshoot and quickly diagnose issues when they occur. There is also change control functionality built into the application. If you make a change to a job and need to roll it back, you can do it in just a few clicks. It also tracks the changes so you can see what has changed with the job over it's lifetime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using the software for about 8 years and have not found anything we do not like. The software just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reduction of coding is substantial in a lot of cases. Once you have created a specific job(template) that can be easily be replicated to another job, then minimal changes. Vast and flexible scheduler options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The new GUI of v12 is good but is slower than in the previous version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very easy to organize jobs. We have multiple environments and clients and having the tree directory format makes it easy to create folders and sub-folders to accommodate this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No reporting is provided in regards to targeting a list of jobs that do xyz or being able to search and provide search results in a report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool comes with built in 'job steps' which enable just about any level of experience to generate a meaningful workflow. In this way it is very beginner friendly, but it is also robust and flexible enough to benefit users with complex requirements! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are minor nuisances with the new user interface. However, these things will get smoothed out over time as users share their experiences with the ActiveBatch team. Knowledgebase could use some work but they make up for that with an educational ActiveBatch Academy and good support lines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Automated Schedulers with flexible scheduling around days, months, year and custom-built calendars, completion triggers that allow you built the custom workflow and chain of events based on the completed processing steps and exit codes, various exit codes that can accommodate business logic and processing workflow changes based on the exit code passed from one step to another or even to another job, support of File Transfer Protocol and Secure File Transfer Protocols where you can define the download/upload files using variables that can reflect the dynamic file names based on the custom-defined naming convention and validation rules, file watchers that we used widely throughout many processing workflows that serve us as the trigger to start the processing or generate an alert which can push notification of the missing file directly to the vendor or third party which also helps with product support and operations having alerts and notifications built around the processing. Some of the prod issues we have experienced are still not addressed by the Enterprise Support, support tickets remain unanswered/no solution provided to the problem reported. We had a RETRY Logic failing around several jobs in a PRODUCTION environment while running as expected on several other nodes/identical environments. This has been sitting unresolved for almost six months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
