Tree structure for objects is much more efficient for data separation between Prod and Non-Prod and between clients, projects or groups.
Having recent experience with a product that used a flat structure, I have greater appreciation for it. Imagine having a file system that allowed only a root folder and a single layer of child folders, no other subfolders. AB, in contrast, allows subfolders.
The Execution Queue paradigm in AB makes selecting which servers run jobs extremely easy.
Exporting objects from AB is remarkably easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface in version 12 is not as good as previous version as some columns are not well aligned and V12 layouts require window resizing to see some data fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Have used on prem windows server, did not get a chance to work on lot with activebatch with cloud integration as cloud native orchestration tools like ADF supports most of the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ability to centralize the job and manage in a single software. Almost any IT Workload if you can design the job. Easy to use the job library steps. Also, queue systems to run the jobs in the pool of queues will work like magic. Easy to manage software reliability improved much recently. Job schedulers in windows and Agents can be in the Unix platforms. Plan's are great to put the business process in the streamlined control process that makes it interesting and easy to spot a problem in the flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though many of the job steps are easily understandable, some parameters in the job steps description help are not visible in the software. ASCI provided knowledge base should need filter based on version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite feature of ActiveBatch Workload Automation is the increase in efficiency which it provides due to the huge number of available functions. We especially derive value from the improved connections it has with other software such as ERP and CRM systems. This has helped in enhancing our operations as it has eliminated a lot of paperwork, redundancies and mistakes. It has also let us to concentrate on additional and more relevant activities due to the regular utilization of its automation functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A potential drawback of ActiveBatch is the fact that the system’s installation may entail some complexities in the beginning and requires considerable efforts. This made it more complex especially because they required additional resources in order for the process to be up and running. Also, some aspects of the features look somewhat unpolished and give a vintage vibe, which only adds to the inefficiency of the program. While using the software, there are some areas that were problematic, so it would be nice to see updates often to correct such problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think ActiveBatch Workload Automation is well equipped to meet almost every need as a workload automation tool due to its versatility. It excels in its capability to synchronize the different systems and applications enhancing our workflow effectively. The management console provides centralization and control over the operations thus making it easy to monitor and diagnose various issues. This integration with other software like ERP systems and cloud platforms takes this to another level allowing for enhanced orchestration of work and integration of data. ActiveBatch Workload Automation has many features that provide operational benefits which could be a disadvantage for some users because of the software’s intricacy. The lesson to be learned from full exploitation involves a range of experiences that sometimes give rise to disadvantages and difficulties in implementation. In particular, one notes that sometimes there are technical problems that disrupt the workflows and these problems may relate to compatibility issues with certain particular programs as the issues have to be resolved manually, which might take considerable time and is generally annoying. ActiveBatch Workload Automation is very strong in terms of feature numbers and very powerful in terms of integration with other software. We decided to implement it within our data management systems, which had a very positive impact on the flow of our work. The interaction which was earlier done manually and could lead to errors have been eliminated since we are now able to automate them hence our team can work on other complex tasks. However, its written and graphical reporting features have enhanced our capacity to track and revise procedures as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A disadvantage of ActiveBatch Workload Automation is that there are very few opportunities for configuring it specifically for certain process types. Sometimes this constraint results in such people having to bend the system to their ways instead of the other way round. Also, the deployment and installation of the environment may take time, and it may be tiresome at first. These limitations have left us in a position that we have not been able to fine tune this software to fit our operations as desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Flexibility of ActiveBatch is the game changer. Creating jobs with the user interface is simple and ordered, thus, it is user-friendly even for complicated operations. The built-in choices are rather extensive, which minimizes the necessity for custom scripts. A licensing per agent machine, not per job, is an excellent feature, which makes us to scale effectively. In addition, the ActiveBatch Support team is outstanding in terms of response and resolution time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times, it can be a bit of a nuisance to work with complex scripts across several systems. Although drag and drop functionality is useful, it becomes unreadable for larger projects and simple process automation has to be sought elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I love most about the ActiveBatch Workload Automation is the simplicity of this tool despite the amount of complexity it is managing. Simple to use feature help in its quick adoption and its process workflows are in a good state because of its straight forward integration with other tools. In the department, the adoption rate is high as it speeds up the processes and omits errors. Although the abundance in choices is good news, the significance of the customization feature which makes automation fit in our personalized needs is instrumental. Even tho ActiveBatch Workload Automation has many great features, it may still require for their customer service to be a little more responsive. Delays in solving technical problems taken aback our work procedure sometimes. Besides that, the quite complex UI might be another obstacle for some individual users who have to put in additional time to get acquainted with the tool and training for its usage. I am using ActiveBatch Workload Automation for a while now, and it definitely made the process of task management and execution easier for me as a mobile application development engineer. The availability of templated jobs has brought me remarkably time-saving, especially with the approach of variable replacement that fits perfectly with dynamic data handling in app creation. Nevertheless, script management on Active Batch is somehow complicated, especially with regard to handling power shell scripts as well as planning automation for the larger and more complex systems. At times the interface is a bit heavy what means that it can slow down my workflow when I have to perform tasks fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
