Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

I started to use Action1 RMM few months ago and I really like it. I can manage staff computers easily and make sure that the devices are alway up to date with impotarnt and critical updates. It is not really a dislike but one thing I would like to see in the future is a quicker timeline for the new improvements on the road map. Other than that, thank you Action1! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

I was looking for a solution for a non-profit organization and found Action1. Patch management, remote desktop, asset management, remote PowerShelletc. all under the same web-based platform and free to use under 100 endpoints. I have been completely satisfied and amazed by Action1 RMM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes it takes too much time to switch between monitors in remote desktop. Asset management could be better and easier to use. Only in english, more languages would be welcomed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is a great online platform to manage all your computers and servers on the network. It has software deployment, patch management, and remote machine access. And best of all, 100 endpoints are included for free! You can create schedules and policies to automate some of the processes. Software and hardware inventories are easy to generate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I have no issues with the software so far. The hardest part was deploying the agents on all the machines. But that can be simplified using GPO or any other deployment software you may have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

As the number of computers in an organization increases, keeping them update to date with security patches is important and time-consuming. Action1 simplifies the whole process plus also allows for remote access for tech support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You can precisely organize your environment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

If you going to manage multiple organizations(ex: freelancer) you'll need the different email addresses for each(or use aliases). For action1 better to allow one person to participate in multiple projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

As an azure user it is pretty difficult to provide updates for third-party apps. Action1 solves this, even for free if you are under 100 endpoints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I've had limited success with the built-in remote access tool. Since we already have another tool, I have not tried to troubleshoot it further. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 RMM ensures that our machines are up-to-date without requiring manually pushing updates to endpoints. It allows our IT staff to focus on growth opportunities rather than focusing allow of our time on patches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The Action1 team is responsive to customer inquiries and developing sought-after features. The remote viewer capability works well and meets my basic needs. I'm still working away at the patch management but it appears to be sufficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Most of the items I dislike seem to be in the queue for updating. As an SMB, most of my computers differ from one another. I have to develop many different policies and processes to deploy computer-specific updates (drivers, firmware, etc.) to these machines. Action1 can do it, but so far, I've had to use multiple windows open to view the necessary information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Action1:

The free 100 endpoint trial is worthwhile to ensure Action1 meets your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I needed a replacement for another RMM product which went freemium. Action1 was beginning its operations, and I decided to give them a chance. The agent installation was easy. I can spend more time on other business activities than updating the computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very few down-sides. I wish Macintosh capability was working but they are working on adding it as a feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Allows real-time reporting of patching status and easy policy based updating Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
