Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

Product Description

Action1 reinvents patching with an infinitely scalable, highly secure, cloud-native platform configurable in 5 minutes — it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. Featuring unified OS and third-party patching with peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment with no VPN needed, it enables autonomous endpoint management that preempts ransomware and security risks, all while eliminating costly routine labor. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC and ISO 7001. How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

The best feature is how easy and quick it is to set up a remote point and maintain it in the future Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have not discovered any negative points yet. I would prefer to also have apple computers supported as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Easy to access remote hosts using a browser giving me the ability to manage clients remotely either by logging on or running commands over the internet or Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I need more time to really test out deploying custom applications which are not in the App Store. The ones in the App store install really well but would like to see more apps in the store, although, probably that would violate some software license terms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Action1:

There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't try out Action1. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Remotely managing my client's laptops and servers means I can monitor and update all machines from one location. It is also easy to apply scripts to multiple computers at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 RMM is very easy to use and configure. The user interface is easy to access and configure. Schedule of software patches only takes a few steps to configure and deploy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Only a few things I dislike about Action1 RMM. Would like for easier configuration of the deployer utility. Also for it to work on Work group computers also instead of only computers on a domain would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is solving the problem of Windows and software patching of software. Instead on having to manually go to each computer, we can schedule what and at what time to install the patches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The user interface is extremely intuitive. Setting up new packages for installation is straightforward, and the customer service is prompt and very knowledgeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

There have been some issues with endpoint discovery that I have not been able to clear up yet. However, that is the only issue I've had with Action1 RMM to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 has been extremely useful for getting our endpoints updated, both regarding Windows patching, and upgrading components for our CRM software suite, which went through a recent version upgrade. I was able to get workstations upgraded quickly and remotely whereas in the past, I would have had to sign into individual workstations to perform the upgrades. What do you like best about Action1?

I've been really enjoying the increased insight into the machines that I manage. Remote access is also another highlight. Being able to update and install software (beyond just Windows updates) is the icing on the cake. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

There is nothing that I truly dislike at the moment. My wishlist of features does include support for Linux and macOS so that I can truly have a single solution for the computers I support in my job as well as my outside support work. I'm patient and will be first in line to test this when it is released. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Action1:

If you're looking for your first RMM, and are in a Windows Shop, you will find Action1 RMM to be a great fit. If you're mainly supporting friends/family and need a product without a monthly fee, Action1 is also a great fit. The only scenario where I cannot currently recommend Action1 is for environments with Linux and/or macOS machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having all the information presented in a "single pane of glass" has been responsible for reducing my stress level. I have mainly been enjoying the new insights into patch levels on the machines I manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

As a small MSP I've been looking for a good way to manage my group of small business clients, some of which include just a single PC. Patch management and software deployment have been my biggest challenges and with Action1 I FINALLY have a great way to manage everything across multiple clients with a single pane of glass. Deploying software has never been easier. Patch Management is now a simple morning task where I can quickly approve whatever updates I deem appropriate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Some of the views require too many clicks to see which machines are involved. I'd also like to be able to choose an endpoint and see what software is installed right there, rather than finding software and seeing which endpoints it's installed on. Biggest problem, though, was I set up multiple organizations but found it too difficult to manage separately. I had to re-deploy as Groups under one organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Patch management; software deployment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
