Too many endpoint management solutions these days have you jump through hoops before you can even get to the point of downloading an agent. Action1 had such little friction in getting started that it was mere minutes before I had PCs populating the dashboard. Especially as part of a small organization, it was a big deal that we were able to try out Action1 quickly to discover that it would hit the sweet spot in terms of features we desired in endpoint management for us. The dashboard UI feels a little "floaty,", especially in terms of the speed that endpoints end up executing requested/policy-applied actions. I was informed via email that this is constantly being worked on and improved. In addition, some things take too many clicks (e.g., Approving software updates to the latest version requires declining previous versions. This did require a click per version but has since been reduced to a single click per application, so it is improving, just still feels cumbersome on occasion.) I'd very much like to have a local software solution that provides the web dashboard functionality but communicates directly with devices on my network rather than requiring the Action1 web service as an intermediary, but this is splitting hairs. The setup of the solution was very straightforward. It was easy to download and deploy the agent. Once deployed the console displayed a lot of information about the device and put me in a position where I could start to deploy patches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Improvements like device information or access to this would be helpful. Integration with other solutions could also add value. However these features are not crucial and the other functionality like deploy update, deploy app, reboot, uninstall app, run command and run powershell are more than enough to deploy this solution. As an IT and telecom consultant with many diverse clients, I'm tasked with keeping the systems up to date, and compliant with industry and corporate software and security standards. As an engineer who services customers across the tri-state area, I also need a quick and easy way to remote into the machines for management to assist with any problems that may arise.
Action1 allows for excellent remote control of the desktops and servers, has a one click reporting function with many built-in reports for compliance, and allows for remote software package installation and removal. You can also run one of the many built-in scripts to allow for remote functions such as rebooting into safe mode, turning on or off the Windows firewall, disabling USB storage, and much more with the added ability to create your own scripts for management. Using the IT inventory function, I keep track of the hardware that the customers are using, and receive alerts should non-approved software be installed.
With 100 free endpoints, this is the system I will be using going forward for all of my current and future customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing so far. Everything has worked as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the centralized dashboard to manage software and hardware inventory. The remote access capability with ease of use is great for remote support. Our users like it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
was hard to find the list of software inventory for a single user but with their help desk I was able to get it, from the company wide list, filter down to a single user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software runs without requiring many resources. The app manager is easy to use and add custom installers. The custom scripting is easy to use. Having the first 100 endpoints as free allowed me to test a large variety of computers simultaneously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is still fully functional, but the remote desktop connection lags a bit more than something like Quick Assist provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The security features, such as endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability assessments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far anything that I have disliked is going to be impimented in futuer updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was looking for a cost-effective RMM tool to patch a client's site and came across Action 1. After trialling it, I have to say I'm very impressed. Its easy to learn and powerful. And being free for less than 100 sites it suits my remote client with one PC. Having 2FA helps secure the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I'd like to see in the gui is less screen steps (in the form of next - next etc) to perform an action. Instead being able to run or perform an action from just one page would provide a more streamlined UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Action1 has become an excellent resource for managing WFH and RTO computers. Two best parts: 1.) Functionality and info on the computers 2.) First 100 endpoints are free.
Functionality, and breadth of systems and software covered by Action1, are both very good. The free endpoints trial is allowing me to become acquainted with all the available functions while actually using the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Minor complaint and mostly this is my problem, not Action1's. Setting up scripts for patches and updates to software requires some digging into both the vendor's website, then testing - it's not so straightforward for some major vendors like Microsoft and Autodesk. Action1 has been very helpful in expanding my ability to manage endpoints. It is a very easy setup and provides me with info on the endpoints and a means to connect remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much to dislike so far. I do not use the paid version so there are some limitations but what is provided for free has been enough so far Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best feature is how easy and quick it is to set up a remote point and maintain it in the future Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not discovered any negative points yet. I would prefer to also have apple computers supported as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
