How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

It's easy to get started and to install the agent on machines. Their free 200 device tier is a great way to allow smaller businesses a way into patch management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I haven't found any downsides to the product yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Patch management on the machines of various different clients can be time consuming and difficult. Having all the devices listed in one platform gives us the ability to manage many machines at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The agent is very easy to install and deploy. And since there are no restrictions such as connecting to the company network or VPN, you can patch all your in-house devices without any holes, including remote workers. And the fact that you can use up to 100 agents for free is the biggest benefit in the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

It is unfortunate that OS other than Windows is not supported, but support for MAC OS has been added this time, and Linux is scheduled to be added in 2025. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Patching remote workers’ computers was one of our biggest concerns. But once we started using Action1, the concern disappeared. Action1 can check the vulnerability status and patch status of remote workers’ computers and distribute patches immediately without connecting to the company network or VPN. This solved all our problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Remote access and patch management are our most used features. The utility does a great job at automation and schseduling of patching also. Very easy to use and implement on the network. You can use AD join, or install agents manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Can be difficult to go full screen for remote sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Seemless device management of workstations and laptops on the network. Patches can be delayed a set number of days or on certain agents. The tool is fast and accurate, and helps us deploy software remotely without inturruptions to end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

For me, it's honestly the price. I don't have a lot of PCs in my fleet (~25), but we're pushing towards SOC2 compliance, so I need to patch software pretty quickly. Action1 is updating my PC fleet at no cost. And it's doing a PHENOMENAL job at it! Action1 is incredibly user friendly, the UI is super easy to pickup! Action1 has an .msi install that I popped into InTune and the next thing I knew all my machines were ready, so deployment and integration were easy! It's something I literally use every single day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I honestly haven't found anything about Action1 that I dislike! Even as a free customer, I find that their subreddit and Discord communities are very active! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's patching all my third party software, allowing incredibly easy deployment of scripts (which help push down pesky Office365 updates), and allows me to push down Windows Security updates faster than InTune! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The GUI is really user friendly and I can do most tasks with a few clicks. Updates are sent through without a hitch and as an added bonus I can connect remotely to assist users on their PC' s Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

They should maybe add a bit more features in regards to the remote connection feature, such as darken the user's sceen and revoke their ability to input (so that they can't use their mouse or keyboard to interfere). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's making sure my endpoints are up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

No he encontrado nada más allá de que quizá sería bueno poder personalizar un poco más la interfaz de usuario. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

No encuentro problemas con Action1. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

I'm able to push out and control updates easily, without any fuss. Once the app is installed, everything works as you think it would. Being able to also push out updates for things that aren't just standard windows updates, such as Adobe, Zoom ect is also incredibly helpful. Seeing them be proactive about exploits/issues that haven't been pushed through the bigger channels yet is also great to see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

It needs more options for customizing reports, lists and updates. We've got older machines that are always going to show as needing updates, but can't update because they're out of date and are stuck in the list there. Being able to whitelist or ignore these would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It makes seeing every endpoint's status for patches/updates easy and not having to rely on a server/service like WSUS any more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

I've been in the industry for 25+ years, this solution has provided a great tool to help with keeping workstations up to date not only with applications but Windows updates! Proves consistent, much better option than WSUS, and the cloud based factor only enhances the offering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Only issue I've seen is the ability to remove old profiles from workstations that have the Action1 Service running. Easy work around, shutting down the service, rebooting and allows for removal of old profiles so not the end of the world, provided you remember to reset the service! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keeping workstations updated, I've used applications like NiteNite and a few others, Action1 provides a better interface and options for deployment. Very intuiative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The layout of the website makes it easy to navigate and organise systems and patching. The generous 100 systems for free is amazing. Implementing the installer on each system is the easiest I have come across even after trying several other patch management solutions. Takes 5 minutes to check and approve updates and to deploy them to all systems. The built in scripts are also very handy to use, something I haven't seen in other solutions as yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not much to say regarding anything I dislike other than the fact that remote managment, system resource usage, etc isn't as detailed but this is overshadowed by all the benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Allowing the easy deployment of patches along with errors decribing why it didn't update which helps locate a potential bigger problem with a system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is very simple to implement and to use: configure wich AD OU's your want to monitor in Action. Then put the endpoint in the correct OU and the agent is automatically deployed to the endpoint. The only thing you have to do then, is create the right endpoint groups and couple the correct automation to this group and that's all. From then on all your endpoints are automatically updated.

A second feature we love is the fact that you can - again with the right automation - deploy software to your endpoints. Not only the action1 approved stuff, but you can also create your own packages. And you can also remove a piece of software from all the endpoints you want it removed....with just a few clicks.

They also continuously work on the product. Their roadmap is openly available and customers (even no paying ones) can upvote features.

And last, but not least, their support is great. For the free (100 endpoints) edition, it's via a discord channel, were several members of action1 (Serge and Maria) follow the discussions and try to help. If you're a paying customer, you get direct support by mail. And they respond/help within a few hours (even if you"re a European customer as we). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The only minor thing I see when using Action1, is that you can mix scripts and updates in one automation, nor can you uses more than one script in an automation. So If you want to 1) Wake on Lan, then 2) create a snapshot and then 3) run the updates, that"s 3 automations with some "fiddling" in the timings.

But they say they are working on these issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automatically update 3th party apps and windows. F.e. Before action1 it took me almost two days to patch Foxit reader on all our servers. With action1 it happens automatically. Also install/remove software on endpoints is a serious plus. Before Action1 we completely imaged our new endpoints, now we only put windows and some company wide software in the image. The specific stuff per department we're going to deploy ith Action1. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
