Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

Product Description

Action1 reinvents patching with an infinitely scalable, highly secure, cloud-native platform configurable in 5 minutes — it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. Featuring unified OS and third-party patching with peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment with no VPN needed, it enables autonomous endpoint management that preempts ransomware and security risks, all while eliminating costly routine labor. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC and ISO 7001. How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

Automated updating of all your computers on your network. And it is FREE for less than 100 computers! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Although it is easy to get setup and started, there is so much that you can do and it takes a little bit to learn how to use all the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I can see the status of missing updates across my entire network and push-out updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The new UI is easy to navigate and gets me to my desired task quickly. Patching, remote desktop, and reporting are all available to me in a display that makes sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

As a smaller non-profit, there really is no downside for us, since the product is free (gasp) for under 100 endpoints. This gives us the value of a paid product without having to pay for it. I'm almost guilty about it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

When I came onboard to the company, I had no inventory of the endpoints, no patch management schedule, and no remote screen share. Action1 brings all those necessities under one program. They update features regularly, and I can't wait as the program gets better. The automatic patch scheduling alone saves me a ton of time and headaches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The dashboard is very comperhensive and useful for one sight view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

you can add more the force update option and in dashboard /reporting the node is not showing updated even we miss a single update, it should show the percent of updated nodes on release updated number on product or windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

its complete solution for patch management, even its update the BIOS veriosn of every vendor like HP, DELL , lenovo etc, thats is very helpful to mitigate the bios level vulenrabilty threats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

A1 is a great patch management system with enough features to stand on its own. It was incredibly easy to deploy to our existing setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not a huge fan of their remote desktop, it's adequate but not the focus of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 has a powerful scripting engine and plenty of useful tools built in. I find it to be much better than InTune for reocurring powershell execution. I also love the software inventory and vulnerability reporting which seems to be their primary focus for development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Hands down, one, of the best features is the simplicity of the onboarding process. I was able to complete this process on my own for a 5 location business with roughly 70 endpoints within an hour. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The only downside of Action1 act the moment is simply small features which are available with other RMM that haven't been implemented yet. However I have already seen Action1 hold true to their roadmap which has virtually all of the features I would ever need accounted for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am a one person IT department therefore Action1 is solving our need for automating windows updating, 3rd party patch management, and overall insight to our endpoints. This benefits me so much as it lets me have peace of mind that our endpoints are up to date while having time to dedicate to my other job functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

It's so easy to set up and integrate into your current system. The remote desktop features are helpful since you and the end user can see what's happening on the screen, and therefore it's easier to guide the user on whatever problem they are having with their software/system. We can also monitor their whole system! Talk about AIO solution huh? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not everything is perfect tho. The Remote desktop is somewhat buggy. Sometimes, the user cannot use their keyboard when the remote desktop is in session. Also, sometimes the update policies we set won't get applied even if we execute it manually. But maybe that has something to do with the PC instead of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Remote Support and Remote Monitoring & Management.

Providing remote support is easier with Action1, and monitoring our servers is even easier with Action1 since it gives an overview of the systems. When a new critical update is released, we will know instantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

there's realy not much I don't like aboutit. I signed sepecifically for patching and not other typical RMM functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Patching and reporting on patch status.

The recent addition of vulnerability reporting is a very welcome addition.

What do you like best about Action1?

Easy to implement, beautiful, but improvable interface, deployment of custom applications and custom scripts. I have been using it for more than 6 months now and today it has become the main RMM application for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Client management from command prompt is missing. you need a system manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Immediate remote support for all my endpoints (servers and workstations). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Very useful tools and is free up to 100 endpoints, making managing a small/medium size inventory of computers very easy. It has found updates that other RMMs have not found.

Action1 is extremely useful and makes patch management a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Could use features like managing startup applications, viewing endpoint uptime, computer Model, health monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helping keep endpoints up to date, provide remote support to locations in other states. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
