Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

No downside, other than if you automate your updates/patches you will likely turn off Microsoft updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

It is fast to connect and has great flexibility when deploying updates. Its simplicity in design and useability is perfect for our needs. Compared to others it is much easier to use and the support has been outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Only thing that could be better for us is the deployment being more transparent at the client end with no user interaction required Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action 1 has resolved issues with some UK banks blocking previous remote software. It gives us a quick easy way to connect with no interaction from the client. The speed of our remote support is vastly more efficient with the way action 1 connects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is a feature full RMM tool with everything any IT professional needs to manage their devices. Implementation is a breeze. You'll be up and going in Action1 within a few hours! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The Remote Connection tool doesn't allow for file transfer, so pushing executables/files/etc. to a machine will require you to set up a script in Action1 to deploy a fix to a computer or it would require you to stage fixes in a share that you can access from a client computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 allows us to manage all of our computers across multiple offices as well as with remote employees with ease. It provides a lot of great detail on the devices in the console, which helps us with keeping our inventory up to date. Along with their patch management features, it empowers our small IT team to fully manage our endpoints across two offices as well as with our remote employees around the country. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

One thing I love about them is how they give out 100 endpoints for free for life as they are confident enough about their product that they know people who will use it will stay with then after they go over 100 endpoints free limit. And there is no limitation on their free tier all the functionality is avaiable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Reporting

- Policies

- Powershell

- The community

- The developers

- The list goes on... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not a huge issue, but it could use more native apps in the app store. The ability to add custom apps almost negates this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a one man IT department with about 280 computers under my wing I struggled heavily with a certain Microsoft product. I spent WAY to much time troubleshooting issues with it then I cared too (and the spiceworks community was there to help me through some of those struggles), but... Being in the Auto Industry and the new FTC safeguard rules looming - I needed something that was bullet proof and only required a few minutes a day. I demoed a few different products and they each had their strengths and weaknesses. I learned of Action1 through the Spiceworks community and it didn't take me long to figure out that this was the product that was going to work for our environment. I needed something to reliably check off the "update" box for the FTC guidelines and with Action1 I got the updates checked off and added a great toolset to the toolbox as well.
