Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 identifies software vulnerabilities even in software it doesn't provide updates for. The library of updated software is quite large and covers everthing most people use. Being able to see the status of computers, remotely login, generate reports and run custom scripts covers our needs. The setup is very simple. They are contantly working on improving and updating the software. The one time I used support they got back to me very quickly. Action1 has become part of my daily management of our computers and servers. I like the fact they are security focused and have the certifications to back that up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

It doesn't yet integrate with our anti-virus, but that is coming in a future release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 solves patch management for us, remote support, reporting and batch scripts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The ability to see all software and software versions downloaded to user PCs has been a great help to me. Using the remote access tool has allowed me to access user computers at our second location that is out of state where there is no IT staff onsite. The number of service calls to contracted IT services has decreased considerably and moving from the free version of Action1 to the paid version has more than paid for itself since I can access all network computers. I like that the software is quietly running in the background and not causing any disruption to end users. I appreciate that I can schedule scans and times to implement updates (or deploy right away if needed). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I have not experienced any issues with Action1 . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a second office location that is out of state and until now that location has used a contracted IT service provider (they do not have any onsite IT staff). The Action1 software has allowed me to remotely access these computers to update software, install new software, or complete any task that requires admin rights without having the additional expense of using a contractor.. What do you like best about Action1?

I've tested many patching tools / RMM systems, but none of them are so capable of doing this like Action1. The insight and almost instant feedback is superb, the ease to push out new software is great as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Remote command/powershell, remote registry (Windows), remote file browser are missing and would be very nice so we could solve all update issues remotely. The Automation (task scheduler) cannot run on conditions like 'Run when software is found' or 'when high CPU usage is detected', or 'service is not running'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Enforcing Windows and third party patches, monitoring security vulnerabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Nothing really, the platform was bonkers easy to deploy and put into use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was having a hard time determining the best path forward for our organization (around 50 endpoints for 30 users)... especialy with so much 1 or 2 level MSP nonsense out there. Action1 let us get up and running fast and it does everything we need it to do and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
