Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

Simple, straight-forward interface. Very easy to get started and configured. Allows as much automation as you like. I have some automations set to run every 4 hours and others that I want more control over so I run them manually. Great repository of 3rd party software. I have only scratched the surface of the capabilities, especially with the script library and Powershell module. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Support is limited to Discord at the free tier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have an MSP that manages most of our workstations for patching, but there are some that the internal IT department wanted more control over patches and reboots. We removed those machines from the MSP solution and loaded them into Action1. If the MSP ever goes away, we would probably move all of our patch managment to Action1. I really like Action1's simple clear pricing structure. I am an IT manager at a small company and we don't have the budget for something too expensive. I will stay with action1 even once we have more than 100 machines because the interface is so user friendly

The integration into our company was quick and painless. Sent an email to the employees with a link and let them install it themselves Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is a user friendly tool that allows our school to have an instant overview of the security status on our network. It is really easy to deploy and use. Security reports include all patching and monitoring actions to be performed on the computers. Applying patches is a breeze for most recent CVEs, thanks to the extensive automated functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Unfortunately, for some of the older CVEs there are no automated solutions/patches within Action1. Sometimes it is still necessary to go and solve issues on specific machines, especially when affected software that is no longer needed cannot be uninstalled automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Action1 has considerably reduced the time needed to solve security issues within the school network. Having a centralized console simplifies management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
