What do you like best about AccessOwl?

Easiest way to track SaaS apps we use -- even with Okta. There's just so many apps and not all of them work with SSO. The shadow IT feature is helpful to auto-populate this. The offboarding approach sure beats my old eternally-out-of-date Notion list. The team has been super responsive, and setting it all up was easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

Shadow IT feature can be a bit noisy sometimes -- people sign up for a lot of tools! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keeping track of who's in what tool, onboarding and offboarding them consistently, tracking all that for compliance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setting up the tool and integrations are very straight forward.

The nature of approving requests in Slack and automated provisioning is very usefull and saves time to approvers.

The "customers" like the easy unified requestables and dashboard inside Slack.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

Not dislike but room for improvements:

- GUI and grouping the administrative messages in Slack

- Shadow IT discovery

- Build integrations with SaaS and MDM vendors to stramline access Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about AccessOwl?

We used to use a spreadsheet to keep track of which apps each staff person needs access to, per team. With AccesssOwl we built template groups in which we assign apps to an employee, along with the roles and permissions inside that account. It's so much easier now to choose "New Staff Default" and at onboarding time their email account gets created, they get assigned to the whole office email group, they get their password manager account invite, Slack invite, Time tracker invite and so on. Yes, Access Owl does provisioning as well as de-provisioning when offboarding!

Secondly Access Owl has provided us a view we never had: Shadow IT! We can now see the hundreds of apps our staff have had invites into (we do not see active usage.. a feature i'm hoping will come in the future!) which has led us to managing access for many more apps than we "though we needed to manage".

All of this without paying the Single Sign On tax, AKA, the cost of upgrading accounts to be able to use SSO.

Plus it uses Slack as it's UI and client interface. It's so easy to work with their team in our own dedicated Slack channel. Love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

There were two things that shocked us when we started using AccessOwl: discovering just how many apps we had no idea our staff were using. (Shadow IT) That then led us to an even bigger shock: the cost to upgrade all those accounts to SSO enterprise level account if we wanted to use a service like Okta to manage them all. (SSOTax).

After using it for several months the only thing i'm still struggling with is to setup all the templates across all the teams to assign/remove permissions. Along with making sure all the permissions and roles for each application are also setup correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were trying to manage user on and offboarding in a spreadsheet. We are over a hundred staff and a dozen Teams, each with their own sets of Apps, with each having different Roles and Permissions. AccessOwl has made it possible to manage that and to see what the current state is for our assigned (and synced) apps. Which we could not do previously! On and Off boarding now happen faster, without an Admin to manually create and assign all accounts, which leads to faster onboarding with less mistakes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AccessOwl?

I was so thrilled to discover AccessOwl and it has proven to be invaluable tool to us as we have grown our employee base, hardened our access controls & vendor management procedures, and gone through third party audits. We regularly use AccessOwl to manage access and auditing of our 100+ applications and to do so without having to setup clunky, cumbersome SAML integrations.

Things that have worked great:

- The combination of the Slack-native experience for stakeholder requests and the web UI for admins has worked tremendously well

- The Google-centric view of users and access management via oAuth aligns with our our bets for identity management and employee directories

- Onboarding a new employee is dead simple and saves time in getting the right sets of applications provisioned

- App notifies us continually when a new SaaS tool is used by our employees

- The AccessOwl team is innovating rapidly and shares both regular roadmap updates as well as soliciting feedback on product direction

- The UX continues to get better

- The # of fully automated provisioning applications grows all the time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

- We have a long tail of SaaS applications which require some human intervention to provision.

- Requiring an user seat per SaaS app to automate provisioning does come at a cost Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

- Manage SaaS sprawl

- Streamline employee onboarding

- Improve access control and governance

- Facilitate regular access management reviews

- Minimize amount of manual effort required during audits Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

A few months ago, we were looking for a product that would provide us with access management processes, access reviews, and responsible access management. We chose AccessOwl and did not make a mistake. From the very beginning, Philip and his team approached solving our issues professionally, striving to understand our needs and help us address them. After implementing AccessOwl in our organization, the AccessOwl team accepted our feedback and released an update that addressed our needs completely. The implementation of AccessOwl was quick and easy.At this stage, AccessOwl greatly assists us in access management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AccessOwl?

Having a single source of truth for employee access to all of our vendors is amazing. And not just access, but level of access within the vendor as well. Access Owl is highly customizable, and in a very easy and intuitive way. A lot of thought has been put into the UI and it shows. The integration with Slack is excellent, enabling both requestors and app admins to interact with Access Owl within a very familiar environment. Thanks to its ease of use, it was very quickly adopted as the starting point for all access requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

Very little. The experience with Access Owl, both the tool itself and how they solve access management, has been very positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem we had was simple: How do we manage 100's of vendors, each with their own internal users, and unique levels of access? Next, how do we enable 100's of users to request access in an easy and scalable way? Finally, how do we delegate Access Approvals, Provisioning, and Deprovisioning, to the owners of those vendors? Access Owl solved all of these problems. On top of all that, it integrates with many of our vendors and Identity provider to enable automatic provisioning/deprovisioning so that all that is needed by an app owner is to click "I approve" and Access Owl handles the rest. What do you like best about AccessOwl?

AccessOwl's combination of ease of use, Slack integration, and reliable support team makes it a desirable option for many users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AccessOwl?

Overall, I have had an excellent experience with AccessOwl, and I highly recommend it to any organization looking for a reliable and user-friendly solution for their identity and access management needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AccessOwl solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Access Control: In a hyper growth startup, it's common for access to be granted and lost frequently, which can create security risks. AccessOwl's solution can help your organization manage access requests and automate access approvals, which can reduce the likelihood of unauthorized access and help maintain a secure environment.

2. Offboarding: When employees leave the organization, their access to sensitive information and resources should be revoked to prevent data breaches and insider threats. AccessOwl's solution can automate the offboarding process, ensuring that access is revoked automatically when an employee leaves the organization, which can help mitigate security risks and improve compliance.

3. Governance: Sensitive access to information and resources should be governed carefully to protect against security risks and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. AccessOwl's solution offers features such as role-based access control, compliance reporting, and user permission reviews, which can help your organization govern sensitive access more effectively and efficiently.
