Turning Point ARS is a great way to keep students alert and participating during lectures. The clicker was inexpensive for students, and I noticed participation and attendance improved. I love how customizable questions are, and I especially like the fact that it makes big university lecture halls feel more tight-knit. Students could learn from each other, and it helped me understand what areas were misunderstood across the class (i.e. when a large number of students missed the same questions.). I really am not a fan of TurningPoint - while I liked how easy it is to access the platform, I found that it was fairly ineffective as a interactive platform, since there are far too few question types and not much room for creativity. I also found that it was very difficult to use TurningPoint for attendance, since there's no way to link attendance outcomes in TurningPoint to the attendance grade system we use.
