FRAPS is an excellent and simple application that allows you to make video and audio recordings on your computer among other things. It also allows you to take screenshots and measure the FPS of the applications rendered on our computer. The interface of the program is very simple and minimalist since we are hardly presented with a table with some options such as the assignment of a shortcut and the path where to save the videos or screenshots. Both the quality of the videos and the screenshot can be modified to suit the user so that they occupy less space on our hard drive. In general FRAPS is a very popular application used mostly among gamers to show how many FPS (frames per seconds) are displayed on the screen and thus measure the performance of their computers.

In my experience as a user of FRAPS what I have found to be the most useful of the application is the performance test that allows me to check the power of my computer through benchmarks that measure the quality of my GPU and CPU thanks to the FPS ( frame per second). In terms of its interface, FRAPS does not stand out because of an updated or aesthetically very nice interface, but rather has a simple and intuitive interface in which it is not overloaded with useless options but simply shows those options necessary for the user. In the video recording has a feature that allows you to cut large videos in different files to avoid reaching the limit of the FAT32 file system so in this case the limit is just under 4GB. It is also possible to take screenshots using the appropriate shortcut for this action.

The quality of the videos is very high, this is for me the most significant aspect of FRAPS that allows you to record your desktop at a very good quality so that no details are lost when viewing the video on our player (provided it is properly configured) . The videos generated by FRAPS do not have any type of compression applied so their size is somewhat high and it is necessary to edit them using video editing applications to maintain the quality while also decreasing its size. FRAPS also includes a tool to perform benchmarks and screenshots, these tools can be invoked through shortcuts that we can configure in the same application. The application of benchmarks can only be launched on a full-screen application or a video game.
