Ellucian looks like it hasn't been updated in quite some time. The software requires what feels like a password change each month, which is also frustrating though I understand the intention. I use Colleague primarily as an IT admin, so if you're looking at what it can DO, definitely look at another review. What I mainly do is grant access, remove it, edit access, change information on accounts. What I like about Colleague is that it is VERY simple to use, but if you don't know the ins and outs of it, you're going to feel like you're facing a beast. It gets the job done. I really dislike that it does take up a lot of PERSONNEL resources. We have a team who create mnemonics, screens, etc., our networking guy makes sure its connector is up so people can log in, and then there's me, who just grants access and stuff. It is A LOT of moving pieces and if someone is out (especially our networking guy) and something goes wrong, it can take almost half a day to get it running up again through Ellucian's support. What I love about Colleague is it's user-friendliness. It's graphics are simple, yet appealing, making it easy for any user to appreciate it. The graphics, colors, and fonts are easy to help distinguish different categories of organization, without being overpowering. Additionally, it is incredibly easy to use. It took me just a couple days of training to understand how to best navigate it. I truly believe this software would be a great fit at any office. The downside of Colleague is that at times it can glitch and have errors, making it difficult to understand. At times, the software has glitched while I'm using it, and I have had to ask coworkers for help. It will pop up with boxes at times that are unnecessary, which can be distracting when you are trying to help a client. If there were a way for this to be removed, that would be most beneficial to the ease of use, but it does not hinder the software so much that I do not enjoy using it. O sistema parece um pouco desatualizado e fica mais lento a cada atualização. Poderia ter mais algumas telas de clique rápido para acessar o NSLDS em vez de ter que clicar em várias telas para encontrar informações sobre empréstimos. Não gosto que você não possa mais ver o SSN de um estudante na tela AIDE. Mas, em vez disso, você tem que ir para SASM ou para BIO. I like that its pretty quick to use, there is not much lag time. I like that Colleague allows me to access all the students information they need, view their restrictions, see their addresses, see who they are related to, see their class schedule and personal information if I need to do more than just email them directly. I dislike the fact that there is no real shortcut to see the different screens. You can see them only if you've inputted the screen (ie: SPRO, XTH2A) previously in the form search history section. I do like that it is pretty simple to use and that it doesn't have an update every so many days.
