I really like that we could choose what integrations we need to connect to cover all our data sources. After we completed the list, we didn’t have to see or deal with data sources that we were not involved in. Everything feels customized for our company, even the wording in the Privacy Center. When first connecting with Mine PrivacyOps it was a bit overwhelming because it has a lot of features (which are great, you just first need to get to know them). But after following the setup steps on the main page, we got the hang of it. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.
Mine PrivacyOps has been a great success for us! We work remotely, and before Mine it was very hard to collaborate when handling data subject requests. Some data sources (SaaS) can only be accessed and managed by specific personnel, which meant that we had to wait for them to fulfill their part in the DSR management process. Today, everything is integrated into Mine’s platform, which means that collaborating is so much faster and easier than before (as it doesn’t require any manual involvement from the team). I think Mine has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to expanding to entirely new sub-categories in the privacy sector. For example, until very recently they didn’t offer a consent management tool. We started using it as soon as they offered it and we’re glad with it, but it just took them time to implement it. I hope they continue to expand and conquer new fields to become the ultimate data privacy platform. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.
Previously, we used a CMS that had user accounts. We recently moved to a much more streamlined WordPress site; the old site is where the internal database is. Mine helped us with getting insights of the previous website, including number of records and PII, and also delete it from there (and from other data sources we weren’t using any more). Since we did that, we mainly use Mine for daily DSR fulfillment. It’s a great platform for that. We also started to implement their consent management solution pretty recently and it’s also great. We weren’t handling our own compliance before the migration, so we’re pretty new to this. There’s nothing we dislike about Mine, and we really appreciate them for taking the time to explain everything to us. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.
We’re currently going through an internal privacy assessment. Our DPO chose to use Mine to scan our company’s data sources and build a data map.
In the past, we conducted data mapping through questionnaires and surveys. It was a bad idea since most employees had a short-term memory, and also it was difficult to cover all data sources manually.
With Mine’s data mapping, everything is done automatically (with AI). It helped us with finding shadow IT, systems redundancy and personal data that doesn’t belong to certain sources.
For example, at one point we migrated from Mailchimp to Sendgrid. We had no idea that we still had many records and PII hosted in Mailchimp. Mine showed us exactly where our users’ data is stored, and helped us delete it from SaaS tools that could be risky, and we did it automatically thanks to no code API integrations. As for the DSAR/DSR management, we want the ability to change the timeframe of the “Privacy Reports”. One of the elements is fixated on “last 12 weeks”. Please give us more flexibility when it comes to privacy reports. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.

No doubt, the live data mapping (scanning process + results).
Connecting our employees was insanely easy, and each one we added revealed more and more of our company’s data sources map. That was neat.
But what I really like the most is the insights: Mine’s data mapping is great because of the insights it gives you. For example, for our company:
1.Data redundancy (same user’s data is spread across 5 sources, but we only need it to be in 2)
2.Lack of data accuracy (in each source, there was a different piece of information about the same user)
3.Systems redundancy (we had some systems in the footprint that we don’t even use)
No need to say, these exposed our company to some really bad privacy risks. If one of the SaaS tools we use got breached, and we had user data stored there (when there shouldn’t be), we could’ve been in real trouble. After using Mine PrivacyOps, we managed to mitigate this risk.
You don’t even know what risks your company faces before you scan your company’s data sources with Mine. I recommend doing it as soon as possible. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.
One of the insights the data mapping gives is “thread intelligence”. What it supposed to do is provide us with the sensitivity of risk, based on how many records + how much the type of data is sensitive (like DNA). However, we found it to be too ‘forgiving’. Some data sources are considered to be high risk by our company (after seeing how many records and PII we have there), but Mine said they were less of a risk. After sending an inquiry about this matter to Mine’s support team (which is really fast and helpful), they said that since these data sources were never breached, their score wasn’t high enough to be considered as high risk.

We used Mine for our usual privacy operations (handling DSR etc), but I have to say that the real “killer” is their Data Mapping. Oh, the data mapping.
In a nutshell, Mine finds data sources that hold your users’ data, and gives you control over your SaaS “chaos”. It gives you insights like:
1. Data redundancy (when the same user’s data is spread across multiple sources, but you only need it in some of them)
2. Lack of data accuracy (when there’s a different piece of information in each source regarding the same user)
3. Systems redundancy (when you have systems you don’t even use/need anymore).
Add that to the fact that we found some “Shadow IT” (employees that left without deactivating their SaaS).
Mine also provides you with the sensitivity of risk for each data source, based on the amount of records and data type.
And best of all? It’s live, i.e everything changes in real time, which allows us to keep up-to-date with compliance. Análise coletada por e hospedada no G2.com.
When I first used the data mapping feature, I connected my own Gmail account and it started the scan. When it finished, I thought that I had the map of the entire company- which was false. It’s probably because I didn’t see that only “1 coworker is connected” (it’s stated at the top), but I’d love Mine to give more alerts and let you know that you need to connect more teammates to receive a full map.
