I am using a free membership on Visualping to detect changes to websites. I do not need instantaneous notifications so the free membership works great. I'd gladly subscribe if and when I do need more instant notifications though! The site is customizable to certain sections of a webpage and a certain threshold of changes detected. Very highly recommended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be nice to see a few lower priced tiers on visialping. It's either free, $10, $25, $50, $100/month. I'd like to see what a $5 plan would offer or a $7.50/mo plan especially for personal accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visualping saw a nerve-cracking problem in the real world, quantified it, and presented a suitable solution for marketers. You should check it out; it doesn't matter if you're a product marketer, content marketer, or working in any role across the marketing function in any industry. Here are my two cents on it.
I'm working in the higher EDU space for a U.S.-based business. Yes, it's crowded and comes with its own set of problems. Everyone's doing their best, and everyone has the best resources at hand. So, how do I make sure I'm one step ahead?
By getting continuous intel into my competitors in real-time. I want to stay informed about every fresh article, new product or service offering, or even minor alterations to my competitor's messaging as soon as they are available.
This happened recently, I received an email from Visualping telling me about a new category called, "Student Life" that popped up in my competitor's navbar.
I instantly checked the SEO implications for it and understood that it was worth chasing this new keyword. I researched similar keywords and found a couple of topics with loads of potential to bring traffic.
I shared this update with the business team managing the EDU vertical. They too were interested in chasing this tail. Voila, we had a new blog vertical with a strong magnetic pull for college students eager to read tips to make their lives better.
Moreover, I have set up monitoring for our own website. There are many internal teams working on the EDU business. So, sometimes, it's difficult to stay updated on everyone's agenda. It's chaotic working with seven different teams. Visualping was really helpful in keeping track of changes on the website for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wouldn't exactly say downside, but yes, the product needs some improvements.
Recently, I received an email from Visualping telling me about the changes that were mere UI transitions of the "Suggested Blogs" section on the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am glad a coworker told us to implement this into our arsenal. I have used other alternatives of Visualping but those do not come close to how well and easy it is to use and features that the others didn't even offer. I am able to get daily updates on some of my personal websites and even sites outside of our organization. Because I integrated this into our company I was able to catch a huge error by one of our employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
More than a few times I get notified that there is a change when there is not a change. Other than that it doesn't fail often and that is a bonus! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visualping has made it extremely easy for me to follow specific information and automatically be notified of changes. More importantly Visualping is set up to automatically suggest what part of websites I may want to follow and is smart enough to know what is most likely a change I am not interested in and ignore those.
They also recently updated the notifications to provide a summary at the top of them to inform me what has changed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing in particular, it has all the features i needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The customer service / support team at Visualping is one of the best I've come across - they are extremely quick to respond to inquiries and requests, very accomodating in providing custom bulk imports and adjustments when the default options might not allow for some specific adjusting, and provide very clear explanations (and often custom-made vidoes!) to clear up how to use their UI and options in the most beneficial way.
The product itself works very well in providing passive landscaping and monitoring of websites, and the number of features and options to monitor specific parts of a page, navigating through pop-up menu's and overlays, and options for frequency and notifications are great. I have very little negative to say about Visualping - it has been an absolute blessing to our workflow and reduced the amount of overhead and time spent doing this landscaping work manually. It has MORE than paid for itself! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is hard for me to identify things I haven't enjoyed about using Visualping. There is a bit of a learning curve in using the service when it comes to getting around notification overlays, pop-ups, etc. - but their customer service team is quick to respond and provide insights and solutions to these sorts of problems. When we first started using Visualping, the UI was a bit slow/laggy in some of the features, but they have since addressed these issues and I haven't run into any issues since then. I've been using Visualping for a long, long time, even back when they were called ChangeDetection and had a website that looked like it was from the early 2000s. Visualping has a ton of options for creating alerts. As the name suggests it can check for visual changes, which is what makes it unique and is a method that can work when all else fails. There's also the ability to monitor text or HTML elements for changes, and you can further tweak by adding clicks, scrolls, cookies, refreshes, etc. I run several monitors on Visualping to help me with my own personal workflows. The visual element is a blessing and a curse. It's nice to be able to select the area of the window or the text you want to select, but sometimes it would be easier to target the raw HTML or text. Visualping doesn't offer much for monitoring tables of information with multiple pages, which can get a little annoying. I've also had to retire some Visualping monitors in favor of things like Retool, because what I want is for RPA to action on a change and not just an email when it happens. I like using this software to keep me informed without me having to remember to check a website. An example is when a website posts new dates or availability for an event/activity - I want to be informed ASAP in case I need to sign up before things get booked up. So, it's especially handy for staying the most-up-to-date without having to remember to check a page manually when you don't know when the business will update the information on their page! There is a limit to number of notifications, but the free version is pretty generous and sufficient to my needs! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That it does the job you want a website scraper to do in an intuitive and simple way that you can easily add into your normal workflow. I can check it weekly and know that if a website update occurs, I will hear about it. In a world where you often spend more time looking for the right tool than using it, Visual Ping is the one and only scraper tool I will ever use! Plus it is super easy to use! Sometimes the updates it catches are just an image not loading before Vping flags it. So I get some false alarms. But I would rather it err on over-reporting than the alternative so its not a big deal. (Please feel free to editmy grammar and syntax as you see fit!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use Visualping to notify me when there is a change to several different websites such as updates on some of our software. This way I don't have to manually monitor the websites. It sends me an email and also gives me a link to the website. It is extremely useful and I love it! Setting up the sites that I wanted to monitor was very easy and intuitive. It's also nice because you can setup just part of a webpage that you want to see changes on, it's very customizable. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that I dislike is that some of my sites that I have setup will go inactive if I don't login for awhile. So I just make sure that I login periodically even though I don't have any changes to make. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
