What do you like best about VEGAS Pro?

For years Vegas has been a very easy to use and helpful editor. I started using it for audio way back in the early 2000's and I loved how it allowed me to edit and do things with my music files that I could not do with other software. The normalizing feature for audio, the cropping precision and the way it was designed made it a delightful experience.

With Vegas pro, you can see all that, plus the video editing tools that have been just improving with time. The UI has been redesigned and adapted for more modern needs and looks similar to other tools like Adobe or Final Cut, but keeping the basic tools from Vegas. It still feels familiar and gets the job done Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VEGAS Pro?

I remember that in previous versions, the one thing I disliked about Vegas on the video editing level, was the fact that graphics and transitions were usually lower in quality compared to Final Cut or Adobe software. There has been improvement yes, but they are still a little behind Adobe and Final Cut. Since the software runs only with Windows, it also requires good graphic cards to see better results in video editing previews and when exporting files and playing them on a TV I did see a better framerate and color grading from the Adobe or Final Cut files. What problems is VEGAS Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?

Now that the software has a subscription option, pricing is more accessible and it allows more people to use it and have a good editor on their computers. I don't use VEGAS as much as I used to back in the day, but it's my number one editor on PC when it comes to audio editing because I just love it.

I believe that on a general level, VEGAS Pro is providing an alternative for people that don't use or can't afford the Adobe suites or more complex software for editing and the software has a more familiar UI now, so anyone changing from Final Cut or Adobe to Vegas will have a similar experience when exploring the interface and it makes the adaptation process a lot shorter.
