I love that the videos in iMovie are available in different downloadable and high-resolution formats which is very useful when I need to share content on social media. Its selection of pre-installed templates has a professional-level design that makes it easy to create captivating videos without any editing experience; overall the editing experience is pleasant with a clean and stable interface. iMovie offers a lot and it's enough for me but those who are advanced users notice the lack of more detailed customization options or more control over animations to explore more creative ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is straightforward and has the essential tools to create a well-done video. I like the effects and that I can easily use either on my computer, iPad or iPhone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I get kicked out of the app whenever I upload heavy videos, and sometimes I cannot complete my tasks as I wish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a robust editing software. I still have yet to explore all of its features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's complicated dash and it is not easy to use. It's written for a computer programmer instead of a average user.
For instance, they have what is called "Events"? What the heck is that? You can tell a programmer designed it instead of hiring a UX team to make it easy for regular people to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best interface ever. It is supremely beautiful and aesthetic and really is fun to work in. Perfect for creating a cute small slideshow of pictures with simple animations and transitions. You will most likely not need to look up anything as it is fairly basic. You can make high quality outputs any time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is fairly basic so you will be using all the features that are there; don't expect anything fancy from it. Not too many use cases outside of personal cute stuff, however professional stuff is possible as many elegant options to select from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been an avid user of iMovie for as long as I remember, as an animation student a lot of my projects have been made on this platform. There are great video editing tools that iMovie offers, and it's all free for Apple users. Some of my favorite tools that other software don't offer are the variety of transitions and themes that they have to create visual effects that give off a clean, professional look to the viewer. While it works out well for me since I am a Mac user, iMovie is not recommended for anyone who works on a windows operated platform. In that sense, it hs limited integration with other operating software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is easy to use without too many bells and whistles to deal with. It is perfect for the editing I do, which is YouTube vlogging/podcasting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If someone wants to do complicated video editing with better options for titles, subtitles etc... then iMovie won't cut it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I movie is one of the simplest products to use. I learned it quite easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about iMovie is that it isn't keeping up with the other products in the market. I sometimes have to do one part of the video in iMovie and then upload it onto VEED.io to complete adding more interesting features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

iMovie offers a great, overall compelling experience when editing video, it has all the basics and some of the intermediate-level features that most video enthusiasts and content creators can ask for in a pretty nice package, with seamless integration with Apple's hardware and macOS. It definitely lacks some more professionally focused features, here's where Final Cut Pro enters the picture, as Apple's complete video editing suite. iMovie can show its age to some extent, but in general, it is a solid tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use is the most powerful speciality of iMovie. And the fact that it is the default app for MAC makes it smooth for mac users. The attributes are easy to implement, although they are not fulfilling the most current needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of updates with up to date skins and different Special Effects are quite poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy for beginners to engage with and achieve basic success. With practice and time even basic technology users are able to create quality looking videos to utilize in a variety of areas. Additionally, if you have an iPad or iPhone it is easy to work and combine content from other devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest thing is that the updates to the software have felt like they restricted the possibility. As a long-time user of iMovie the UI changes have been difficult to adjust to at times. Personally, I preferred the older interfaces as I felt they were more capable of customization. I understand that the goal was to make the software more "user friendly" but it also served as a sort of dumbing down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
