RO Innovation provides foundational reference management program capabilities and integrations to keep reference data in once place for ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

While the UI has improved, it has always been a hard tool to navigate as an admin to find what you're looking for - especially with reporting.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company needs one database and one source of truth for growing our list of customer references. It has taken years for our team to adopt the tool and we still have challenges with teams using their own "secret" references but we have no way to track, monitor and tie revenue back to references when doing things the manual way. We have been able to stand up a basic reference program with the help of RO Innovation.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables us to have a central repository for our advocacy program where our customer advocates and their associated data are easily found and made searchable. It is a library for all our customer content and the tool automates the request and nomination workflowa, aloowing my team to concentrate on more strategic work.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

I have been with Upland RO through the last five companies in my career. In cusotmer advocacy marketing, we always needed a robust platform to manage the carious programs.  From references, asset sharing customer evidence, nominations and tracking activities - this is hands down the BEST! And I should know, I have implemented it five times, and always looks for a change to bring in the technology. THe company, and their teams are top- class.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

I don't dislike anything about Uploand RO. They have come along way since 2010, and have listened to their customers feedback in order to grow the platform.  Keep listening, learning, and implementing new features.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cutomer evidence (use case, challenges, results) was scattered all over the organization. From G Drives, on computers, hidden in portals - it was not accessable.  Along somes RO to set up a very easy to use platform for customer intel, references, managing public and private assets, nominations, and more.  RO is your self-serving, 24/7 platform to gain valuable customer evidence to support strategic priorities.

Their knowledge of managing and updating a reference platform, and their ability to tailor our reference platform to meet the organization's needs.

The occasional small software glitches that show up in the platform, however, RO Customer Support has been very responsive to quickly resolve most issues.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking the existing platform from 1 to 9 go-to-markets, and update the information in the platform to better serve Sales and Marketing.

It allows us to be the one central place to track all customer engagement as well as any customer collateral.    Not only do we track acts of advocacy but other participations as well such as user group and executive meeting attendees.  One clear picture in one place.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

When a change needs to be made to the database that is not a simple fix, it can smetimes fall into a bit of a black hole and takes a long time to be resolved.

It is very easy for us to track our recruitment and fulfillment efforts as well as any customer engagement with the company

The team is excellent to work with. They are the experts and the folks working with RO who have worked with the tool for many years.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

They do not do a lot of marketing which is a shame as it would be good to hear from their customers about their experience with the product.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to create a single source of truth for a repository of customer references. This builds trust within the sales org, which also helps make the adoption of the tool. It also provides analytics which helps to see where there are successes and where you need to improve.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

Using RO Innovation allows you to track and manage a database of references in one location with a variety of features that help reference managers through all aspects of the reference lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

The product can be hard to use in the beginning - especially if you inherit a reference program from previous users. The UX isn't as intuitive as I would like, which has made our adoption of RO Innovation more challenging for those nominating and seeking references. However I have seen consistent product improvements over the last year directly related to the user experience which has helped tremendously.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RO Innovation allows our company to streamline the entire reference lifecycle, from having all active references in one location that can be managed and tracked more seamlessly. We have seen an increase in new references because of this tool.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

It has a library of already approved content, which allows us to be able to use it for campaigns without the problem of unsuitable content. The rewards, offer and incentive management, I like because we can track in real time the engagement of loyal customers and advocates and thus be able to reward them for their reviews. The add-to-sale feature is also very useful, because it is allowing us to add the comments and reviews just when we need to add them to the sale, in order to successfully close the sale. It allows to incorporate to the sale, the reviews and positive comments, so that the potential customer can see it and have more confidence in their purchase. Allows real-time tracking of the participation of advocates, to effectively manage their rewards. The approved content library makes it easy to make content for campaigns with the right content for the business.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

I would like to see a payment system and integrations with payment software such as PayPal in its next update, to centralize everything related to the payment of rewards from the same software. The integration with the web page was an arduous task and we required external help to achieve it, since we could not contact the technical service. And the technical service could not be contacted neither in the case of the integration of the web page, nor in any other minor problem we had with the program.

**Recommendations to others considering Upland RO Innovation:**

Our entire marketing and sales department is more than satisfied with this software and all the tools we have been able to use to increase our sales thanks to referral marketing. We have never used this type of strategy before and so far it has worked excellently for us and we highly recommend it. Since we have been using this software, we have closed many more deals and sold more products, since the potential customer has the opportunity to read positive comments about the company and making their decision favorable. Undoubtedly this is a program that has allowed us to increase the profits of the entire sales team.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using this software to keep in order all our reviews and positive comments, from our most loyal customers and advocates, to use them at the right time on the way to purchase with a new customer. All of its tools are very useful, especially the reward management, which performs functions that allow us to always incentivize our advocates.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

The micro-sites feature is fantastic in that it helps deliver (and track, thank goodness) advocacy resources sent to customers and gives a much more white-glove and catered approach than a simple email with links and attachments. 

Perhaps the greatest benefit of Upland RO is simply the fact that it can store, manage, and automate the immense amount of files often associated with an advocacy program. Just having a fluid, up-to-date database of all reference resources was a massive time saver and solved many headaches.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

I think the sales reference request could use some work. Sure, it'd show how often advocates were used to dissuade sales from over burdening our advocates, but I would have preferred a bit more of a "gate keeper" experience. Yes, number of reference activities is a good number to go by, but we had several advocates willing and WANTING to be on more calls. We also had those who really only wanted to be contacted maybe once a quarter. It didn't seem as though Upland RO's limitations on this were enough. There were also instances where a reference, for whatever reason, shouldn't have been called upon, but the rep simply saw they hadn't been used and reached out. Again, I'd just like a little more control over that process.

**Recommendations to others considering Upland RO Innovation:**

Clean up your Salesforce data as much as possible and provide training to sales teams/leadership so they understand the ROEs on references.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of what has been solved is discussed in my "what do you like best" response. Tracking a maintaining a fluid database of our references was the most important problem. Sure, sending documents over via micro-sites was a great bonus, but that could have been done via email as well. Maintaining a reference database on excel was a nightmare. 

It saved ample amounts of time simply not having to 1) search within an excel sheet and 2) deal with the clunkiness of updating a reference's file (row) within said spreadsheet

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

The solution can do it all, but back-end and external-facing. It's a great way to manage a database of references and all relevant information, including contact info, what they're willing to do and historical "usage." It's asset management is also fantastic, especially with it's ability to tag the content so it can be found later very quickly and easily. Your marketing and sales team will likely appreciate the external-facing capabilities, like the dedicated "landing pages" (Spotlight, I think it's called). The integration with SFDC is also very, very helpful.

No dislikes, other than the speed of the platform could use a little improvement.

Reference and asset management.

Not very much. I'm not sure if the tool was set up properly, but it is very cumbersome. 

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

This tool was implemented at my company some time ago - it is very difficult to make changes, it is not user friendly and we've lost confidence in it. I just wish we had a different tool

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to use this tool for our client reference database.

Scaling our reference program and empowering our sales team to do the customer research on their own.  Also, our sales org and SDRs can send customized microsites, with all the relevant content to a prospect and track the activity.

I like that it's integrated with Salesforce and you can fairly easily (for an additional fee) have the team set up custom filters. The team is super responsive and great to work with. 

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

Limitations with integrations with the platform. Also doesn't allow you to restrict # of users to licensing fee can grow quickly. 

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us to manage our customer references and available customer assets. This has automated the process and because it's integrated with Salesforce, it's always up to date with our current customer base.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

The user interface is simple and easy to navigate. The integration in Salesforce.com is also extremely useful. I like that ROInnovation syncs with Chatter so I receive email updates when assets are updated, changed and shared. I also like the "Top Assets" - assets that are most commonly being used by the rest of the sales organization and "Latest Assets" - assets that have been recently updated and/or added to the Vault/ROInnovation. The Spotlight feature (micro-website) is a great tool and our sales team has taken full advantage of this feature for prospecting. 

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

The tagging system on the backend/administrative side is extremely complicated making it hard for end users to find content. I have yet to fully understand how the tagging system works and it's extremely difficult to find tailored content for my prospects. Other than spotlights, there is no way to track the assets once they are sent to prospects/downloaded from the internet. 

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Content management
- We also want to make sure that our sales team can find all the sales assets they need throughout their sales cycle process when they need them to be successful
- We would also like to understand what content is being used by the sales org and also what content is resonating with our prospects

Very easy to manage and use, customers like the accessibility and the ability to easily share content with their colleagues using "spotlights". Data analytics is excellent, as is customer support.

lack of customization capabilities, and search could be better. Otherwise a very good product.

The support is truly stellar - they jump when you call and solve problems fast.

I need to get timely content out to a diverse customer base. I cannot afford to provide live service to everyone, so a robust self-service portal is essential. This system meets my needs.

- I had a lot of visibility and transparency into references that are available and ones that are not. I could also control how many times a reference is used so that we would not over- use it.
- Building out a reference program - it made it easy for sales to request references via the tool, rather than by email

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

- It takes quite  a lot of work to get everyone on the same page and everyone using the tool consistently. I remember having to educate a lot of people on the tool and trying to convince sales to use it.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- When being used appropriately and efficiently it improved speed and process. Everything was much quicker rather than going back and forth by email.

**What do you like best about Upland RO Innovation?**

Boulder Logic gave our company immediate ROI. Instead of relying on spreadsheets and emails and walking around, we can now know find better references that are perfectly matched in seconds - all within Salesforce. Reps now spend less hours searching for references and more time selling using our most powerful sales tool - our happiest customers. And that adds up to more deals in less time. This is why it's a 10X solution. From an administrative standpoint, I love being able to keep track of which references are over/under-used. Our large sales team LOVES the microsite capability! And nominating new references into the database only takes a minute or two. It's so easy and powerful, it blows my mind.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

I would like to see a feature added that automatically detects whether a new nominated reference is a duplicate record. Currently, it requires the admin or submitter to manually check. 

**Recommendations to others considering Upland RO Innovation:**

Given the merger between Boulder Logic and RO Innovation, it's unclear whether both platforms will persist independently or if they will mutually benefit as a combined platform at some point in the future. Decide which one is best for you. We chose Boulder Logic.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Qualtrics is trying to close more deals in less time while scaling at an incredibly fast pace. This demands efficiency, speed and transparency. Boulder Logic delivers on all three.

I find Boulder Logic is a great place to store assets as well as track outreach. 

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

I don't think the program is intuitive. I also don't like the fact that having seamless integration with SalesForce is a much more expensive add-on.

We needed a place to track advocacy outreach and this platform has allowed for that.

Reference View has formalized our reference process and transformed our program. What used to be done through email and spreadsheets is now managed online and is integrated with Salesforce. What a difference.

**What do you dislike about Upland RO Innovation?**

Some of the customized updates we'd like aren't always doable without incurring additional development costs.

**What problems is Upland RO Innovation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reference View has expedited the request process. It has allowed a small reference team to service a large sales team, and fulfill 600% more requests! Also, Reference View enables us to track reference activity so we avoid burning out our best reference customers. And we've grown the program by 300%.
