What do you like best about UI Bakery?

I have seven years of coding experience. My background is primarily with front-end serverless web development and mobile app development using front-end web technology.

That background has me hardwired to expect things to work a certain way. I think like a coder, even when working with low-code solutions. And that can be problematic with tools like Bubble. But not at all with UI Bakery.

During my first experience, I found the entire interface and approach extremely comfortable; like slipping on a well-worn pair of shoes. Everything was right where I expected it to be and worked like I expected it to work the first time. I had it connected to a custom Notion CRM in minutes without even looking at the docs.

The feature set and component selection cover almost every use case I can think of. UI Bakery exceeded both Retool and Appsmith in that category.

If I ever find myself wanting something very specific, I'm confident I can pull it off with UI Bakery, because code, variables, and data are first-class citizens. Whereas with tools like AppSmith, you have to manage each one in its own area and then awkwardly wire it up after. With UI Bakery, it's all just right there, and somehow still not cluttered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

I found some of the documentation a little thin on edge use cases. For example, when I installed the On-Premise version, I couldn't find a lot of information on how to connect to a database on the machine where the Docker was hosted. I connected to external data sources, with no problem, though.

However, I couldn't even get AppSmith or Retool to work on my machine at all. AppSmith documentation was out of date and Retool needed a ton of configuration that made it unclear why it wasn't working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

My current client is the CEO of a small, but lucrative investment firm. He wants to create custom tools to provide his clients with unique perspectives on financial data.

He is very stability and future-proof oriented. (He likes a belt and suspenders approach to technology.) In my current project, he has me using data orchestration to gather financial data, organize it, and store it in a Postgres database.

With UI Bakery, I can access the data from his server's database or directly from the API. So the data orchestration can be used for generating reports that can be accessed from the UI Bakery app. And for more immediate data exploration, UI Bakery can connect directly to the API.

He also insists on having a solution that can be locally hosted on his own server, as there can be a lot of churn in the tech industry. While exploring solutions, I tried setting up AppSmith, Retool, and UI Bakery on my personal Linux-based laptop. UI Bakery was the only one that installed the first time without any configuration or wrangling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

UI Bakery has a complete set of widgets and makes it very easy to design complex UI interfaces for single-page applications- I appreciate the connectors to external sources from which you can read and manipulate data.

Big plus for the application log, and the possibility to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

Minor bugs on some components (map, tree viewers).

Sometimes it is hard to understand the flow of execution for the actions triggered by status changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

When designing a UI usually there is not yet a model defined, on the other side, when developers think of the model for some data, they do not know how that is going to be represented.

Thanks to UI Bakery a quick google spreadsheet can be used to represent a SQL and a designer can see what kind of fields are required to draw good interfaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

Incredibly easy to prototype - I'm now using this every day and blowing EVERYONES MINDS!!!

I've been looking for this kind of tool for 10 years. In those 10 years I've gone from barely understanding Bootstrap and Javascript/JQuery to full-stack-development but ALWAYS was blocked by Cloud Infrastructure deployments and the challeges of learning a/some/many UI libraries.

UIB intuitive (for me) and elimates ALL THE HARD PARTS of development: the command line interfaces and disjointed-but-interconnected parts of an app. UI Bakery approaches it UI first and it's a HOME RUN! I'm amazed. I might just be able to convince my company to standardize on this to save MONTHS OF DEVELOPMENT TIME!

Integrated AI in custom Code.

EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE custom code blocks

The ACTION Engine - OMG YES!

Freaking EASY releases OMG! BUILT IN VERSION CONTROL?!

Modular Concept - I DON"T HAVE TO UPDATE EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME?!? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

Not full controls over every aspect of every component - need to "discover" attributes or funcitonality, or hack it myself.

Minor glitches in selecting objects, copying & pasting.

Documentation is being updated, kinda barebones rn. There are definitely best practices that should be talked about more!

Someone mentioned breakpoints in the code would be nice - agreed.

I do wish there was a way to "package" my code for a self-hosted deployement elsewhere. Like I can "BAKE" the app, then give it away to someone else to actually set up and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

Features are well implemented, well documented and, most importantly, work as described. Template library is robust and data source options are simple and easy to setup, configure, and modify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

Would love to see more complete external JavaScript library support, they are supported but the 3 I tried for my last project were all incompatible for unknown reasons. Also would be nice to have a little better method and features for creating an API or Query Data Source and referencing the endpoints within, currently a fair amount of coding has to be repeated in each "Action." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

Integrating disparate systems, providing consolidated resources and references, and eliminating costly and clunky single-purpose solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

UI Bakery offers an intuitive drag-and-drop interface that significantly speeds up UI development. It allows non-technical users to create functional and polished interfaces, which is great for teams without dedicated front-end developers. It is very easy to use and get up to speed quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

While UI Bakery is great for rapid prototyping, there could be more customization options available for advanced use cases. Some features are a bit limited if you're looking for deep customizations or more complex UI logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

UI Bakery solves the problem of time-consuming and complex front-end development by providing an easy-to-use platform for creating functional UIs without needing deep coding knowledge. This benefits me by speeding up the development process, reducing reliance on dedicated front-end developers, and enabling faster iteration on product features. What do you like best about UI Bakery?

The feature I like the most about UI Bakery is its convenience when it comes to building an app that could have taken days in hours. Me and my team are able to respond to requests in a timely manner and present our costumers a visually appealing and intuitive interface that they can use immediately. The idea to product process is extremely easy, and we have been able to contact the support team with ideas that were implemented in following versions. We use UI Bakery daily and we have never faced a blocker or problem that would not let us move forward with our integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

I somewhat dislike that some charcteristics of the components are not really customizable and the grid can make some components not fit like I would like them to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

UI Bakery solves the issue of versioning our products and allows us to answer to requests in a timely manner. Our users are able to give feedback and we can implement those changes immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

We have adopted UI Bakery for the management of all our immigrations cases in our company, and I can confidently say we are happy with it. The app lets us create anything we want in a manner very highly adaptable. We have made different types of reports and the best thing is you wouldn't face any problem while creating reports. I found UI Bakery very intuitive when I started with it! Everything works not have to long to understand, besides, customer service is highly efficient. Whenever I have an issue, they do everything possible to assist me, which is really important. The features and components are very helpful and easy to use and implement. In our company we use it everyday and we're very satisfied with this amazing tool. Also, you can integrate almost anything easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

While the basic features are intuitive, some of the more advanced functionalities might require additional time or support. Also, some users may experience occasional performance lags, especially with larger datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

UI Bakery has really made app development fast and easy for us, starting from the design to the building of an app. One of the main features is that it completely eliminates the necessity of coding, and with such an intuitive interface, not only those who are directly connected to programming can use this platform but also team members who are non-technical. Among other features, its ease of use has sped up our workflow by enabling us to build and change things fast, without bottlenecks that are often involved in more traditional development cycles. This means we have saved a lot of time and money as we no longer need to persistently reach out to coders every time we want some alteration. In addition to this proactiveness, the ability to prototype, design and launch features in one platform has also increased our team productivity because for one thing our designers would be working within the system that developers built (even if featuring is not fully implemented) so we could start delivering prototypes sooner. What do you like best about UI Bakery?

- It's fairly easy to get started with the basics when implementing

- Even though it's fairly easy to get started, it is very powerful with a lot of flexible features, so if you have the skills you can create something fairly comprehensively

- I have used the AI Assistant quite a lot when working on complex SQL queries or actions, and I would say 8/10 times it has been useful and come up with at least 90% of a solution

- The free plan still has the majority of features that anyone would ever have to use

- Error messages are clear and point to the location of the issue quite well

- OOTB theme on free plan is decent and quite pleasing on the eye (and more importantly, feel modern)

- Plenty of useful components, but the ability to write your own custom components means that the components system is pretty powerful

- Seems a lot more comprehensive and intuitive than it's rivals (I tried several before settling on UI Bakery) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

- The AI wasn't brilliant when it came to debugging, had to do a lot of manual prompts to get to a point where it understood what I was asking

- The database doesn't allow too many concurrent users (at least in the free plan), causing me to have to rewrite actions in a different way where sql queries are ran sequentially rather than concurrently. This leads to a slightly slower load time, even on a simpler application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am using this to develop a personal family finance application. Initially will be used by myself and my family to see what works and what doesn't. However, this is more of a prototype and will eventually be looking at developing a consumer application for families that want to control their finances in one place. What do you like best about UI Bakery?

Performance, scalability, API connections are pretty straightforward, easy to develop and it's learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

Sometimes loading times are a bit slow depending on the amount of data being loaded in a table. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

First and foremost, UI Bakery has helped us with a scalability and data integrity we've had for so long, we went from using several spreadsheets for a single department, to code and use on single application for each department, which improved our response time to clients and internal services, as well as having the exact information we need regardless of new changes or additions done to one application. All this led to great customer reviews to us and we were capable to take on more tasks for the same amount of time. Truly a game changer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UI Bakery?

We've been using UI Bakery for several years to automate our operations. We started with small apps, but now we have critical internal systems fully implemented with this platform. The ability to achieve results quickly is a standout feature. While it appears simple initially, it's incredibly powerful and flexible. Everything we wanted to build was possible with UI Bakery.

The team behind UI Bakery is exceptional. They are always responsive and helpful, ensuring any issues or questions are addressed promptly. This level of support has made our experience very positive.

The platform’s robust capabilities combined with excellent customer service have made UI Bakery an indispensable tool for our development needs. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to streamline their operations and improve productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UI Bakery?

One thing we would like to see is the addition of more components and easier customization options. Having the ability to organize apps into folders would also be a great improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UI Bakery solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're a relatively small company that needed an ERP system, but buying and adapting one would be too expensive and time-consuming. Plus, we'd have to change our processes to fit the system.

With UI Bakery, we could quickly build software around our existing processes. It saves us money and time, and we don’t need extensive coding. This flexibility and speed have really boosted our productivity and made our operations much smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
