What do you like best about Totango?

One of the great qualities of totango lies in the details. Each and every aspect of it works fine as it is designed. The value comes from the parts working together and creating something which is bigger than its parts. Segmentation, automatisation, e-mail campaigns and organizing all in one place. What do you dislike about Totango?

Totango as a product has two key problems. One of them is your guide - the other one is its high complexity.

For the first point: Your success managers are doing a great job. Your Support Managers excel in their performance. But your guide can be complicated to navigate and for a beginner, it is quite challenging to find everything. I understand that I am in a quite unique position because the person who introduced totango in our company has shortly thereafter moved to another department and I had to start again from more or less nothing. Additionally, our company is in Germany, so scheduling with your success managers was difficult.

So what I wished for was a better structured and more in-depth written explanation.

For the second Problem - In my Opinion Totango was planned in our company as a Tool used by our team equally. In my opinion that is not realistic. Totango needs an Admin who controls everything and works for the team because there are so many customization options. Don´t get me wrong I love Totango for it. But your Onboarding strategy should focus on hammering this message home: Totango will need someone who takes responsibility for it. Otherwise, it will get abandoned. Recommendations to others considering Totango:

You will want to make sure that your data is correctly uploaded to Totango and that it is updated correctly and reguarely. Don´t try to save money on this point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Totango solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are a team of six people trying to manage 3000 Accounts with over 10.000 Users. We can´t keep up with that without Totango, plain and simple.

What do you like best about Totango?

The system was easy to implement. From connecting SalesForce to Totango, to uploading additional data attributes, the system was quick to perform and easy to understand. The implementation team offered suggestions and explanations for the low-hanging fruit of business processes and practices we needed out of the box. This allowed for quick adoption and easy-to-plan roll-out of other processes/functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Totango?

Limited bi-directional synchronization with user/contract attributes for SalesForce. Some processes require multiple pieces to function perfectly for proper execution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We ended up without a CRM tool with short/no notice, so getting a system up and online with task management and transparency into the CS departments activities has allowed us to move quickly back into normal day-to-day activities with limited risk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Totango?

The tool is centred around driving product usage across multiple modules so that customer goals are achieved.

The data integration points are great, I was able to sync everything I wanted. The ones I couldn't was because I was not able to get the data out of my own systems.

From automation perspective, a lot of thought has definitely gone into making lives easier. It is not fancy, but I would say just right to do the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Totango?

Not able to utilize collection data in customer health - or take actions based on collection data. They have workarounds but I believe that once raw data is inside Totango, we should be able to play around inside Totango only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best feature is the ability to work independently from Marketing and Reporting and the empowerment that comes from running campaigns generated from CS, managed from CS and reviewed from CS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Totango?

What do you like best about Totango?

The ability to customize just about every aspect of the customer relationship is critical; the tool conforms to our workflow instead of forcing us into pre-defined tracks/roles/journeys. We can automate much of the manual data entry for work being done, communications, and deliverables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm still relatively new to Totango, but it's difficult to self-start. I find some UI aspects unintuitive, but the navigational learning curve isn't that steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
