## Tock Reviews
  ### 1. Misleading sales and features/integrations that disappear

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason P. | Marketing Director & Lead Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Honestly, Tock looked good until we implemented it and realized the system is configured to support high-pressure upgrades for features that were billed as included during sales process. The customer support is there to support keeping you locked into your contract when you complain that features billed as "in tier" don't end up being included. When you try to cancel, they go into defensive/aggressive mode and refuse to cooperate despite evidence the issues are on their end.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The Tock business model is to "bait and switch" selling features that don't apply to your package once you sign the contract. For small business owners on a budget, this kind of strategy is very harmful, especially for new bars and restaurants. Their marketing says all the right things, then sales glosses over questions about features and integrations assuring you things you need are included. Then, when you implement, you're told "Oh no, did I say that? No, you have to pay more to upgrade to a higher tier plan."

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, Tock was considered solely for reservations and waitlist management via integration with Toast POS.

  ### 2. Operator of Tock since 2019 as a Maitre'D, General Manager and Service Director.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele D. | Maitre'D/ Service Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

It keeps the operator in mind. They understand how we think as restaurantures, yet also thinks about the kitchen flow and the inevitability of guest variability. They work with you and respond quickly with issues, and humbly take feedback. My favorite aspect of Tock though is how they pivoted with the Covid Pandemic and in real time allowed us to switch our buisness model for take out and continue to use them as a medium to engage with guests. They have maintained that inginuity in post covid times and real time respond to the trends of guests.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Based on feedback from guests, it seems that the consumer platform can be confusing. about 20% of our dine guests will call us in the midst of making a reservation and do it over the phone (we still create a profile for them). It isn't a privacy issue (which I think is a guest architype) but a confusion issue. I'm unsure why, as I also use Tock as a guest and I understand it, but it may be due to my behind the scenes knowledge.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Safe, secure mediator between our operations and the guest.

  ### 3. The Inn on Broadway - Feedback

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evie B. | Hotel Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

- Book with Google integration
- Relatively easy for staff to book a simple dinner reservation
- Easy to assign specific accounts permissions and implement restrictions for bypassing deposits and fees.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

- Lack of support for private dinners: The fact that the integration with TripleSeat is merely for leads has been quite troublesome. Additionally, there is no good way for us to promote our private dining events via Tock, as we currently have a free reservation with an additional fee of $250 for a deposit. This, however, prevents the reservation from appearing on Reserve with Google, and also limits our ability to prevent double bookings across the two platforms.
- The inability to unassign a reservation from a table makes it challenging to move the floorplan around
- Lack of support for Heartland Restaurant
- When faced with a sudden shutdown at our property due to unforseen building issues, there was no easy way to inform our reservations, and customer support only told us that we would need to manually cancel every single reservation.
- Guest notes not being able to show on the reservation as tags, it would be nice if we didn't have to manually tag each reservation as "birthday" or "anniversary" when guests indicate in the questions that they are celebrating one of these events

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock is more affordable than the competitors, allowing us to book more reservations without the concern of paying per guest that books

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Evie, thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about Tock. We understand the importance of addressing this feedback. Your input will help us make necessary improvements for a more seamless experience.

  ### 4. Wineries who Tock

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole Y. | Director of Hospitality, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

As a manager, I’m thrilled with Tock’s impact on our operations. The ability to create and manage a variety of experiences and times all within one platform is incredibly convenient. I also love how Tock allows us to offer customizable add-ons for each experience, making every visit unique and special. Tock has truly enhanced our reservation process and guest satisfaction—highly recommended!

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

While Tock offers many benefits, one challenge we’ve encountered is its complexity when training new staff. The platform’s extensive features and options can be overwhelming for those unfamiliar with it, making the learning curve a bit steep. It requires a significant investment of time and effort to get new team members up to speed, which can be a bit frustrating. Despite this, once staff are trained, Tock’s capabilities truly shine.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock solves the challenge of managing multiple tasting experiences by consolidating everything into one platform. This reduces our stress and simplifies operations, allowing us to focus more on providing exceptional guest experiences instead of handling complex scheduling and reservations.

  ### 5. Does it do everything OpenTable does? Yeah, but let me tell you why I like it more....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ragan B. | Marketing & Communications Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

100% the best thing about Tock is the customer service and support. We do a lot of events and sometimes, we need to change something like a setting we've never done before, or we need to figure out how to pull a specific report. I call, very quickly speak with an actual human, and that human is so helpful and kind. Not just once, ever time. Every time we call, there is genuine kindness and helpfulness from customer support services. It's amazing, and truly sets it above any other service we've ever used. We used another service simultaneously, and we closed that account last December. We are still trying to get the correct details and payments back. Thanks, Tock!

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Wish we had a little bit more input on what emails from Tock about our events looked. Sometimes the reports are hard to run, but after a while, or a quick phone call, we can figure it out.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to make ticketing pre-paid, which has diminished our no-show rate to 0%. We can add 20% and ensure servers are taken care of.

  ### 6. Great for Wineries

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Schram V. | Events Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock offers a nice variety of avenues for setting up your business' experiences, events, and reserverations for guests to conveniently book into. The back-end system is easy to learn and implement its various capabilities, including menu modifiers, discount options, custom scheduling, etc. The guest-facing pages and booking processes are attractive, yet simple, and straightforward. Customer support is helpful, and appropriately passes inquiries up the chain of command when needed. The event marketing links & integration offerings automatically provided when creating events and experiences is very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Some of our guests have noted the processing fees being a burden when added to ticket prices, tax, and gratuity (when applicable). Other companies/small businesses we partner with have chosen alternate reservation platforms because of the fees on top of hosting costs.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By allowing our guests to conveniently register for weekly experiences, purchase event tickets, and especially book their own table reservations online, it saves our events team countless emails, phone calls, and hours of booking efforts. The electronic guest check-in system works very well and saves both time and paper resources for larger events.

  ### 7. Tock works well for our needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh M. | SVP of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

We really love hot intuitive Tock's interface is for our team, it just takes a quick training to understand how to operate. They also have a good chat so if we have any issues we just ask them and it gets a response very quickly. The system communicates well with our customers and really works, pretty slick actually.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

We are a little different because we are not a restaurant, but use Tock to sell tickets to tour our facility, a chocolate factory. There aren't any ways for the customer, when booking, to see the exact times of the tours and even understand there's not a 15 minute grace period. We wish there were ways to sell 1 off events better on Tock, but alas we understand their business is primarily for restaurants. Also, we have noticed their customer service isn't as instant as it used to be via a live chat. Now you send a message and have to wait back for a response.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We sell tour tickets to our chocolate factory, so not really exactly what Tock is made for.

  ### 8. Winery experience and Tock reservations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debbie E. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock saves our business time and is easy to use for management of reservations.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Stripe as the processing provider. They are very difficult to even try to work with and dont provide the level of service to the fees that they charge. There is no one to talk to and a chat service may get to you within possibly 24 hours. They held up out launch date as they have a no wine policy but we are doing experiences at the winery that of course include wine. This is no different than the restaurants they provide service for but it took us weeks to clear that up asfter we asked why they were discrimanatng ( of course by email or chat , not one person talked to us) against our business and supplying others with the service we required. Recently they shut down all of our processing without notice (in error) when we launched a major new experience and caaused us alot of problems and money. . Stripe has been the worst processing company ever we have had to deal with and we would not use them if it wasnt for TOCK requiring us to.If we could use another processing company we would and hope that Tock is looking for a alternative.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock is working with us on when people transfer or cancel their bookings and we have a no refund policy.

  ### 9. Best capabilities we've found for our unusual business model!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea S. | Director Of Sales Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

We love that Tock permits us to offer so many different activities/experiences. We are a winery with a restaurant that hosts private events, and several difference reservations types/areas, and sells tickets for public events. We enjoy being able to change things on a whim and control when reservations open automaticlly, etc. I enjoy the ease of getting a hold of sometime to help me when there is an issue.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

We dislike needing to pay for two different Tock accounts so that certain reservations don't affect our restaurant covers. I really dislike having to manually move over every single purchase that bought a ticket for public events when we have incliment weather and need to reschedule. It's sometimes frustrating when you republish a schedule and things that you set in place disapear.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spreading out our reservations, selling event tickets, blocking off areas when needed, etc.

  ### 10. Streamlined Reservation Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia B. | Wine Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock's interface is generally easy to use, and guests generally are able to use it without to adjust their reservation without assistance from our team. Though some back-end functionality seems counter-intuitive, customer support has always been easily accessible for solutions.
Tags and guest profiles are easy to use, accessible, and helpful to service.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Setting up events that are out of the ordinary [classes, tasting dinners, etc.] has always seemed to be more difficult than necessary.

To move a future reservation's table assignment takes two clicks and feels a little clunky considering it's a main responsibility of most hosts or maitre ds.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock allows us to streamline the way in which we accept reservations and saves our team time by allowing guests to make their own reservations online, tracking guest profiles, and helping create efficient seating plans in the dining room.

  ### 11. Optimizing Guest Experience and Sraffing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin R. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Accepting reservations on Tock for our small tasting room allows us to be best prepared for our guests and provide them a customized experience. We also appreciate the data insights we gain from the platform and use this to make operational improvements.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

It can be cumbersome to set ylup your offerings in an efficient way, for example products or add-ons must be individually created for each experience, rather than created once and added to each experience, if they needs to be edited, it has to be done several times depending on the number of experiences that offer that item.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

tock is continually updating and we appreciate that multiple experiences can now be offered on the same tables.

It woukd be great if experiences that are offered on in-house could be offered on tables with experiences offered online.

  ### 12. Tock is dynamic and beneficial for our business.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reto B. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I enjoy how quickly we get support responses. I have always said that you can tell Tock is a tech company founded by and for Hospitality professionals. I enjoy that Tock is highly customizable and valuse efficiency in terms of duplicating experiences, communication preferences, item pricing, etc.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Gift cards! I would love to be able to offer gift cards through Tock...

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We replaced our impromptu/DIY ordering system (created quickly out of necessity at the beginning of COVID) with Tock on 2020/21. Tock has been invaluable to our continued success of a pickup meal program that we didn't expect would still exist when major COVID restrictions were lifted and people started throwing parties again. Most important to this are 1) custome support, 2) adaptability, 3) efficient duplication and creation of experiences, with highyly customizable features.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for the positive feedback, Reto! We're trilled to hear that you find Tock dynamic and beneficial for your business. Our team takes pride in providing quick and efficient support to our customers, and we're glad to hear that it has been valuable to you!

  ### 13. Easy to use for restaurants

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I personally really enjoy using Tock. It's quite easy to use. It's very useful for the restaurant I work at since there's omakase and guests' are able to book and pay in advance. I also like how guests are able to pre-pay for add-ons as well. The customer service for Tock is top notch too.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Although Tock is great overall, something that really irks me is that it continues to log me out almost every week. Very minimal, but definitely still an annoying inconvenience. I also don't enjoy the guest profiles on Tock, it's quite complicated and not super simple. We recently transitioned to having both a pre-paid menu and also an ala-carte dining menu. Personally, I don't prefer Tock for the dining room side.. I feel as if it's not super organized compared to other platforms. Also you're not able to block off reservations for certain periods of time.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guests are able to book omakase dinners in advance and pay beforehand. They're also able to pay for the add-ons as well. This makes it easier since we usually always have an accurate count and reduces guests to not show up to their reservation.

  ### 14. Very intuitively interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse C. | Tasting Room Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Very easy to use. The concept and design are very simple but Tock has so many useful features.

The user experience is easy and simple on both the customer and the business side of things. If I owned my own business, then I would definitely use Tock. I has completely revamped and disrupted to entire wine industry.

The company I use it for, is a winery, but its application can be used for many different industries.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

One idea that comes to mind, is giving the customer the ability to mark down that they will be late for a reservation. A common encounter with customers is them calling to let me know they are late. If the customer has the ability on their end, it would save our employees an enormous amount of time, not taling on the phone when we could be doing other tasks

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes the reservation system easy and seamless so that our employees ca. focus on other tasks.

  ### 15. Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon M. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock's interface is super easy to understand and use. Anyone who has had experienceusing any other interface will be able to easily understand and comprehend Tock. As a business, we can contact guests via text message, which is easier than a phone call on a Friday night.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The only features that need some work are the reassigning of tables/bar seats. When moving reservations, you dont get a warning screen. You have to really pay attention to the status box around the floorplan showing you every time something is moved if its been assigned properly. Kind of easy to miss.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I have needed support from Tock, they have always answered promptly. I am unaware of any major issues when using the platform.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Sharon, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We appreciate the feedback around reassigning of tables/bar seats and will make sure it’s heard by the right team.

  ### 16. A good solution for reservations & restaurant event ticket sales in one

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron S. | Sales & Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Before using Tock we had to use a second platform to sell tickets for wine dinners and educational events we hold at the restaurant. With Tock, we're able to do it all in one place. There's always a way to accommodate a special reservations floorplan and the personalized support to get there is on point. On the floor we seat over 1000 guests and have multiple iPads running the program at one time so it works for large scale operations.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

We've had some issues when the app has made updates, but I think that can be said for all cloud based SAS.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock solved our issues of taking deposits for reservations and charging for ticketed events while taking regular reservations all in one place.

  ### 17. Easy to Use Reservation System with Great Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glen P. | Owner / Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

If you have any issues with the system or questions that you need answered, there is always a human that's just a phone call away. We've never had to wait for very long when calling for customer support, and they've always been able to either resolve the issue or talk us through fixing it ourselves in order for us to be able to use the system more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The only downside that I've found with Tock is when trying to work with reservations while using the app on my phone versus the website or app on a tablet. The size of the phone makes it more difficult to deal with, but it is doable.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock allows us to accept reservations easily for our space. It also allows us to set variable deposits depending on the day of the week and / or party size of the groups that are reserving tables.

  ### 18. Great for the guest, frustrations abound for Restaurant back end.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** emily S. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock has a ton of upsides such being able to clearly and easily plot your floor plan, seat and move tables, and make pertinent notes visible to hosts or other managers. The waitlist is also very inuitive and the messaging features with both template and custom message options are amazing and super helpful. Customer support is also readily avaialble and has always been wonderful!

Also the ease for guests as well. We always have guests compliment how easy it waas to make a resertvation!

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The parts that are the downsides for me is how overly complicated setting a service up can be, especially special hours/services/events. It could be MUCH simpler to set up and do the same thing in the end.
Also the back end is not organized well in term of viewing reports or getting data. Reports for events for example are in a sub menu of "Item Income Summary" instead of the reports area. It can cause a lot of extra leg work getting the infirmation needed.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock takes a lot of potentially confusiong information for guests and makes choosing what dining area thwy would like with ease, as well as providing a great platform to set up events and special services within the restaurant.

  ### 19. Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie P. | Director of the Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Customer service was stellar. Every time we needed something the team was there to answer.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The software cannot handle running a festival format event. We had multiple ticket types per event within the festival and keeping track of all attendees was impossible to do in app. In addition to that Tock did not allow us to capture zip code data without a work around. And, people can opt out of sharing their email address with us which made reminders outside of the app impossible.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We sell tickets to our annual Wine + Food Festival and Tock is built for selling tickets to an event - but not to a festival.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Natalie, we're pleased to hear that you had a positive experience with our customer service team! We appreciate your feedback around managing a festival format event. Your feedback is valuable to us and we will make sure it’s heard by the right team.

  ### 20. Easy to use, manage and quick confirmations.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe B. | Professional Freelancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I like that I can easily book for our customers. I can get suggestions for restaurants when traveling. Lastly, it is easy to make changes.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I'm not too fond of, that as a business it is not easy to integrate with our wine direct and use the customers' credit cards on file. We have to input it again into TOCK. I also do not like that it is not easy to merge a customer's account if we find duplicates because they used another email. These 2 things are my biggest pet peeves.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing our guest to make reservations in our tasting room. It allows us more time.

  ### 21. Ease of use in a nutshell

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James A. | AGM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

The open communication with the team has always been the best for me. On more than a few occasions over the years, Tock has adjusted elements to be what I asked for, and it has been much better than my experience with most other POS

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

A bit more customability from day to day settings would be very nice, but honestly mostly good things from me. I was upset to hear about the Resy purchase, I really hope things remain as they are with Tock and not adjusted to how Resy opperated.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to run separate experiences in our dining room at the same time.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for your feedback, James! The American Express acquisition will not affect our customers. You will continue to receive the same great Tock product and customer service, with the added value of reaching a broader network of diners. We hope this alleviates your concerns.

  ### 22. Tock for Wineries in Wine Country

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaela a. | Hospitality and Events Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock is fantastic for wineries and tasting rooms! The system’s ability to create and manage a variety of experiences, events, and add-ons is unmatched. It’s incredibly versatile and user-friendly, making it a top choice for streamlining reservations and enhancing guest experiences.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Tock's system can be confusing when managing multiple reservations for different offerings at the same time. Training new staff to use the platform is also quite challenging due to its complexity. Additionally, the blueprints could benefit from a more user-friendly design to simplify navigation and improve overall usability.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock is helping manage reservations at a multi-winery facility. Helps me manage wineires and their tastings.

  ### 23. Using Tock as GM of a Michelin-Starred Restaurant

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan W. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I like the ease of use and the clear design. Everything is laid out in a way which makes sense and is relatively intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I don't love how often changes are made. I feel like every few weeks I am reviewing our bookings and thinks have been tweaked ever so slightly. They're small changes but generally sort of pointless and disrupt the flow. Some of the more recent adjustments have actually complicated the visual experiences in my opinion.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our representative has been helping us with the concern around reservation deposits and credit card holds which has bed. Very proactive.

  ### 24. Reserve Effortlessly with Tock

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lulu Island W. | Events Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock is a fantastic platform for managing reservations, keeping clients informed, and handling payments. Its Control Panel is intuitive, and the Support Team is responsive and clear, often providing video guidance when needed. We use Tock daily, and I’m often making reservations with nearly every phone call. Once you get familiar with the platform, it becomes intuitive and easy to navigate. I created a summer event on the platform with ease and easily checked how it appeared on our website. By reviewing it iteratively, I could identify what was working well and what needed adjustments.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Sometimes, what seems like a quick fix can turn into a complex issue, but the support team is exceptional. We've only encountered one problem that our in-house setup couldn't handle, but overall, the platform consistently delivers on its promises.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

  ### 25. Tock for a small restaurant

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I found Tock pretty easy to implement and the customer support helpful whenever I got stuck. While it felt like it was lacking features when we first started using it a year ago (credit card holds, being able to assign multiple experiences to tables) it now has those features.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

One of the downsides to using Tock is the surcharge. They charge a processing fee to the guest, but then also charge us an additional fee on top of our monthly fee and credit card processessing fees. One of my servers also said the interface feels "cluttered."

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock is helping us organize our dining room as well as allowing us to take reservations online, keep track of who is in the dining room and the server they are assigned to, and track checked items.

  ### 26. Most cost effective reservation system, not incredibly user friendly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I like the ability to sell tickets for events and the customization when it comes to guest questions and tags.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Far too complicated to book a large party even as an administrator in the system. I shouldn't have to book it as a small party, go in to edit, and adjust it up to the party size I need. Still can't figure out how to move a waitlist guest right to the reservation sheet. Reporting could be more in depth, for example, I can't generate a report of guests that have attended a ticketed event. Would also be nice if the feedback emails included the servers name/table number/time/ any information other than just the date they dined.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use tock as a reservation system and for selling event tickets.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> We appreciate your feedback on Tock's reservation system and event ticketing capabilities. We understand your concerns about the complexity of booking large parties. We are constantly working to improve our system and will take your feedback into consideration for future updates.

  ### 27. Tock is not designed for all hospitality experiences

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica D. | Sr Manager of Hospitality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock works fine as a restaurant reservation platform but lacks necessary capabilities to support selling and scheduling of experiences.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I would like to have more opportunity to customize the dashboard and schedule. Also wish there was a POS that could be added so we could sell experience tickets to guest who are onsite and have not booked online. Customization of the followup email would be great specifically the ability to include hyperlinks to other review sites since the Tock reviews are only available internally.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing a necessary platform for restaurant reservations

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, Erica. We will make sure it’s heard by the right team, and will follow-up soon.

  ### 28. Customer Service Associate Tock User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kandi P. | Customer Service, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

I love being able to quickly help guests reschedule, cancel, or refund their experiences.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I am unable to resend the booking confirmations with all the details a guest needs for arrival. Typically a guest reaches out when they are unable to find the original email and I have to make my message to send out vs being able to resend it in Tock. Also, I am not able to edit the reservation name in Tock.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock helps our business reserve experiences at our chocolate factory. Tours, classes, and private events.

  ### 29. User Friendly, Organized & Helpful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tatjana M. | Restaurant Supervisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Tock?**

How user-friendly it is. There is nothing complicated about it & and it is very easy to use. I also enjoy that if you do need help with something the live chat option is available to use so you don't have to be on hold for hours or send a massive email chain for a quick question!

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I dislike that you can't delete archived experiences that you are no longer using.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping our business stay organized and on top of reservations. It is also allowing us to stay streamlined during service! It also provides helpful insight on how many covers we have per day & guest feedback!

  ### 30. A good way to get sales from your website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben M. | Head Chef, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

It can accept and take payement for our busiest days like New Years Eve and Fathers Day up to 30 days ahead of time. The order prints automatically to the kitchen 2 hours before it is due.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

An order for immediate pickup does not always print and needs to be manually printed. It is easy to miss an order that a customer wants ASAP.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock takes orders and payments automatically for speical event days like Thanksgiving, New Yearrs Eve, and Father's Day.

  ### 31. Best of multiple reservation platforms that I've used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kent B. | Private Dining Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Experience delineation for guests. Customer service team is fantastic. Singular backend platform versus other companies' app vs web portals.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Some common sense quality of life issues need to be fixed, such as trying to create multiple closed days in a row.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to customize our reservation template to a much more granular level than other platforms. We offer multiple experiences and can clearly outline them for guests, whereas Resy only allowed us 15 characters on a button to do so.

  ### 32. Great all around support for my high end restaurant.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tockk has had amazing customer service and has really helped us hone in on our business. Deposits have decreased cancellations dramatically since we started taking them and integration into our day-to-day has been smooth as possible. The biggest thing I respect about talk is that they have not changed their pricing since we signed up with them 6+ years ago. This goes along way with us.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

There are often a lot of changes to the platform which can make it slightly difficult to train staff. I will say that the communications on the changes are quite good.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would say the ability to limit cancellations and no-shows with deposits has been huge for us.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that our deposit feature has significantly reduced cancellations and no-shows for your restaurant. We appreciate the feedback and will make sure it’s heard by the right team.

  ### 33. Industry Professional

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thao D. | Assistant general manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

After years of using TOCK as a business and consumer, I find it very easy to navigate. It is most up to date with new and high end dining.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

It can be a little difficult at first using TOCK as a restaurant. There are little trick and tips to navigate it easier but at times it can be time consuming.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The availability to change a restaurant's backend in real time is a great help.

  ### 34. Good, but nothing's perfect

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin A. | Director of Operations & Logistics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Integrations between our ecommerce system to pull in details about guests.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Some of the functionality that would work best for our team isn't available, such as the ability to make multiple experiences available on one table. There are some features that are very intuitive, but others that are not as easy to utilize.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guest ability to see live availability and book their own experiences saves our team a great deal of phone/email work.

  ### 35. Easy team communication and collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wine and Spirits | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Having sections for guest notes, easy to reference icons, and team access to accounts is helpful. It helps the team to communicate prior to visits leading to a seamless experience for the guest.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

I wish businesses could edit user names and email addresses. With our integration in our CRM it often creates duplicate acocunts for guests who misspell their name or email and we can't merge the accounts becuase it won't corredtly map back to Tock (i.e. if they are a club member)

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping our reservations organized with guest notes and reference information saved so we don't need to constantly check in on allergies and preferences for repeat guests.

  ### 36. So glad we switched

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer C. | Foh manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

We love the ease of use across all our restaurants. The ability to take deposits and payments for events has been a huge part of why we switched to Tock and why we love it.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Sometimes the app updates frequently and is disruptive for service.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our reservations have picked up using tock and we love the email reviews. It allows us to interact directly with our guests after their visit

  ### 37. Tock is efficent and easy to use.

**What do you like best about Tock?**

At our vineyard and winery the best features of Tock are the CRM capabilities that allow our staff to leave and read insights about our clients as well as its integrations in our POS software

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

There are not many! That said, we do wish there was a better system for holding credits for no shows

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The constant updates and taking in customer feedback is highly important to us.

  ### 39. Easy, user friendly!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda H. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

The accessbility for front end user and easy to navigate on platform.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

The lack of comprehensive reports on the back end.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't believe they're necessarily solving a problem per se, as there are quite a few different reservation platforms, but it is in line with the industry average and familairity within the industry so we align with our peers in the Napa Valley.

  ### 40. Battle Tested!!

It spite of extensive experience, We find the back office and setup complex and confusing.

We use Tock for routine reservations and ticketed events. The customer interface is an effective landing page for links from our website, newsletters, and social media posts.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, Philip. We will make sure it’s heard by the right team.

Tock is extremely flexible and useful - it allows us to plan for a number of different service scenarios and to quickly and easily maintain waitlists and update on the fly over the course of a shift.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

Training can take a while for staff who are used to other tools and mistakes can be made a little too easily that don't have an easy way to undo. The cost is a little high.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock maintains my waitlist and keeps the reservation book tight, it helps automate our communication with guests and maximize our seatings.

I like that we are able to offer multiple experiences for guests to book and are not limited to one experience per table. This makes managing reservations much easier. I also like that there is a support chat available at all times.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

From a customer perspective, we have gotten a fair amount of feedback that they cannot modify their reservation easily, so there is still some reservation managment we must do.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to offer multiple experiences to our guests so we can have a wider range of guests coming to visit us.

  ### 46. Tock is a great platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Tock?**

Tock is great, because it has many features that really help the restaurant streamline the reservation process.

**What do you dislike about Tock?**

It takes some time getting used to the way Tock works. Also the app could use an update. It's hard to access Tock from smaller devices like a phone. Also since the last update it's hard to see what is someone's occasion when they come to the restaurant. You need to click an extra button which doesn't streamline the process of getting people seated.

**What problems is Tock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tock offers features that other platforms don't offer.

**Official Response from Dezie O:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're glad to hear that you find Tock helpful in streamlining the reservation process. We appreciate your feedback about the app and will make sure it’s heard by the right team.
