What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

Great team to work with: super responsive, open to feedback & suggestions, timely responses. Great platform that is easy to use for both the user and the admin. If we ever had issues, they would work to resolve them as quickly as possible! They provide a perfect balance of helping & guiding us, but also empowering us to create the pages on our own.

It was a great experience overall. I provided feedback and suggestions for improvements along the way and the team was always open & receptive and also happy to hear. They were great to work with, had easy to follow meeting notes and action items, always responded quickly and effectively when we had issues, they always seek to find the best solutions. I am really so happy that we found this company! It is a fantastic platform and a company filled with kind and helpful people. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Thoughtfarmer in a heartbeat! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThoughtFarmer?

I would have liked to see more info up front before our sessions to maximize the efficiency of the session. Most of my team members had not ever had an intranet before, so it was very new to them.

Also, it would have been good to have met with the ThoughtFarmer team after the content inventory to discuss how the content would actually be set up. We wanted documents in a document library and not have a separate page for each piece of content. We did not spend enough time discussing the different content types: a page, a group, a section, etc. I think we would have made progress faster if our sessions were working sessions vs learning sessions. Just send us the overview, the powerpoint and a video, then we can do the creating together during our meeting.

Also, sometimes the meetings started 1-5 minutes late. I know that ThoughtFarmer books back to back meetings, but I think it's important to start meetings on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

It has a clean look and feel on the front end and an easy-to-use back end. The customer support from the beginning through to the launch and sustainment of our Intranet was top notch. There were some features that we had hoped would be built in and weren't. We had to get our designed to build some customized features. What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

ThoughtFarmer is organized and easy to use for a variety of demographics. The user experience allows staff to quickly find what they need and access critical company information, helping to bring our teams and offices together.

What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

We are a small organization, and recognize that we’re probably only using ThoughtFarmer at a small percentage of its actual power. Knowing this, ThoughtFarmer has been very patient in helping our org understand what tools and features would be a great fit for our office to implement from this tool.

The implementation was a breeze. Our client rep was very organized in our meetings, never missing a single item she had committed to following up on. I felt heard, valued and checked in on at every step in the process. Staff appreciates how easy the software is to use. Their ThoughtFarmer community page and comprehensive YouTube videos have been invaluable.

I would recommend ThoughtFarmer to anyone looking for a great Intranet software tool.

Updated: August 2024. We're still using ThoughtFarmer, and I love the features they've added over the past few years to make it even easier to navigate and use as both an employee, and as the site admin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

The Thought Farmer customer service is great. They work with you from beginning to end by providing training, best practices, and support on layout. With the site now launched, monthly check-ins with the team help answer any questions and address challenges. When a question can't be addressed in the meeting, it gets escalated to the tech support team who are really fast in their responses.

Setting up the intranet is pretty intuitive. The layout is engaging and simple for users. Pages can be easily moved around and reconfigured.

The intranet has been a great way to bring employees together across the company.

Thought Farmer is always updating and improving the platform and there have been some helpful upgrades over the two years since we launched.

What do you dislike about ThoughtFarmer?

Customization is challenging with Thought Farmer - it either can't be done or has a fairly high hourly fee. Make sure that you're happy with the out of the box features.

The analytics tool (not developed by Thought Farmer) is kind of hard to understand but they did mention they're working on a in-house one that will be more customized to user needs.

What do you like best about ThoughtFarmer?

I like the no-code element of Thought Farmer. It is so easy and intuatiuve to use. However, if you want to get technical there are many options to do this including custom CSS. The no-code element is one of the best I have seen. Thought farmer professional services team were also really helpful and guided us the whole way through the process.

Edit after 2 years: Thought Farmer continues to be a really useful platform for us. We continue to upload critical documentation to our intranet as well as foster a collaborative culture with interesting team updates. Thought Farmer also continues to provide really well designed product updates with exciting functionality. We would recommend Thought Farmer to anyone currently considering an intranet solution. What do you dislike about ThoughtFarmer?

There is not much to dislike here. Thought Farmer works very well for our company. Perhaps a company with more specific intranet requirements might not like the page and card layout system (i.e you create pages and then place cards on those pages) but it worked really well for us. Not only is this an out-of-the-box intranet, but very customizable too. With each version upgrade, comes new bells & whistles. It's intuitive and straight-forward to learn so that you can manage your own content in a quick, cost-effective manner vs waiting for a company to make changes for you!
