The staff at ThoughtFarmer have been everything you could ever wanted when it comes to online support and just superb customer service. Even if one of our contacts was on vacation, they took it upon themselves to reach out to let us know that our concern/situation was being taken care of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing is higher than we usually spend on a platform like ThoughtFarmer, but we keep renewing our contract with TF and I hope we stay with them for as long as I'm here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ThoughtFarmer's CMS is easy to use, intuitive, and engaging. The social component for employees to be able to like, comment and share information opens the door for more cross-functional and bottom-up communication that we struggled with in the past. The team is constantly looking for ways to improve and each release has come with great enhancements since our launch in 2016. As well, their support team is second to none! I'd like to see a way to push headline news to the rotating banner on the homepage from multiple sources so not all posts from a specific news blog is showcased in the rotation. Also would like the ability to generate an email newsletter to all employees with stories that we select vs stories that are "popular". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is one of the easiest to use. My favorite piece of this software is the search function -the quick, predictive search is great for both admins and end users.I also like the flexibility to design the site in a way that fits our business needs. Our users like to use our intranet, and it certainly helps keep everyone on the same page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to see the site integrate with more Microsoft products. It's a selfish request, as our company is a Microsoft shop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We love how our Thoughtfarmer is basically the Google of our company. The search functionality was the most important feature when we moved over, and it doesn’t disappoint. Staff can find any and all information instantly, which is very important when there is a member waiting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the user settings are a little clunky when syncing up to Active Directory. It’s been an ongoing process to see what works for us in terms of notifications, information, and custom cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that ThoughtFarmer is continuously evolving their platform to meet the needs of their clients and to become more intuitive, robust and user-friendly. It is easy to use from both an administration and user perspective and their support team is great. After 7 years we continue to see increased engagement and new ways to utilize the platform. Nothing comes to mind. There are minor suggestions for improvement, but those are often implemented in future releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working with ThoughtFarmer has been one of the best vendor relationships we've experienced in a LONG time! When we sought out to implement an intranet for our company we wanted to keep in mind that our workforce (over 2100 employees) is spread across all 50 states and mostly remote. This can make it hard to have open lines of communication creating a barrier for a preferred culture of transparency. Insert ThoughtFarmer and the social intranet! Together we designed a space that invites and encourages communications from the top down. Our employees are empowered to share office happening, kudos to their peers and much more. Not only are we able to share major company news, our employees are able to engage in daily conversation with one another.
Working with ThoughtFarmer on new ideas or needs has been nothing short of amazing! Anytime we approach them with a new feature idea or request, they work to make it happen! Their customer service team is personal, responsive and easy to collaborate with. We are always happy to come to them if we need anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can't think of anything I dislike about working with ThoughtFarmer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When people within an organization come with varying levels of online skills, you need a product that is going to be focused on the users but still perform the way you want. The ThoughtFarmer content management system is a lovable interface with powerful search capabilities that has created a truly valuable intranet for our organization. That said, the BEST thing about ThoughtFarmer was the value the team brought with their professional services - this is where you will get a truly well-organized and operational piece of software that staff will be able to navigate and contribute to ensure ongoing usability and updated content. ThoughtFarmer does everything we need it to do. From a marketing perspective, it would be good to have some form functionality built right into the software, however there are ways to embed third party forms right into ThoughtFarmer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The layout is easy to manipulate from an administrative standpoint. I especially enjoy the blog function and the ability to add blogs and link to pages from other parts of the intranet directly into the news on the front page. I like being able to add pictures to the thumbnails for links to pages. I like that I can @users to send out a shout out to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that when transferring ownership of a page over to another owner, the next owner takes over the previous owner's comments and the comments look like they were made from the new owner when they were actually made by the previous owner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We selected ThoughtFarmer based on the fact that it had probably the most intuitive interface that would be easy for Communications and all the content owners to use. The build was a breeze and done in a fraction of the time and for a fraction of the cost of a SharePoint site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We find the document management system a little clunky to use and a little slow. ThoughtFarmer's new Office 365 integration however, looks pretty sleek, so we may give that a try this year to see if the UX can be improved for documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to customize notifications and now tag people. We have been able to centralize communication throughout the organization using ThoughtFarmer and this has been one of the most helpful ways in which we have been able to use the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the page formatting can seem a little bit limited. But the most difficult thing is posting media (photos and videos). The 100 MB cap is hard to work with sometimes and I wish there were a better "album" functionality. I would also like better calendar integration with the calendars on ThoughtFarmer and outlook.
