Startup was a breeze. The platform is very user friendly. Whenever we come across something that we dont understand, their support team is very knowlegable and easy to talk to. Our staff spends 80% to 90% less time chasing down substitution products. I don't have to log in to 4 to 5 different websites to find out what is available, how much does it cost, etc. The perpetual inventory in our pharmacy system gets updated seemlessly. Surecost is highly user friendly and their support team is unmatched. The webinars that they have on occasion have been informative in helping continue to learn and grow. Accessing, training, and implenting surecost into the daily workflow has been extremly easy as well as the multiude of reports allow staying on top of data and finding the data I need. I don't see it as greatly beneficial from a cost perspective if you are on a source rebate program with a primary vendor. Setting up all of the rules for our own pharmacy took a little while due to inexperience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SureCost allows our purchasing department to save time (and often money as well) by displaying matching options, participating and vendors along with cost and availability. The interface has always been realatively easy to navigate and search features work well. In general, they have also provided good customer service and have been responsive when issues are reported or change requests are submitted. One drawback to SureCost is that reporting customization is limited due to any requested changes needing applied to the same report structure for all recipients, even from other companies. Otherwise, we also are unable to use SureCost for inventory management and reorder planning, but that is mostly due to our own complexity and custom needs. Often substitutions occur when we don't want it to - it's easy enough to change, but sometimes people forget to change them back to the originally intended item, so that can be frustrating at times.
I do wish that I could search the lists of NDC's by lowest cost per tablet in a way that was easier than opening up a second pop-up to view them by lowest to highest.
I also wish availability of the drug from each vendor would appear automatically as we're searching for items, rather than not showing up until we open up that second pop-up, or when it's been added to the order, and then we have to manually click "check availability" for them to appear - I don't love that. As a very large pharmacy, SureCost has been a game changer. With multiple vendors, and large amounts of inventory being recieved every day it can be overwhelming. SureCost has been able to consolidate all of our information (purchasing, recieving, and invoices) into 1 program. We use Surecost every day and the integration has saved our pharmacy time, money, and headaches! Customer support is like no other! The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. SureCost is incredibly easy to use once you've had the minimal amount of training and a little bit of time to look around the site. The minimalistsic and streamline design of the SureCost site makes it expinentially faster than the wholesalers actual sites. Getting around on SureCost is very easy. I also love being able to see all of my purchase options and all of the important info such as Invoice costs, retail costs, and AWP all in one place and easy to read. I do not like the autosub feature at all. It has caused a ton of accidental purchases to occur. Wrong drug, wrong package size, wrong vendor, etc. I undertsnd that you have a "white list" of sorts to help prevent this from happening, but that function is a chore to use and doesn't always work as intended. The end result is having to go through the worksheet everyday before submisson and check each item line by line to ensure that the item I entered is the exact itme that is on the worksheet. There is a lot of nuance to why certain NDCs, package sizes, and vendors are chosen, and the autosub function is not capable of taking that into account. Allowing us to turn that off completely and forego the autosub all together would be ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tool that I find most helpful on Surecost is the potential savings, from other vendors, that shows up whilst ordering items. One upside I have found from using Surecost is that it allows me to see instantaneously when a product is out of stock and other vendors that are providing this product.
