What do you like best about Square for Restaurants?

I love the design of the on-device Restaurants POS software itself. It's pretty intuitive to use and looks so much better than most other POS UIs. It's also designed with modern, familar UI/UX conventions so it's easy to learn and use. I also like how well other Square tools like Loyalty, Marketing, Payroll, et. al. integrate with the main payments tool. It's quite powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Square for Restaurants?

As the Square for Restaurant variant of Square's software is still relatively young, there are a few small missing features. I know that Square is working on filling in those gaps, though, as I talk to them about the product roadmap frequently. Similar, as the software is actively being developed to add and refine features, it's a little too common for weird little bugs to pop up. They are usually resolved in 36 hours or less, but when one of those bugs pops up over a busy weekend, it's frustrating. It's also still too difficult to get in touch with the *right* person when you call support. When you finally do get transferred to the right support department, the quality of the support is way above average. However, Square's phone tree system has a lot of room for improvement. E.g., you have to read out your email address to identity your account, and that's always a PITA. It used to be the case that support would know who you are based on the phone number you're calling from, but that doesn't happen anymore. They should definitely go back to that. What problems is Square for Restaurants solving and how is that benefiting you?

The intuitiveness and ease of use of the software is the first example. It's easy and quick to learn which saves time on training, and generally team members can figure things out on their own. The second is the "one stop shop" nature of all the product modules working together. The integration of payments with our customer database, loyalty program, marketing platform, reporting on all of that, and ecommerce (with one unified shared inventory!) is extremely powerful. No other platform can offer all of what Square does, but some are coming close. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Square for Restaurants?

Square for Restaurants made it easy to update menus and pricing from anywhere with an internet connection. We set up an online menu so customers can order ahead, and everything just worked. The order tickets print immediately and an alert pops up on the register iPad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Square for Restaurants?

Some of the reporting features are not as useful as they could be. I don't like how everybody signs in with just a 4 digit pin. It could be easy for people to sign in under another person's account and see things they should not have access t o. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Square for Restaurants solving and how is that benefiting you?

Unifying the order flow and incorporating an online ordering system was important, and Square let us get it done. In conjunction with their retail operations, we were able to get everything flowing through Square instead of having multiple cash flows on hold at different lengths with different providers. Square has a great reputation, helpful support teams and has longevity in the business. Companies in this field with longevity tend to Iffer lower prices and have high standards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Doesn't feel like it's changing with times. Frequent seeming disruptions. Less premium type features outside payment process. Reevaluate what customers want in personal payment processing and reinvent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Square for Restaurants?

My favorite thing about Square is that I can create my online menu, and people can order from there. I can schedule how many orders we accept every 15 minutes. They also have amazing charts at a glance and very detailed reports. They also include whatever fees will be deducted immediately, so there is less chance of messing up the math. What do you dislike about Square for Restaurants?

It was pretty user-friendly but had a slight learning curve if you are not tech-savvy. I would recommend getting training if you are not well-versed, and the same goes for your employees; they will need to be trained as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Square for Restaurants?

The interface of the POS is quite nice, easy to understand and use. It well performs and integrates with the other POS, and it is very easy to manager down all things in one-go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smaller bugs that sometimes stops the work makes things very bad, as the company is charging high cost assurance of no frequent bugs is required a lot. Otherwise everything is okay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Square for Restaurants?

I use almost all of Square's products for restaurants. The exception is online ordering, which I manage on my website. Both the POS (restaurant and mobile) and the kitchen display system are superb. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
