Implementation and Integration in Google Apps was easy done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Spanning Backup has not seen any improvements or relevant new features in the last three years. If you want to search for a backup email or want to export data the user interface is a total disaster. You really need a lot of time if you use the search functionality because it is incredibly slow. The backup of the data itself works, but a complete export of the data is factually not possible. A single mailbox with 20GB of data took a week to export. Shady cancellation rules, hidden in their EULA with a 30day cancellation window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is simple to select which accounts should be backed up and quick license type each should have. Spanning also automatically adds new accounts from M365 so new employees are included in our backups without interaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Update: The service would not let us restore a large folder or a full account. Cancellation and refund process has been going on for many months.
I would like to see more parts of M365 backed up. Most of the data is backed up but they are still working on certain features. I would also like the full path for files that can't be backed up so that I can research the error messages without a support ticket. I would also like a percent complete indicator to see how long the backup will take. We had an initial backup that took over 30 days to complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing! Its a product thats riddled with bugs, does not work 1/2 the time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is riddled with issues.
The displayed time does not reflect local time and users are asked to figure out what time zone it is in by reading documentation etc to figure out what data center and timezone thats in.
Parts of the UI show users licensed and others say it's not.
The section that says problems found, shows a generic error code, that makes no sense or points to a problem or a solution or allows a user to take action.
The support team are baffled by the product and how badly things work as well.
Events don't have information on what user action was taken on, i.e let's say a user was provisioned with a license, it would say the license was issued to a user, but not who it was etc.
there is text, that has zero value! meaningless data! The product feels like it was built by amateurs who had zero care about how it works and how admins use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being in an MSP, i like that it natively has customer access through the 365GA accounts or i can add a regular user. the interface is straight forward from navigating around down to restoring items Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
i wish there were better filters for auto-applying licenses natively within the application. group based licensing is a great feature but i beleive this should be controlled within the application, not reliant upon the tenant Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Daily backup notification, easy backup restore options. Back up Data well presented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Particularly for salesforce, the backup data for child records has only ids and not names so it is difficult to trace back the historical deleted content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes basically zero time to manage and the setup and integration with Microsoft was a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some times the alerts can be misleading. You get a partial backup alert and when investigating see that it's only a calendar item from a mailbox that hasn't been used in years. I tend to ignore the partial backup alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Backup and restores are simple and it just works. Easy for admins to restore back to the owner or to another account. Clearly separate folder within the inbox with the abililty to search and/or drag and drop messages back into the main inbox. Same goes for OneDrive. This product continues to evolve. Product support if there is an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A better way of getting info out about updates and features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- had to hunt for initial instructions for setup, but they were easy and straight forward
- fails due to Microoft glitches sometimes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not only that the product is very intuitive, with a little to no assistant, i was able to implement Spanning onto our O365 environment and setup the backups. There were some other feature that i didn't know but with the help of the onboarding engineer during the follow up call setup by our Account Rep, he was able to provide insights as to what are the other features that i missed during the implementation. Also, the support is fantactic. Engineers are quick to follow up as well the information that they provided are very easy to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this time, i have no dislike about the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best is how intuitive/logical most of the software is. I did not really have to have much training and it was easy to figure out. It was very easy to implement as well and it intigrates pretty seamlessly into our Microsoft 365 environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every day, I get a report for the day on the Spanning backups. Usually, everyday, there X number of "problems requiring attention". Alot of the itmes that are reported there are "Not Actionable". So there isn't anything that you can really do to clear that up. Most things clear up in a day or so, but if they don't, you have to contact support.
Also, another item is that the sales people seem rather pushy. I get it, but it can be annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
