We use Smarty every day for address validation, and it's made a diffrence in our workflow. The accuracy reduced shipping errors. The set up with the program was decently easy. The API that was given worked with our existing ERP system and saved us a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Smarty's address validation is pretty good in the US, but when using it for international addresses; we've had a bit hickups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our business relies on accurate address verification for shipping, and integrating directly with USPS and UPS was nothing short of a nightmare. With USPS, I was bounced from one wrong department to another, only to eventually learn that the application I submitted wasn’t even in their records. Similarly, UPS flagged our business account for fraud due to an “irregularity.” After two weeks of back-and-forth calls and unfulfilled promises of a response within one business day, the issues were still unresolved.
Enter Smarty. Within five minutes of signing up, we had a fully functional API. My development team was able to close our pending tickets the same day. Not only was the setup process seamless, but the price is also reasonable, and it consistently delivers accurate address data.
If you want to avoid the bureaucratic headaches and delays, Smarty is the way to go. It handles all the complicated integrations for you, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It’s a paid solution, so if you’re on a tight budget and have unlimited time, you might consider integrating directly with the mega-corporations or government agencies. However, for 99% of people, it’s simply not worth the effort. Save yourself the hassle and let someone else handle the headaches for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the simplicity of the implementation and the speed of the service that we were able to achieve with Smarty. It is a reliable service with quality data and people, the two ingredients necessary for a great partnership. Getting started was easy both from a technical and financial perspective. The team has been flexible and easy to work with which has made this a service we use constantly and can't be without. They continue to enrich their data increasing it's valuable to our business. I do wish there was a way to truly customize the offering to our needs and budget by specifically requesting only the pertinant data we need within the payload at a reduced cost for pure optimization and efficiency.
Also we do experience conflicting data with other location services like Google which has made it particularly difficult to overcome during our implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I discovered Smarty in 2013 and looked at the tools they provided for address verification and providing clean addresses. They had tools for integration via their API, which I was able to integrate into one of our home grown solutions. It was so easy to get it working and allows our users to quickly see valid addresses and use those for data entry. This is used by our users on just about a daily basis. Smarty also has a great tool for batch loading a file of addresses and receiving a corrected file, which we've used on several occasions. Smarty's Customer Service has been great, I've never had anything they didn't help me with and have always been pleased with my interactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't come up with anything I dislike about the product, in the years I've been using it, it has been great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Smarty is very straightforward with pricing. In my company, results are expected quickly, and from finding them to integrating with our data warehousing for addres cleanup, it was very fast. Their API is straightforward and well documented. We use Smarty for any new addresses that are entered in our CRM for parsing and cleanup, which is about 50 times a day. I must say that among all integration partners that we have, Smarty is the one that causes no headache at all. It is highly available and performant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That's a hard one. I did have critics about Smarty on how services could be better in specific areas. Those realizations came after several months of usage, on edge cases. I submitted the feedback only to learn that my issues were, actually, already addressed. Very honestly, I don't think I have anything negative to say about Smarty. All I can say is that if you do, they are ready to listen and improve - that is my experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are serveral things I really like about Smarty. Their API is easy to understand and can be as simple as you like for a basic address verification, or you can leverage some really nifty features such as how quickly you offer your user an address autocomplete suggestion as they are typing in the address. Too soon and you offer your user too many unusable suggestions (and eat up your lookups) but if you wait too late your user ends up typing in too much of the address which is not a good experience. Smarty allows you to fine tune this to your liking. They also have lots of examples in different programming languages so its a sure bet you'll find a relevant example. Their billing plans are very flexible too. We can easily scale up or down our monthly lookups to match our ordering volumes so we rarely leave any unsued lookups. I've been a customer for 10+ years, and I haven't really had anything I disliked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Great customer service with the sales rep, Tommy Peterson. Ease of use and flexibility between both list upload and API. I found the data reliable and clean with very few mistakes on unmatched addresses. I found items like rdi, cmra, and vacancy flags to be reliable when looking at a sample of addresses individually. When using the API, I haven't experienced any outages or failures. Overall, it was a straightforward service that provided us exactly what we were looking for in our data needs. If it weren't for time on our side, we would have switched over to include the geocoding services in addition to the US Address API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the only main thing I saw the verification API struggle with was state route addresses. Other than that, I don't have any major dislikes of the US Address API. In the future, I would love to see the company provide more services that would include NCOA, business matching on commercial addresses, and gated community flags ( which I am yet to see a company provide easily ). We currently have a geocoding subscription with Geocodio, one thing I really like that they provide is there bulk list upload tool built-in directly to the API. This made it very easy in bulk processing - for Smarty, I had to build more of a technical approach based on our infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The API's were simple to program against. Even though we only needed a limted about of address information, Smarty had a variety of endpoints to choose from that provided that information without having to pay for a lot of things that we don't need right now. We also find the pricing model convenient in that if we need to use additional calls, another month's allotment is automatically purchased. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did find that some of their pricing seemed inconsistent. Purchasing a larger plan actually turned out to be more expensive per call than a cheaper plan. Couldn't quite understand that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything about integrating Smarty into my application was seamless, from a generous review period to the frictionless checkout process. It does a great job of quickly providng address verification for my customers during the checkout process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I genuinely can't think of anything that I dislike. It is a WYSIWYG application integration. If anything, perhaps the pricepoint could be a bit more accessible for small businesses, but even that isn't a big gripe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Have an address autocomplete feature that assists me in quickly and accurately filling out my address information during the signup process. For smarty we get address already in divided format. Addresses are divided into street1, street 2 etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
we don't get proper result based on address 2 field (15th floor). Address suggestion given by both APIs is not as per our expectation. However if we type address1 then it will give us expected results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like that Smarty will correct errors in the address and provide a complete address. I also really like that Smarty will inform you whether the address is complete (i.e., missing unit #, etc.). Lastly, the data returned by Smarty contains information we have regulary tried to get through USPS, without success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest downside we have come across is that there is no testing enviroment. We have integrated the API into our software and, since we need our testing/staging sites to perform similar to our Production site, we have integrated it into those platforms as well. You were kind enough to add 1,000 look-ups to our account for testing, but we quickly discovered we are testing through the 1,000 in just a couple of days. Therefore, rather than using our Purchased look-ups for testing, we are have been using trial accounts for our testing and we having to replace these accounts weekly if not more.
Also, the individual I was working with when we set up our account has not been very responsive lately. I am sure he is busy, but I would like to know if there are account managers or someone I can speak with when we have questions or concerns.
Lastly, do you have a escalation path for support, or something similar. We just want to know who/where to contact if we do experience issues and who/where to contact if the initial contact is unavailable or not responding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
