Shopmonkey is so helpful with keeping all my workorders organized and in different categories. I love that I don't have to flip through paper tickets anymore and I can search keywords to find tickets. I also like that it keeps track of time of each employee and I am able to run a payroll report directly from the timeclock page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My main dislike currently with Shopmonkey is the syncing with Quickbooks. After the update to 2.0 my inventory did not transfer over correctly so it is throwing my numbers off. This also makes it hard because if an item does not show up in Shopmonkey I have to go to Quickbooks to find the item and the price of it. I am the only one who can do this so it makes my job much harder. I also wish that the paid invoices and invoices themselves automatically transferred to Quickbooks instead of going to Accounting Link and then to Quickbooks. We’ve been using Shop Monkey 2.0 since October, and it’s already made managing our shop easier and more efficient. The streamlined interface, fast performance, and improved scheduling tools have transformed how we work. Communication with customers is seamless, and the reporting features provide valuable insights. While the learning curve was a bit steep at first, it’s been well worth the upgrade. Highly recommend! The only issue we’ve had is the 72-hour payment processing time after jobs are completed. It would be much better if payments were processed within 24 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My family has been in business for over 40 years and were still doing their invoices and bookwork by hand, mostly because the cost of software was too much to justify the spend. After looking at several options over many years I came across Shopmonkey. The amount of support and information we received before signing up was amazing. After signing up and through set-up customer service was quick to repond and always had an answer right away. The integration of a 'computer' to our 'gear heads' was something no one was excited about. However, it was easy for them to learn and a month or so into using the platform everyday our guys raved on the difference it made in their day to day work. We don't use many of the features because we're just a small oil change only shop, but those that we do fit our needs perfectly. We have also been able to utilize some of the features not in the exact way they are designed for other shops, but are able to make them fit our format. The ease of use and simplicity of the app are two of the reasons why I LOVE Shopmonkey! It is so easy to communicate with our customers also and they love being able to text us when they need to schedule an appointment or have any questions about their repair/estimate. There are so many aspects of the business that Shopmonkey covers - from inventory (where you can reorder at the click of a button), to shop/tech/service performance & efficiency, to time log tracking, and so many more.
I've used 3 other shop softwares in my time working at various shops and Shopmonkey is hands down the smoothest of them all, it also looks the best visually. Estimates are neat, easy to follow/read by the customers, and the system lays everything out for the technicians/service writers which has upped our efficiency ten-fold. So far I have not found ANYTHING wrong with ShopMonkey! Anytime I need help remembering how to do certain things that I've forgotten I just contact the ShopMonkey help window and someone is there to help me within seconds! We were worried about internet outages affecting our ability to use Shopmonkey but we've found that if our internet at the shop goes out I can easily link to a hotspot or personal data to keep things flowing seemlessly. Can not change tax amount like before in version 1. (We have a tax variance in our county for amounts over 5K, so I need to make a manual adjustment). Needs multiple Tax profiles. Cant change creation date like before in Version 1. Can not duplicate customer orders when customer is set to tax exempt like before in version 1. (If I change the customer to taxable, duplicate, then change them back to tax exempt). Can not dulpicate an estimate that does not ve a customer assigned. When entering text in an labor or part line item spell check doesnt work correctly. The AI is rearly helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shopmonkey has been a great program to keep track of all estimates and invoices for all of our Heavy Duty Mechanics shop needs. Ease of use, with credit card payments and it integrates well with QuickBooks Online. Customer support has also been quick and helpful whenever needed. Some times the GST when intergrated with Quickbooks is off by a cent, so it's an extra step to fix the few invoices. Nothing major. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shop Monkey has been extremely beneficial to our shop as a whole and has allowed us to move completely over to digital workflows allowing us to be paperless for all of our work orders. It has allowed us to maintain a valid and efficient history of the work we are doing within our shop and has also allowed us to streamline communication between our management, technicians and administration. The time clock function has also allowed us to be more efficient in tracking times spent on jobs and assessing technician efficiency.
The migration over to 2.0 however has been beneficial and I overall find that it is much more user friendly then the original version and the updates they did make the useability of it much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer support needs to improve as response times as a whole are not what I expected them to be and when they do respond it is often well past when I needed support with the problem I was experiencing. We had problems with the customer service reps quoting us the american pricing in Canadian dollars and also had issues with tax integration with QBO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shopmonkey's ability to neatly organize our customers, fleets, vehicles and associate notes & photos from our technicians has allowed us to provide our customers with a full report of services performed. Whenever I have had an issue, it's been relatively easy to contact support and get a resolution or at least gather further information into the issue that I'm experiencing. We have experienced issues with Shopmonkey's inventory engine where it pulls items from our stock, when building an estimate. This has caused us to migrate to an alternative platform for processing of sales orders, purchase orders and inventory logistics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer communication is vastly improved. We no longer have to try to catch a customer on the phone before end of day. They can pay after hours and pick up keys in our key pickup system 24/7. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Glitches and system speed. Occasionally while typing the system decides to skip or even crash. Lots of wasted time with that and speed.
