The UI is really simple to use, and it comes with a bunch of cool features like taking screenshots, recording your screen, setting up workflows, and managing tasks after capturing or uploading.
After taking screenshots, you can do lots of things like highlighting important parts, creating boxes, and adding numbers. I also like the history section where I can see all my captured screenshots and GIFs and edit them again if needed. Sharing is a breeze too—you can just share the link without needing to download and send files. And the best part is, it's an open-source product and totally free to use. 1. The program's interface can overwhelm first-time users due to the many options and settings.
2. Limited Video Editing: Although ShareX offers screen recording capabilities, its built-in video editing features are relatively basic. If more advanced editing is required, additional software may be necessary.
3. The software is available only for Windows, limiting its use to those working on macOS or Linux platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful thing about ShareX is for sure the Hotkey easy access, you can personalize every aspect of it and make it a powerful ally to capture your screen, window or even make a GIF to share afterwards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'd really love an insane Guide or Tutorial covering all of ShareX options, they have so many that sometimes is difficult to find your best solution to a problem, but even if that's the case, there are many alternatives that you can use inside ShareX. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This app, has everything you will ever need to take quick screen captures and so much more... You can easily highlight, blur, add icons drawings, steps to your captures. You can also record and create gifts with this app.
I also love it that when you take a screenshot is automatically pasted to your clipboard so there's no actual need to go to the location folder to attach the image in your message in slack or your email, just paste it and that's that super practical feature. They have a feature which allows you to take screenshots of scrolling down websites so you take a single screenshot of the whole page or document. It's awesome but it doesn't always work as it should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ShareX is a freeware programme designed to record either virtually (your computer screen) or self-record over your webcam. You can choose only one visual and sound input per recording. This means you can choose to record your screen (virtual) with either your voice or the virtual sound, or choose your webcam with virtual or voice recorder options. I find it incredibly useful to make screen and voice combination recordings for professional use in creating my teaching materials and for qualitative research.
For example, I record presentations on my screen with my voice script that I can send to students I supervise. I also record work tasks for team collaboration where you have to explain admin or research processes or protocols that others should follow in the same manner. It makes it easy for team members or students to review in their own time. Since you can save your downloaded video content, it's easy to share using Google Drive or Dropbox. Some files are small enough to email directly while maintaining video quality. The size can be preset before you record.
I also apply ShareX to screenrecord analysis I conduct on ATLAS.ti (a brilliant software programme you can use to facilitate analysing qualitative data including text (Microsoft Word or PDF), audio, images and video files). I record analysis processes in case I want to repeat the same processes later. It also captures processes for team collaboration to ensure all team members follow the same procedure for quality and trustworthiness.
And its absolutely free!!! No adds, no additional buy-in, and no tracking of personal data or content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because screen recording options are limited to screen vs webcam and virtual sound vs voice recorder, it means that you cannot toggle between options in the same recording. You also have to remember to adjust your preferences on settings or face repeating a recording once you realise which settings you needed! Quick tip: once you set up, check the settings by doing a quick test recording to replay and make sure you have the correct set-up! It takes a bit of tech savvy to install and run updates, but again: it's absolutely FREE and given that, it's absolutely brilliant!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am using this tool to create screenshots for IT documentation creation. GIFs and videos for "how to" tutorials.

The simplicity! If I want to share a screen capture with a work colleague, all I have to do is press a button and I'm given a web link to copy and paste. Simple! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absolutely nothing. The free version does everthing you need for just sharing your screen and work. There is no feature for recording audio but that's not what this software is required for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
