Whether you're managing IT service management, HR, or customer service, you can easily customize workflows to fit specific business needs. The integration capabilities with other tools and platforms are impressive, allowing organizations to create a cohesive ecosystem.
Additionally, the emphasis on automation and AI helps reduce repetitive tasks, freeing up teams to focus on more strategic initiatives. Overall, it’s not just about managing services; it's about enabling organizations to innovate and respond to challenges more effectively. It’s that balance of functionality and user experience that truly makes ServiceNow shine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While ServiceNow has many strengths, there are a few aspects that can be a bit frustrating. For one, the initial learning curve can be steep. Even though the platform is user-friendly, navigating all its features and capabilities can feel overwhelming at first, especially for new users or those without a tech background.
Additionally, customization, while a strong point, can sometimes lead to complexity. Organizations may find themselves needing to invest significant time and resources to tailor the platform to their specific needs, which can be a bit of a hurdle.
Another common concern is the cost. For smaller businesses, the pricing model can be a barrier, especially when trying to access some of the more advanced features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In our growing company, automation is a hot topic. Because of this, stakeholders have been looking more towards ServiceNow to help automate and augment our common tasks whenever possible.
ATF helped us decrease our upgrade time from a month to a week.
Service Portal is becoming the go-to spot to enter requests and explore knowledge articles.
Performance Analytics helped us find and understand gaps in our incident and request processes.
Perhaps our biggest use case with App Engine is Flow Designer. With Flow Designer, we have quickly changed many of our processes to include functionality with the variety of spokes that are offered. These spokes have helped to speed up requests for software approval and access permission. We have even begun to use it to automate our new hire request process and new hire role based access control.
To put it simply, App Engine, especially Flow Designer have quickly become an integral part of many processes within our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have experienced some high learning curves with features like UI Builder and App Engine Studio.
Spokes can be challenging to set up and troubleshoot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a developer i would like to add few things which i would like in app engine studio
* The first one would be the experiences which we can create it provides different personas viewing and use it always feels good
* The second one could be automation using workflows which is truly amazing that helped me a lot in my work
* The last thine would be security which impressed me a lot and proving acess couldn't be that much easy as before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lets look at the things i disliked in app engine studio is there is no such thing version controlling which make my development easy while pusing to production environments. Except that i fell all other things are good and we can implement many things with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is no more disadvantages I observed in App Engine Studio. But i feel some.
1. If we will migrating more data then it might accure issues.
2.Its restricting creation of global application just allowing custom scoped applications.
3. As per my experiance i faced little bit navigation confusions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the most important thing that I like about the App Engine is the ease of doing business that is building at your finger tips. The interactive interface, the user-friendly components, the ease of integrating the apps that were created with the source control like GitHub and many more that contribute to the ease of Implementation makes the best of ServiceNow App Engine. With these cool features, the frequency of using App Engine is increasing rapidly and with the customer support around, I thing it is one of the best in ServiceNow. Well, there is nothing pretty much that I dislike or downsides about ServiceNow App Engine, I personally feel that it can be embedded with advanced capabilities to build large scale apps, though it is intended for pro-code developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As someone who has built many custom applications on ServiceNow, I find App Engine Studio (AES) to be a game changer. Its low-code/no-code capabilities empower business users (Citizen Developers) to build workflows without needing deep technical expertise. The intuitive interface makes it easy to create applications, similar to Microsoft Power Automate, but with the backing of ServiceNow’s robust platform. The governance model is another standout feature—applications built by Citizen Developers cannot be deployed to production without admin approval, ensuring quality and compliance.
While AES is powerful, complex business processes still require coding, which means Pro Code developers are needed for more advanced use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some additional effort is required to train Citizen Developers so they can effectively utilize the tool without creating inefficiencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Few of many best features of app engine is
1. Easy to build custom applications
2. Low code capabilities
3. Version control of custom application Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
one of the real life challanges I have faced is: while we can develop application in one customer environment if we need to move the application in another customer environment/ maybe a sister company which has a different set of environment the application movement has challanges and I had use update sets also few custom tables had to be re created from scratch. ServiceNow IT Service Management ITSM is very easy to use. The UI is so simple. And the tasks such as Incident management, Problem record creation etc can be done in simple steps. And also by integrating this with the share point I am able to get the insights, trends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integrating ServiceNow ITSM with other applications like Nexthink and Kore AI is challenging and complex. Also, sometimes it's difficult to understand, navigate, and stay up to date with all the available functionalities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I absolutely love how easy it makes building and automating workflows. The drag-and-drop interface is super intuitive, and it’s great for both developers and non-technical users. The integration with other ServiceNow products is seamless, which makes the whole experience smooth. It's a real time-saver! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the platform is generally great, it does have a bit of a learning curve for beginners. It can be a little overwhelming at first, especially for users who are not familiar with ServiceNow's ecosystem. But once you get the hang of it, everything clicks into place! App Engine is a incredible way to do low code programming. I do love coding intensively myself, as I am a software architecture, but the way App Engine removes the hassle and incentivizes productivity, helping me build new automations and tools quickly, wins my heart. I've worked (and still work) with different low code tools, but none have come close to the high level of flexibility and all the features that App Engine offers me. Debuggability could be better, as sometimes it takes quite a while to track down an issue. Typo errors and lack of configuration erros are less common, as App Engine, as a UI interface for coding, enforces some stuff that normal could would only alert with compilers and all, but still, real time debugging isn't as simple and intuitive as just spinning up a debugger on an IDE and stepping through the code, line by line, to figure out what's wrong.
Also, in the same veins as debuggability, noticing the changes in real time isn't as good as a current web development or mobile development framework, in which the changes can be perceived almost instantaneously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
