We liked that all the Controls and Tests for SOC 2 were automatically imported for us, all we had to do was add in the supporting evidence. In addition many of the items automatically pass or fail based on the integrations you setup with key resources and vendors, such as Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Office 365, LastPass, Slack and many more. This really simplifies the auditing for SOC 2. Many of the items include detailed descriptoipns, templates and exmaples of what is required making it easy if you are starting out on your journey to SOC 2 compliance.

The Policies function is easy to publish policies and track employee acknowledgement. The built in policy editor is maybe a little weak in terms of formatting options for example there is no way to add a table to a policy.

The Vendors area is a great place to add all the vendors we use along with bieng able to classify them and tag them with overall risk level. In addition you can add on supplemental documentation, assessments, or reports as needed.

The SecureFrame Agent is useful for traking assets and checking basic complicance with high level security settings, and makes it easy to ensure everything is as it should be.

On the whole not much, as mentioned earlier the in app policy editor is very basic, it would be nicer to have some more formatting options. This could also help when adding in Descriptions or comments on items.

The software is still a work in progress. While fairly easy to you will run into things that you think should be there. For instance, you can't allways filter or sort by what you want to. The most helpful thing about Secureframe is its ease of use. It takes what can be a very complicated and overwhelming process and makes it extremely simple to follow and understand. Secureframe is helping us get ready for a SOC2 audit by automatically detecting every test we will need to pass that is relevant to our infrastructure setup.

It integrates seamlessly with AWS and highlights any non-compliant infrastructure changes that need to be made.

Whenever there is an alternative route to compliance (specifically with AWS for us), Secureframe's customer service is always quick and helpful to clarify to us the requirements of being compliant.

It is easy to add company policies (important requirement for SOC2) and invite employees to accept said policies.

If I had one complaint it would be the lack of alternate passing criteria for certain AWS tests. In a few cases for us, there are different ways to approach AWS compliance problems that save a lot of headaches. Having said that, we simply reach out to customer support where they manually confirm to us if our alternate solution is compliant or not, and you can manually override each test on a case-by-case basis with justification. Lacking certain features such as certain integrations or basic functions that may streamline the manual grind of gap analysis, however they constantly add new features and will always offer alternative suggestions or timelines for when new features are coming in.
