We have found the SearchStax team to be knowledgeable, easy to work with and were timely with requests. I can only speak to the members that we had the pleasure of working with, but our experience has been very positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations for deployment sizes seem to be higher mostly because the bulk of their clients use Sitecore and Drupal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reliability and performance of their Apache Solr instances stand out the most. Their platform is user-friendly, and they provide excellent support with quick response times. The ease of implementation and integration with our existing systems was seamless, which made the onboarding process stress-free. We use SearchStax frequently, and it consistently delivers outstanding performance. Their professionalism and attention to detail give us complete peace of mind. Honestly, there’s nothing to dislike about SearchStax. The system is incredibly reliable, the support team is fantastic, and the pricing is very competitive. It’s been a flawless experience so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their cloud Solr offering was exactly what we were looking for.
Their team is smaller which makes for easy contacts and always there when we needed them.
As a point solution, their product does what it says at a reasonable cost.
Just enough features to exceed what our requirements were. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Assume they are a younger company, so they will mature some of their processes with time.
Nothing in the critical path was an issue however.
No actual dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In our previous Sitecore Implementations we used VMs to host and manage our Solr servers. We spent so much time troubleshooting and maintaining the infrastructure. In a recent upgrade we decided to use SearchStax and it was a game changer. We've been live for almost a year now. 0 downtime, 0 issues and much improved performance.
Searchstax allowed us to focus on building our Search Features without worrying about infrastructure or Hosting. Solr as a Service is handsdown the best option when it comes to Sitecore Implementations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. Everything was great. The product, the support, documentation. Ease of Integration... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Service - workth with SS the people have been extremely approachable, quick to fix issues and provide feedback. Development and integration of AI tools in the work (RAG). Quick results and the reporting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Search Studio is not a mature product. It is not fully separate from SearchStx (solr). Could have more functions (ie merge google analytics data and re analyze)
The Drupal implementation could be more fine tuned to make it easier for the Admin to do it all from the platform they understand. More detailed walk thoughs, or wizards to help the business use the tool with out IT support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We switched to SearchStax and SOLR from Azure Search when we upgrade Sitecore from 9.2 to 10.1. We xperienced:
1. Excellent on boarding process.
2. Weekly check in meetings leading up to go-live.
3. Fast resoltion of issues and answers to questions.
4. 24/7 support.
5. More accurate ordering or seach items than Azure search.
6. Consistant search results.
7. Faster search results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We haven't experienced too much we've disliked but if I were to be picky:
1. We'd like the ability to clear the search indexes on our own. Our Dev environment was under specked (probably our fault), and we kept running out of disk space, meaning our rebuilds failed.
2. The ability for anyone in our organisation to view the details of any support tickets logged by anyone within our organisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SearchStax has a full-featured technical stack. The team is continually working to mature and improve it with meaningful features and understandable analytics. There are multiple implementation options, from drop-in UX Accelerator code to custom apps driven by their API. The API documentation is clear and helpful. You can aggregate data from across a variety of architectures without expensive connectors for your integration. It's a great product for improving customer experience and content performance. The crawler itself isn't as fast as some on the market so iterations on the crawler settings can take a little longer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate SearchStax's outstanding customer service. Their team is always responsive and provides thorough support whenever we have questions or issues. Additionally, the platform is user-friendly and highly efficient, which has significantly improved our search capabilities. The reliability and performance of SearchStax have been top-notch, ensuring our projects run smoothly. Overall, using SearchStax has been a great experience with clear benefits to our operations. The price for startups is one of the bigger expenses but it is critical for operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is much more flexible compared to other products in market. Easy to setup and use. Good customer support. Easy to integrate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every product has some limitation and when you encountered it, support team needs to accept it with open arms but that wasn't the case when we faced such situation. Else there is nothing to dislike about product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using SearchStax for several years now, and they've proven to be an exceptional partner in managing search services for our website, which caters to over 4.8 million users. Initially, we managed our search infrastructure on-premise, which was very challenging due to both issues and a lack of internal expertise. However, since switching to SearchStax, whenever we've encountered a problem or opened a support ticket, their team has been incredibly responsive and provided the assistance we needed. The uptime of their service has also been outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No downsides. The only feedback we have is for SearchStax to support the latest versions of Sitecore more promptly upon their immediate release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Many products in this space are trying to be all things to all people. A search product doesn't also have to be a CMS and a page builder and one-stop-shop for all things digital. The SearchStax product offering is straightforward and high quality.
The SearchStax team is also very responsive. The time between first inquiry and call with their partnership team was a matter of days, where other companies didn't respond for weeks or still haven't responded. In every interaction since, we've felt supported – from calls with subject matter experts, access to documentation or the ability to ask dumb questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Deprecating the Theme Editor seems like cutting off a potential entry point to new customers. Having a pre-built and fairly standard theme to start with is a great way to focus on the more interesting and nuanced aspects of search customization. I'd like to see the Theme Editor come back in some way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
