SAP ERP is one of the best comprehensive module, which almost includes solution of every daily business needs of any big organization. Whether it be finance related records, inventory records or be it the human resources affairs, SAP ERP is there to provide an easy to handle solution for every matter. In my organization SAP ERP is majorly used as the main software to handle inventory of organization's assets and warehouses records. It is also the core software in our organization for HR online portal. It has very fast and interactive interface that employees can easily handle their day to day matters in few clicks rather it be regarding their pay slips or initiating a company sponsored medical facility. It is bit difficult in raising PO and PRs of inventory, but once you have a good hand of its use, it became easy and also a secure platform for managing all assets of organization. The downside I have seen in SAP ERP is a bit difficult user interface , which sometimes make it difficult for use and understand for new primary employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can manipulate data so easily and maintain ample of data with it, its easy to create tables and also we have various standard tables present in SAP which makes it easy to construct the data according to your industry. I have created receipts for one of the project so i have used smartfroms , its easy to design it and put the data. Currently i am using it for banking sector so mostly will be handling bank statements and to clear or process the payments. As it name stands system application and products its useful in each and every sector, and there are various modules present for according to sector. example HR finance mm sd etc. So there will be dedicate resource for each field so its to rech out to the consultant and get work done. SAP ERP is highly integrated within different modules. All the module like MM, SD, FI, HR are integrated with each other. If some data is affecting in other module & if there is inconsistency in data you will not be able to post the transaction in SAP database.

Since there is less chance of junk data & no data duplication you can rely on SAP ERP system for various Data Analysis.

- SAP as an ERP is not too user friendly. Requires users to have pre-requisite knowledge to of its complete functionality and technical T-codes even for basic functionality.

- SAP is not open to interaction with other common business open source software’s and MS office

- It is an expensive an organization will have to apply a dedicated IT team to properly implement and continuously monitor it from infrastructures, training, peoples and support

- Would log users out of the system if kept idle for a few minutes. Sometimes it gets irritating

SAP ERP is a wonderful business to business (B2B) software. It is a one point business solution for everything you required in a business. It contains all modules like sales and distribution, material management, finance and accounting etc. It takes care supply side like what is needed, how much is needed, when it will be needed, etc with help of MRP process in SAP. It allows businesses to focus on their core competency and leave rest aside to it. Various modules of SAP ERP are used to set up a whole business from scratch. There is no need store master data of different module separately. Same master data can be used in different module due to this there is less data redundancy. SAP ERP is a very costly software, making it unaffordable for small businesses. Only multi billion dollar companies can afford it. Also it is very complex. A very big team is required to manage its various modules. It requires a complex network of various teams interacting for co-ordinaton. Interdependency is very high of teams on each other. I like the all-in-one inclusiveness of SAP ERP. We use a third party customer's variant as a basis to work off of and the integration with all aspects of the business(Shipping, receiving, material planning, invoicing, production, etc.) makes it very easy to plan and load level. Sometimes the interface is less than user friendly. We have yet to come across any type of directory with a list of all available transactions, and sometimes get self referencing errors. This makes it difficult to troubleshoot what the problem is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my organization, SAP ERP is widely being used as human resource related platform. Its easy to get complete data of every employee of the company nationwide and also used as swift tool to handle all financial and non financial matters of all employees. We as an employee get timely updates about our salaries, tax related documentation, raises, and all other day to day financial data. It is also being used to apply for travel requests, medical claims, per diem expense claims and many more. It also helps in time management in a very efficient way as we can apply for our leaves and LFAs without any hassle by using SAP ERP portal and it immediately get notified to related manager for timely approvals. As I am not an inventory team guy, but it is also used widely by organizational inventory team and they always applaud this software as the best one for their purpose. The downside I have seen in SAP ERP is forced password change every 45 days. It is sometimes very complicated while memorizing your passwords every now and then.
