In some instances for smaller quant product open ends it can be more difficult to yield useful findings. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've used Relative Insight to help consult for a host of a major financial podcast and help him to discover how different guests speak and talk about certain topics. We even used it to reveal different ways the host intereviewed certain types of guests (for example, males vs. females), which unveiled to him certain biases he may have had. ### 2. When comparing text in your data, it helps you to pull out key changes that helps me to discover emerging issues. One of the best parts is whilst analysing the data your able to loop back to the comments in question and tag them accordingly to help shape a story for your analysis. **What do you dislike about Relative Insight?** Most of my analysis has been to cover the diffrences betwee two different parameters such as date/time, issue type, device type etc... Getting data used over many different parameters can take a while, although you do get detailed analysis from it. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Identifying emerging and changing issues across the business. Mostly, I use them for the 'cherry on top' in our deliverables — often, we'll review a wide array of data in the platform, and Relative will provide a handful of standout insights. Relative has been most helpful processing survey data, or data we are very familiar with its source. **What do you dislike about Relative Insight?** Heartbeat has great potential but still feels fiddly and sometimes slow to use. It is sometimes hard to confidently pull insights from Relative's data, where we are not sure where or how they have scraped it. Better signposting would help. It would be helpful to create personal, locked or confidential folders in the platform. Sometimes, we are dealing with sensitive data that other members of the team should not be able to see. It is ambiguous how much Relative can/ do track our usage within the platform. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Relative helps us make qualitative data quantitative, find patterns that others wouldn't, and look smart in front of our clients. Sometimes you don't have the data at hand, and Relative Insight cannot help you with a built-in feature (as it is not its purpose). The only solution is to go through customer support and ask them for the data you need. It's incredibly simple and user-friendly to use, with a very well supported learning curve to quickly get up to speed and become relatively proficient. By stripping out a lot of the subjectivity that is normally a huge part of reading employee feedback, Relative has sped up our time from data collection to action from weeks to days, while also allowing us to focus much more on potentially hidden trends and themes. I love how neatly organised it is and how fast the process is to input data and move to analysis and discussion. Similarly, the customer support, product onboarding and relationship management has been exemplary. **What do you dislike about Relative Insight?** There is very little I dislike - the one tweak I'd suggest is to make it easier to capture and export insights - the 'export insights' feature is great, but I rely much more on screenshotting (for example, the lists of most frequently used phrases) **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem is that we are solving is the difficulty of reading through a novel's worth of comments and feedback from employees when we run quarterly surveys. As a manual process, this can be very laborious and highly open to bias and subjectivity. By 'reading' the comments with Relative, we get a much faster and more objective view. Relative insight also doesn't allow you to attach the verbatim with highlighted phrases for each theme. It also doesn't include many visualisation options which quite a downside as a user would want to have many different type of visuals to choose from. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** During our last catchup, Relative insight is planning to create an API which can be used in different softwares such as PowerBI which will be very useful as it is a software commonly used to share insights. ### 17. The only downside is that I've worked with several different partners over the years. And the team are really helpful in getting you trained and getting your data into the platform. There are additional webinars to join for training and inspiration. **What do you dislike about Relative Insight?** My budget is limited, so for now I have to think hard about which data to analyse, as the cost is very reasonable but is costed per project, and given this is still a new approach for our company, I need to start small to justify the impact. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm analysing the language used by different groups of customers - to find what the satisfied customers choose to talk about vs. unsatisfied customers; and to compare the language used by our customers in different countries, to find previously hidden strengths/weaknesses and/or customer needs. We thought it may be useful to explain how the insights are generated, to give you the confidence to apply them in a business context. Relative uses natural language processing (NLP) and comparative linguistics to reveal the differences, similarities, and frequencies in text. As so much of our communication is made up of commonly used words, it’s the differences that provide the key insights. To surface what’s unique, our platform records all the linguistic features (topics, words, phrases, emotions, grammar) and compares the prevalence of each against a relevant benchmark. Finally, to ensure that those differences are not identified by chance, the platform performs statistical testing to calculate the probability of a false result. Only once the threshold is met, the difference will show in the report. I love being able to show a client something they didn't know about how their own brand speaks for example, versus their audience or how a certain emphasis has changed over time. Seamless and fast as a software. **What do you dislike about Relative Insight?** One of the downsides is (depending of course on each client's interests) different cards (e.g. one based on frequencies and one based on similarities between sets) often give the same insight. One can say this helps corroborate them but they won't necessarily be useful. Another thing is that is is easy to overstate the significance of some insights. I do not have a science/stats background so I might be leaving an unfair comment but it just sometimes feels like the data sets are not broad enough to generate strong insights. **What problems is Relative Insight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reviews are tricky when looking at a large set of them.
