The ability to search translation memories and find suitable contexts as well as the versatility of collaboration between translators Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no actual critical issues encountered in the program and in its daily use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redokun is super easy-to-use - upload your XLIFF, select the target language, pre-translate and add your translators to check and validate the translation.
It simplifies the editing and translation process for our eLearning course translation. I've never had a problem using their XLIFF export in our eLearning tool.
The more you translate in the tool, the better it becomes and the faster your next translations will be.
Any time I have a question that isn't in their help documentation, the team is very quick to respond. They've even gotten on the phone with me to help me figure out the best way to approach some translation projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While this isn't an issue for us because we have our own pool of tranlsators that we use to check and validate the transtlations. If you don't have your own translators, then you will need to source those outside of Redokun. Redokun provides a translation platform not translators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I discovered Redokun at a time when I was managing the Marketing and Communications activities of 4 people in 13 different languages (yes, crazy hell.)
I found it online by pure chance (although perhaps chance does not exist in life.)
Here's the starting situation, as I entered the role and starting figuring out the situation:
❌ Office processes in total chaos, ZERO organization of workflows
❌ Translations handled in .pdf or Excel by colleagues in foreign branches: this means translations delivered late and frequent errors
❌ Lexicon not always correct
❌ Promotional materials always late
❌ Product launches always late
❌ Marketing team very frustrated, because we see our efforts falling on deaf ears
❌ Branch sales managers very frustrated because they have to redo the same translations over and over again (“How many times do I have to translate this sentence?”) and do not have the material they need to promote products, on time
❌ GM even more frustrated
I was looking for a solution, quick and effective.
There are many similar tools in the market but Redokun immediately caught my attention because:
✅ It has a very intuitive intereface: having to explain how to use it to 13 different people (not all digital-friendly) from different countries, the fact that it was intuitive was a huge plus
✅ The possibility of having a preview of the working page, helps to mentally have an idea of what you are translating (the same thing can certainly not be said of Excel files)
✅ I had direct contact almost immediately with Stefano, one of the two founders: he helped me understand how to make the best use of the platform, to adapt it to my needs
How many other products in the world can you say the same thing about?
✅ The team behind Redokun believes in the product, and the efforts to offer a great service are palpable; worth the money
End situation:
👍🏻 Branch colleagues happy (I mean it - happy) to do the translations of the material they would then use on a daily basis
👍🏻 Clear and defined workflows - less stress and anxiety for everybody
👍🏻 Translations correct and ready on time which means ..
👍🏻 On-time product launches
Give it a try, they offer a 14-days trial and you can translate up to 10.000 words! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Up to this point, I have not yet found any features that I do not like or that I would like to change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being an international company needing to publish eLearning courses in 6 different languages every time, Redokun is the Holy Grail I have been looking for since day 1 of my job in Learning & Development. It has significantly accelerated our course launch process, likely by at least three times. The pre-translation feature with DeepL was definitely what made us go for Redokun over other platforms. I can definitely also recommend the speed and kindness of the customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use emojis in the text of the courses, and often, when I upload the course XLIFF back to Articulate Rise, the emojis get lost (only a question mark symbol appears). Still, a minor issue, compared to the amount of time saved with this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redokun has significantly streamlined my workflow on multilingual projects. Its ability to efficiently handle and synchronize translations within InDesign files is a massive time-saver. The interface is user-friendly, and features like translation memory and glossary management ensure consistency across all projects. Additionally, collaborating with translators is seamless, even with teams spread across different time zones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While powerful, the tool could benefit from additional integrations with software like Photoshop or Illustrator. Broader support for non-InDesign formats would also be a great improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redokun has made our translation process run more smoothly. It's very user-friendly and our international translators find it easy to learn and use. We are able to manage the translation of our materials in 60+ languages and we utilize this tool every day. The Redokun customer support team is very responsive to questions and to adding new languages into the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's challenging to add existing materials into Redokun, but we have found a way to work around this issue. It would be helpful to have a way to identify the fonts that translators are using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I went through a bunch of tools before finding Redokun as I was looking to translate a bunch of Articulate courses and apart from Redokun or SmartCAT none of them seemed to do the job or had such a convoluted interface that it would require a long learning curve to get a result out of them.
Redokun was easy to use, did what I needed to and on top of that did so for a fraction of a cost of SmartCAT (seriously, one year subscription is a terrible option for a one off project, Redokun offers you a montly option instead).
Plus, the support experience I had was absolutely stellar. Just 10/10 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can't say anything bad honestly - it just did its job, period Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of use is amazing. No more e-mails back and forward with translations and corrections. And with the integrated translation memory nobody in your team will never have to translate the same sentence twice. A very hard to tackle issue when managing everything yourself. You need to pick a 'base' language from which you translate. Translating A to B and then B to C will not automatically match A to C. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The speed and ease of use of the platform are incredible!
The fact that Redokun learns your specific use of certain words Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A general setting for the automated translation would be helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The project I translated had an exact (down to the pixel), intricate, and complex design with many elements on the 200+ pages. Redokun was able to easily extract the text, pre-translate it, and provide an accessible platform for my translators (who were located on three differnet continents) to discuss, change, and confirm the translation. At any point in the journey, the team at Redokun was readily accessible to thoughtfully, accurately, and promptly respond to any questions we had. The interface is extrememly easy to use, even for those who feel computer illiterate. It is very intuitive. Having a glossary was an absolute time-saver as we had many phrases that appeared in different places of the 31 documents in the translation. I would not have completed this translation project if it were not for Redokun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very little!! In the future, I would love for it to have an integrated dictionary (and maybe even a grammar & punctuation checker), but it is still powerful without those tools. (Plus Stefano has put together an excellent tutorial on how to set up the Spanish spell-check in InDesign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simply the best translation software I've ever seen. It helps us in InDesign manuals and other documents as well. It makes the translation process so easy that is hard to believe. As a Brazilian agricultural machinery producer, we create our instruction manuals in Portuguese and need to translate them for other languages. Redokun saves a lot of time on the entire process, from the translation itself to the final layout as well.
Besides the software being great, Redokun Team is also very helpful, always helping and guiding us when necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Dislike? The only dislike was that I discovered Redokun only a few years ago. We suffered a lot before knowing Redokun... sending documents to a translator, waiting for the entire translation, spending time adjusting the final layout... hard to believe how much time we saved after Redokun.
