I LOVE that all my inboxes and communications are in one place. Makes it easier to stay organised. It was easy to connect to all my account and I literally use it every minute of every day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very occasionally I will get signed out of a mail account (because of an issue with the mail provider) and I have to relaunch Shift to get back in. No big deal though - I've never been concerned enough to report it as a bug - but I know if I did, they'd repsond and fix quickly, as they have with any other minor issues I've mentioned. Shift is the best way for me to toggle between workstations for 3 different jobs. The fact that I can always have my email ready to go by clicking the icon is awesome (instead of it being another tab on a regular browser). The nice thing about the layout is that even when I am on my gmail, I can use the URL above to search, or save tabs associated with that email. I use it every single day because I can keep it open and it always keep me logged in, which is easy. It has been the only browser that I have found so far that can manage to keep everything open and organized. I am SO happy I don't constantly have to relog into 3 different google drives. Very easy to integrate with google suite, canva, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I spent like 4 months building up my library of bookmarks and then shift had an update which made me lose all of my bookmarks. That was awful... thankfully I built all of my folders and saved pages back up.
My BIGGEST ANNOYANCE is that for some reason when you open a doc of some sort on the Gmail suite, it techincally opens it using the drive widget, so when you clikc out of it, it DOESNT stay on the page.. it goes back to the generic drive page. So then I have to constantly click "open in new tab", because otherwise when I toggle out of the calendar or out of the drive, it loses the document that was open.
I also wish somehow it could just use the apple passwords.. instead of my having to save all my passwords yet again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I value the ease of us, its a program I use every single day without fail. The customer support team is also excellent and always delivers prompt service. It also pairs with almost every program I could ever hope to need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no dislikes. There are things I wish it could do but in almost all cases there is a plungin to another program that can handle that task and its simply a mater of me finding I the best one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful part of Shift to me is reducing the number of browser/application windows I have open at any given time. I can't tell you why, but having too many windows open amps up my general work stress like few other things!
Shift was very easy to set up, including adding the other applications. I've tried other, similar apps before and had far more trouble and frustration getting started.
I use Shift every working day and am gladder for it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think that Shift's help documentation could be improved. At times it hasn't seemed comprehensive.
Also, I don't use Shift as my primary browser - so sometimes it's a little frustrating when I can get links to auto-open in Chrome from some apps in Shift, but not in others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like about this software is that I can have everything in one platform. I had been looking for a solution like this for a long time. I also find the interface simple, and for my daily use, I think the cost-value ratio is fair. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I don’t like is that it continuously asks about Google account credentials and permissions. Since I manage more than five accounts, it often becomes annoying. Another thing that would be fantastic to have is a direct support chat within the interface for any issues. Also, as I have a wide, curved monitor, the internal HTML windows sometimes look misaligned, but that's just a visual issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Shift seems to be the best stand-alone email client. It can integrate multiple accounts, with incoming messages automatically grouped into as many as four categories. Implementation was simple. I just entered the account access information, and it imported everything. I rely on it at work every day, to handle email quickly and efficiently and without losing track of any. It just works. I've never had to call customer support. I've tried other email clients, but Shift is the most reliable and the only one that works for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shift had trouble, at times, printing to my PDF editor (PDF-Exchange Editor Plus) but they seem to have fixed it in the latest update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Shift makes it easy for me to see my email accounts, Slack workspaces (I use mulitple), and other productivity tools all in one window. I appreciate the "unread" icons that let me know at a glance what needs my attention. It's easy to switch back and forth among the various email accounts I manage, as well as use integrated apps like Google Suite, Spotify, and Amazon. I like that I can navigate to everything in one window without cluttering my screens. I use Shift every day in work life, and have for several years. I am willing to continue to subscribe to Shift because it's easy to use and I see an improvement in productivity when I use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest complaint about Shift is that sometimes the "unread" counts are inaccurate. I'm an "inbox-zero" type of person, so when the unread count is inaccurate, it is irritating. Using apps within Shift takes some getting used to, and if you prefer to work on several different Google Docs at one time, you probably don't want to install the Docs app, as the app limits you to one open document at a time. I've been using Shift now for >5 years now. I use it all day, every day. It enables me to manage all of my various email accounts and document workspaces (Google and Microsoft) in a single, unified webapp, including an integrated search capability across all documents, emails, calendar items, contacts and internet. Amazing UX/UI. I'm also able to load Shift onto ANY desktop computer, mine, a friend's, at a business center, etc. Login as me, an voila, I'm able to access all of the same info, without setting up my accounts on friends, family or stranger's browsers. Finally, Shift supports hundreds of 3rd party app integrations into this single browser-based interface. Fast tech support response times as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
RAM required to run and work in Shift can grow extensively, if one has a lot of tabs and docs open. They continue to make great strides on active memory management, which I greatly appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a virtual assistant, I have many email accounts to keep up with. Shift is the only tool that I've found to manage 20+ email accounts efficiently. Not only can I immediately see notification numbers for each of the accounts but I'm also able to add social media profiles that I check on regularly. The best part is that I do not have to log in and out of each account! I really don't know what I would do without Shift. I reccommend it all of the time fellow virtual assistants as well of many of my clients that have multiple email addresses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the email accounts occasionally become disconnected but it is usually not too hard to get longed back in again. And some of the applications that I have tried do not seem to work seamlessly with Shift. Maybe that will improve over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love having all my email accounts (about a half-dozen) in one place. I used to miss messages when I had to log out and log back into email to see them, and now it's as easy as toggling between accounts on the left margin. I think of Shift as a control center, a big board where I can easily and quickly see what's going on—it's the first thing I look at every time I turn on the computer. I have tried adding applications to monitor things like Slack via Shift as well, and (at least for the applications I've used) found that I lose some of the functionality of the individual applications themselves. I would love to be able to add Threads and Bluesky to Shift, though, so I'll keep an eye out for those being an option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Shift allows me to contain all of my tabs, content, and apps in one convenient location that allows them all to be used at warp speed. If you're looking to increase production, gain access to all sorts of super powers, and want to overcome tab burdens (we all have so many tabs open all the time), look no further. This is the application that will allow you to access all of your email, and drive accounts individually, but also together. What a great piece of software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was around when Shift was only $99. I want that back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
