If you are considering RebelMouse as an existing publisher with a custom platform you might find the migration to RebelMouse a bit cumbersome and time-consuming - just plan accordingly. Additionally, the loss of the ability to make major code or platform edits can feel like lost control for some who are used to having the ability to make software changes but the trade-offs for having RebelMouse constantly developing and improving the platform is worth the lost sense of control. One challenge that a solution could be huge for would be an improved code locking of A/B testing to avoid overrides and edits to existing code and tests, especially on layouts that see a lot of tests. RebelMouse CMS is a premium product. It comes with a world-class support team and incredible customization capabilities, but compared to off-the-shelf CMS solutions like Wordpress or Drupal, it's significantly more expensive. One thing of note is that while the customizability is pretty much endless, sometimes relatively small changes might require development effort, which can also come at a cost. Would like more flexibility with templates, the staff turnover at one point impacted our communication and relationship. The initial design of the site (before I joined the team) was not easily accessible in terms of organization or search functionality.
